Running but not getting anywhere

Elanah needed a break. As she walked into the gym she knew exactly what she needed. She was under a lot of stress with the Invictus, finding a gift for her sponser, everything that had went down with Max and working with Asher she needed to blow off some steam. She walked into the locker room and changed into a pair of loose fitting pants similar to the bottom half of a Jujitsu Uniform and a black sports bra.

Elanah walked out of the locker room and into the main part of the gym. She walked over to the open mats and began to stretch. She took long extended stretches feeling her ligaments and tendons extend and strain. Once done stretching she moved over to the Treadmills and began her run. How many miles today... she thought to herself...

Elanah wasn't the only one in need of stress relief that night, the meeting with the Circle and dealing with the pressure of his master's commands had put Akim on edge, not to mention the veiled threat of him being replaced by another Childe.

After changing into a short sleeved black tracksuit t-shirt and matching trousers, he headed out into the gym proper and over to the open mats for some warm up excerises, sitting on the mats, stretching his leg out, gripping his foot with his stretched arm and beginning with a series he knew off by heart.

Elanah was well into her first mile when she started to went into that gray haze that she did when she was running. The area around her drifted away, leaving only the sound of her feat slap, slap, slapping against the tread. The sound of the metal on metal from the weight machines. How she felt now is best described as a trance. Like being hypnotized. Leaving only her primal, base senses active and strong.

His warmups finished, Akim began work on a rowing machine, not too far from Elanah, the strain in his arms felt good and showed he was getting somewhere, he dialed the power level up a little and keaned into the motions of it. It was a good feeling, but it left his higher brain functions free and he couldn't help falling into thoughts about Grigori's claim. Was there really another Childe? Creating them was extremely taxing, and he wasn't sure Grigori would have made one in case he failed, but considering making another if Grigori -did- consider him a failure.. that was far more likely, and as a result, far more worrying..

Akim shivered a little, despite himself.

Elanah finished up her third mile and slowed down the tread mill to a brisk walk. As she did she came out of her trance and noticed the Russian on the rower. He was attractive but hardened. He had seen some things. Elanah made eye contact with him for a moment as she walked over to the Lateral pull down machine and began her reps.

Akim returned the eye contact given to him by Elanah, unblinking, despite his suprise. This wasn't another middle age gym goer trying to reclaim her lost figure, this was a woman who was not just in good shape, but in "deadly" shape. It was obivous not just from her build, but how she moved and the look in her eyes, she'd not just seen death, she'd dealt it, many times.

Best to be careful with this one, she was too much like him, possibly even worse, despite being no vampire. But maybe, for the agency.. He decided to play it all the more carefully.

He raised his scarred arm in a salute and gave her a respectful nod, one killer to another.

Elanah did not salute back but gave a cold nod, her ice blue eyes giving only a predatory look. The kind of look that said "I would either give you the ride of your life or end your life."

Elanah stretched out her tightened leg muscles and then went to work on the heavy bag, smashing punches and kicks into the sand filled canvas bags. Elanah even smashed a few knees into the bag. Firing out quick short punches and elbows. Deadly hardened edges that could crush bone and split brows.

Akim finishes on the punchbag and stands up, taking a moment to lightly shake off his arms, before regarding Elanah again as she worked at the punch bag. She was clearly dangerous, but in the end she was still Kine, she was unlikely to kill him, especially here, besides, testing his ability was likely not a bad idea given what he suspected would be coming for him.

He walked towards her and clasped his hands behind his back, confidence was the key here, in his opinion. He watched her for a few minutes, or until she reacted to his presence, before speaking with his slight Russian accent. "You look like you'd make better use of someone who can fight back, if you're here to hone your skills."

Elanah looked to him and laughed a little. "I do not want to hurt you..." she says as she walked past him and toward the leg press and sits down. She sets the weight and begins pushing out one leg at a time. Once the leg was fully extended she flexed her ankle back and forth 5 times and then switched to the other foot.

Akim actually chuckled at this. "I'd suprise you there, and wouldn't someone who knows what they're doing be better then a static punch bag? You know as well as I do that that won't help sharpen your skills, -I- might, and you'd be doing the same for me in return."
