0906 Invictus

[Asa]

The upstairs of Avalon held several things: a DJ's booth, a large office formerly occupied by Brandon Davis, and a conference room. Davis had been a Viscount of the Invictus; as such, there were meeting at Avalon, and the conference room was decorated as such. Wood paneling, an oak table, and elegant chairs filled the room.

Downstairs, Olivette discreetly greeted Covenant members and escorted them upstairs. Many of the club's mundane patrons watched enviously, wondering what sort of private party was going on.

As members enter, they see Asa sitting at the head of the table, speaking to Twist, seated at his right.

Asa is dressed in black, the tailored curves of the suit framing his amethyst shirt.

The envious stares from the average club patrons were momentarily cut short upon the arrival of Dr. Ith Lazarus. Dressed in the same wrinkled lab-coat with unkempt office attire beneath, he carries a briefcase which he opens for Olivette at the door to show there was nothing threatening inside -- just papers with what appears to be data written across it.

The doctor is silent to the Prince's ghoul while being escorted upstairs to the private room. His expressionless white mask offering no clue whatsoever as to what Lazarus was thinking or feeling. Upon entering the private meeting room, Dr. Lazarus bows slightly in respect to the Prince. Finding his raspy, unused, voice, "Alder Judex Asa Clarke, I am Mister Warden Ith Lazarus. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance this evening."

[Regina Pia]

Regina enters the club, Ami following behind, carrying a wooden case. Ami goes to a back corner near the entrance and stands guard over the case.
Regina is wearing a long sleeveless dress, it is ornate, ostentatious, everything an Invictus dress should be.

She bows to those assembled, and waits a moment. no Herald. A shame. Maybe she could recommend that to her sari-draped friend.

"Alder Prince, Mister Warden, a pleasure to see you both again; and Priscus Twist, a true pleasure to see you here."

[Asa]

"Lady Twist is also the Archon of Sacramento," Asa said, with an amused look. "Mister Lazarus, Dame Pia, thank you for coming."

I'll have to ask Olivette to tell Mr. Lazarus about the rear entry after this meeting, if Avalon hosts again.

[Twist]

Twist glanced up at the entrance of Dr. Lazarus and then Regina. She was dressed in a simple yet elegant blackevening gown. (http://www.fairygothmother.co.uk/new...1242blackl.jpg). At Regina's greeting she gave a bright smile and dipped her head in return greeting, but didn't verbally say anything.

Inside her thoughts were tumbling. She was attempting something risky tonight and she wasn't even sure that it was something she wanted. And yet, when she thought about it, a sense of calm came. It was as though it was something she had unconciously worried about but never truly considered. So every time her thoughts turned to whether or not this was a mistake, whether or not this is truly what she wanted- she focused on the calm. That she had arrived early and had a chance to talk with Asa alone had helped a great deal. Even now, she drew on his presence next to her.

[Sabri Nidra]

Sabri enters Avalon for the second time since arriving within the city and smiles as she is met by Olivette but does not make any small talk quite yet. Words are powerful, after all, and too many spoken at one time could reveal certain...weaknesses.

Sabri scans the room as she enters the office, wearing an elegant sari of deepest purple, to match the bruised tones of her undead flesh. A veil, as ever, covers her face, but only the lower half; a bright red stone is placed to her forehead, appearing as a third eye. In her hand she clutches the sealed documentation from her Sire proclaiming her acceptance within the First Estate.

"Your Right Honourable Alder Asa Clarke, the Marquis of Sacramento and Judex, it is my personal honour to meet you and be allowed within your presence. I am Madam Sabri Nidra." She holds out her letter with a slightly trembling hand, hoping that she hasn't already embarrassed herself.

[West]

Arnold Culler enters the Avalon and immediately makes a quick beeline for the conference room. He receives many of the same odd looks that Dr. Lazarus had, but unlike Dr. Lazarus Arnold had come well-dressed in a black suit, with white Italian leather shoes, a bowtie and a fedora. On his lapel, as usual, is a wilted rose - red this time.

He appears unarmed as he enters the meeting area. His first action is to bow deeply to the Prince. His deep, smooth voice echoes Sabri's "The Right Honourable Alder Asa Clarke, Marquis of Sacramento and Judex. Your Majesty."

He rises from the bow and looks around at the assembly as he takes his seat. His eyes fall on Twist. Formerly Unbound and now one of the First Estate.

Lady Archon, it would be from now on.

[Aeolus]

Aimée was impressed - the Prince seemed to have an excellent taste, according to the location of the meeting. She wore her red silken cocktail dress, which was stylish, but not brash. Furthermore, she liked its simplicity and serious playfulness.
She greeted Oliviette with a smile and a slight bow; the patrons' looks made her feel good and she was quite ready to meet the local Invictus.

Arriving at the conference room Aimée was satisfied to see a few familiar faces, most notably Twist and Regina. She moved up to the Prince and bowed. "Good evening, Right Honourable Alder Asa Clarke, the Marquis of Sacramento and Judex. I am honored to be here. I am Madam Aimée Noel."
The rest of the kindred didn't get as much attention from her, only a slight bow. Aimée then went to stand next to Regina. "Hello, Dame Lady Knight Regina Pia." She muttered, not to disturb any other conversations. "How are you this night?"

[Asa]

Asa studied the faces in front of. Would any of them prove worthy to eventually join the Dynasty? That led his thoughts to memories of Lioni, Icarus, Davis, and Quentin. This room of Kindred felt nothing like it had when filled with those now gone. Of those present, he really only knew Twist, and was becoming familiar with the taciturn Arnold.

"I believe this is everyone?" he asked.

He looked at Pia and glanced at her ghoul.

(Pia's ghoul stayed downstairs, near the entrance to the upstairs area. I should have been more clear on that, apologies.)

Pia is downright confused as to whats going on. Not a few nights ago he was Lord Prince, and now he was a Marquis? It was not her place however, to challenge him. She was to protect the invictus from exterior threats. If the prince wanted to say he was a marquis then fine, but she would think of him as a Viscount, until he had demonstrated otherwise.

Pia nods to the Prince, then looks at Noel. "I am quite fine, Madam Noel, thank you for inquiring. And yourself?"
