Those were two of the more far fetched things people did without a doubt. "They do yes, Personally I've never seen the appeal of it, but well that's what it is." Safe to say the Moros wasn't an adrenaline Junkie, that or awakening to the tower of the leaden coin had left him in some way unable to appreciate the thrills of life? It was stereotypically for Moros to act as if they were up against the clock at all times. "I'd much prefer a hot air balloon ride or visiting some lofty place in the mountains of partial significance." Or maybe he was just as the youth might say, boring.

His interest is peaked by the idea of the puppet show. "I would guess there must be, maybe at the places you join/leave the trail? It might be hard to have an audience viewing with people biking past every few minutes." But next time they past such a location he would be keeping an eye out. "I know I shouldn't compare but the first thought that came to mind was the old punch and Judy shows you'd see on the pier some times." They had not been about for quite a while but as a child they had been hilarious.

It is not the first time he has heard that comparison of course, and he needs be a little careful here, the mysterium had a view on the matter after all. "A new take to convey new messages." After all none of the modern stories called for sacrifices to the sea to smooth passage, none that he knew of anyway. "And yet in many cultures of the world, the they maintain their old tales with a lot more respect, and diligence." In reference to many the Indian folk tales he knew, and likely the many Japanese ones he did not. "You have to search pretty hard for tales and myths of Britain these days." Now those were things not taught in schools any more.

"I suppose some people need the thrill," she shrugged. She didn't want to judge, really. Despite her personal aversion to such activities, the Acanthus still drove around on a motorcycle. More practical, perhaps, but not without it's own risks.

"I'll have to keep an eye out for somethin' like that. I don't know this trail well. I imagine they'd need some space for the stage," she pondered, glancing up and down said trail. Thirteen had no idea what Punch and Judy were, so she didn't comment on that. Too young, probably.

She nodded, eyes idly watching people go by, "True. You don't see the old Celtic gods bein' used in media with the same gusto as the Norse, Greek or Egyptian ones. I wonder why that is."

The route around them being bustling and lively but peaceful in comparison to anything a thrill seeker might venture out for he does contemplate quietly for a few moments. "The reason behind anything is very rarely if just, and it does make wonder were that need or craving or whatever it is come from." What could drive a person into life risking situation simply to experience them? "How do they get past the fight or flight response, how do they tamper down on survival instinct." yes these were all parts of the lie but sleepers experienced those things, heck mages experienced them they still had physical brains and bodies full of chemicals and biology.

Waving a gloved hand vaguely in the direction of the trail. "There are three main points to join the trail from parks and the like, I would have to imagine they need a field or car park, something spacious to gather an audience." But then turning to behold the river flowing past. "Unless they put the show on a floating platform or something like that." But a shake of his head dismisses the idea. "That seems unlikely." But would be rather neat.

He had not even intended anything quite so grand. "No you really don't, I was only referring to the folk tales you know Witch of the bog, truthful Thomas, Lying Jack." And undoubtedly Scotland would have a myriad of it's own he had never heard of. "But No you are right the gods of Britain do not really get much of a look in at all." He suspected he knew why. "This is just a guess mind you, but by the time we became an empire Britain had long been under one form or another of the Christian faith. The gods of old got pretty stamped out before they had a chance to spread." The British isles had been conquered who knew how many times each bringing their own gods, version of gods and with the Romans, Christianity.

These was beginning to feel like questions a Mastigos was better equipped to answer. "Hell if I know. Can't really run away when you're strapped into the car, or a parachute. If the fear is too much, I suppose you can just refuse to jump. The bungee or plane people or whoever, they won't for you over the edge of the bridge or out the airplane door."

"Aye," she agreed, eyeing the river, "That seems a wee bit much for a puppet show."

"I saw kelpies in a Disney cartoon a few years back. It is rare, though." Did an episode of Duck Tales set in Scotland count? "Hm, aye, that'd be a decent explanation. A lot of 'pagan' stuff got destroyed or subsumed." A sad fact of history.

The image of getting thrown out of airplane is one he would rather not think about all to much, not that he has any issue with heights as a rule but that was a rather different scenario altogether. "Well Unless your strapped to the instructor which you often are in plane jumps, then they might just take you with them out of the plane." He was pretty sure stories about that very thing circulated. "Regardless of your preferences on the matter." There had to be some point where they wouldn't, if they did at all surely.

Now the river and puppet shows those were much better. "It might be a lot yes." Avignon his hand over the river landscape. "But you can picture it can't you? A floating barge with the stage or mini theater on it, anchored to the shore so an audience can gather in front out of the way of passing bikes. Lanterns hanging from the sides for as the evening draws in." Drawing his hand to the bank. "The ticket booth on the bank, a little floating walk way out to the thing itself." Quite the romanticized and picturesque painting he seems to be trying to conjure to the mind.

Thirteen expanding the conversation was quite good fun and he takes the topic in stride. "Well if we are also talking about mythical creatures and the legends and stories wrapped up in them, they do a little better then the gods from pre roman Britain." Granted a lot of British folklore was classed as faerie lore. "There are plenty about giants, and goblins of all manner of varieties, if we count King Arthur and Merlin." Which they should being among the best known legends of the UK. "Then magic and dragons get a reasonable look in as well." But the gods well now they did have a harder time of it.

"Oh, one of those tandem jumps? I suppose that's one way to go about it, if you're lackin' confidence in your own abilities." She shrugged. The Libertine had no interesting in sky diving, and you couldn't pay her to trust someone else that much, even if they were a professional.

A look back towards the river, admiring what she could see through the trees, with sunlight reflecting off the water's surface, "Mmm, aye. It'd be a sight to behold. Insane logistics for a puppet show, but that'd be up to the show staff. Pretty to think about, though."

"True," she nodded, "Mythical beasties are often more popular than ancient deities. Mummies over Osiris, for instance." She smirked wryly, "Did you notice how popular leprechauns are around here back in March?" Though that may be more about the holiday being an excuse to get drunk. "And dragons are the most popular of all, whatever culture they come from. The feathered serpents of South America are probably the best known critter outside the continent. I can't even name any Aztec or Mayan gods."

Nodding slow as he continues to take in the scene around them, the stalls ,the people, the bikers it is all in all not a bad place to be. "Tandem jumps yes that it." Either he had been unaware or forgotten the precise name for the activity in question. "Somehow I think that would be worse, having absolutely no control over the situation other then to make it harder for the person responsible for stopping you from impacting the ground at terminal velocity." A death that granted it seems like you wouldn't feel to much.

He was not a proud man, far from it. But he did like to do everything he did to the highest standard, often pushing his own boundaries and limitations, both trying to exceed himself and find the gaps, the holes in the lie. Maybe that was why he had thought up such a grander image then what was already before them. "I don't know the main issue would be the barge itself the puppet stall, actors and all that should already be accounted for, well if they have one." Which was still an if. "Although I have to imagine health and safety might have a thing or two to say about it." You couldn't climb a ladder without a certificate to say you had training to do so these days. "Still it would be rather pretty yes." Especially as the sun was setting, lanterns turned on.

He chews that point over. "It does depend on the deity a small few do get the spotlight. How often can a show or tale set in Egypt go without mentioning Anubis?" Keeping at first to her Egyptian themed example. "Or Zeus if it's set in Greece, or Vishnu of it is Hindu in origin?" For some reasons these gods had become for lack of a better term marketable. "Even the mythical beasties get sorted to a hierarchy of sorts, how many creatures do you hear coming from Egyptian lore other then mummies?" How many people could name even a single other? "But yes as you say I couldn't miss the the mascot of St Patrick's day." Even if the two things had nothing to do with each other. "You'll have to excuse my pronunciation of this it will be poor. Quetzalcōātl." And yes he does butcher the name. "I only thought of it because you mentioned the feathered serpents." Which were almost certainly the ones to have made it into popular culture.

"People are willin' to pay for that sort of thing, so there'll always be people willin' to provide it." If someone wanted to fall out of an airplane while strapped to another person, that was their business. "Just so long as they don't land on my roof, they can do what they want."

Thirteen spent a moment considering what it would take to build a stage/barge for a floating puppet show. She was no shipwright, however, so she gave up fairly quickly. "Aye, bound to be a lot of regulations, especially if children are involved."

What other sort of mythical creatures came out of Egypt? "Well, there's those scarab beetles, but those are real. Honestly can't think of anything else." She shrugged. "Aside from the feathered serpents," the Acanthus wasn't about to try pronouncing the actual name, "I think there's some kind of jaguar man. Like a werewolf, but feline. Don't recall what it's called. I think they were priests of a jaguar god."

Income, profit, often tied into greed. But when the job was as risky as that could greed really be a factor? or was it the factor? "Just because someone is willing to do a thing that does not make it a good idea." A sentiment many mages the world over could stand to learn a littler more strongly. "And what would you do if they did, land on your roof I mean?" The enchantress gets a curious look, the scenario one he had certainly never contemplated before.

He reaches for something at his belt, only to remember it isn't there. Not to hard to guess what he had been searching for there. Instead a mild grimace at the lack of the sought item followed by a short sigh. "Well one way to get around that would be only have the show floating? Keep the audience on the bank. But then they might need to have raised seating if they are to far back. Rather defeats the point of using the river for space." And the build was getting more convoluted, not to mention pricier with each added element.

A shake of his head. "No Scarab beetles don't count." The an acknowledging nod as Thirteen makes mention they actually exist. "The only one that humps straight to mind would be the desert spirits, Jinn, either pre or as part of Islam." The most famous example of course being the role that Robin Williams had made iconic. "But I don't know any more of south Americans so that's something." He had heard sufficient tales of shapeshifters to know they existed, but more then that was moving into speculation.

"Of course not," the Libertine responded matter-of-factly, "But good idea can be in the eye of the beholder. Lot of killers think murder was a good idea, or at least their best option. Some of it might be justification after the fact." She blinked in surprise at the question and looked at the Moros, having not been serious about the roof thing. "I suppose I'd escort them off my property as soon as possible." And perhaps hope the parachute doesn't get caught on the radio tower. That would be a pain to get down.

"A barge docked in one location, with bleachers set up for the audience? Long term that'd be very expensive. Riverfront property always is." A memory resurfaced in her mind, and she smirked in amusement, "Ever hear of the McBarge? It was a floatin' McDonald's in Canada, made for the Vancouver World Expo in the '80s. It didn't stay open long. Too expensive to keep in operation beyond the expo. Stayed defunct as a floatin' curiosity for decades, until it sank earlier this year."

A red eyebrow quirked upwards. "Jinn, right. Aren't those Arabic? Or Persian, maybe? Definitely not ancient Egyptian."
