(WI) Round Two

[Witch]

"You guys pulled in a winner. The game download has autoplay." Witch said simply looking back at Cookie.


"I was able to get out and I know better than to try again. Hence being here and asking for help."

[Winter]

"Besides, playing games too many hours can be hazardous to your health", he says, managing to crack out a joke, "but really, we need your help. We must stop this thing before it escalates and goes viral"

[Xander]

"Fine fine."

She smirks as she returns her attention to rifling through the laptop. Joking and pleading aside? She was super curious about the cult.

A few moments pass as she looks around the laptop and reads. It didn't take her long to find the high speech notes and begin reading. It's not long after that she decides to speak again.

"They're east of downtown. Rosemont sound familiar to you guys?"

She peaks up from the notes, looking to the two mages before looking back to the laptop.

"Evergreen apartments. They have a few units. Liam wasn't sure which one had the servers but it looks like he had a good idea of where they were operating but not how."

She reaches into her purse and procures a notebook and pen to start writing down. First an address, then the four unit numbers.

"He was counting them and thought there were seven. Zoned out. Emaciated. Definitely sounds like the peeps back home. Descriptions aren't very descriptive beyond that though. He talks about trying to find more information online but the thing didn't leave a strong presence there. He didn't want to try the game so he stuck to trying to find the cultists. He was thinking about trying to get a closer look with magic but didn't want to risk it while flying solo."

At this point it was stream of thought translation as she read through. She seems to grow more concerned as she read. As she reached the bottom page of the last document her brow furrows and she sighs.

"Doesn't sound like the cultists are mages. At least, Liam didn't see them do magic or sense anything in the few days he was watching them after he found them."

[Witch]

Witch pulled out her phone and punched into her map app the names Cookie provided.

"Yeah- we tried the digital thread route ourselves to no avail." She said in understanding with the now dead Liam's struggle. "Seven huh? Even without them being Awake I can understand his caution."

Even Winter had pushed for caution for themselves. And that was before they even knew what the number.

"Thanks, this helps a lot. I definitely think we will try to get a look ourselves before moving in," she nodded to Winter, confirming his earlier suggestion. "Are you sticking around in town or heading back home?"

Though the question was asked with an easy tone, there was investment in it. She knew the mess this entity had and was continuing to cause was not limited to Sacramento. So it would be understandable if Cookie bailed to go back home and get to fixing her own house. But Witch and Winter needed to know if she would be around as a continued resource.

And just to know if she would be around.

[Winter]

He nods, echoing the sentiment of his colleague. "Your assistance is appreciated, though we understand if you may want to get back home as soon as possible".

"Regardless, we should check those apartments out. Maybe just cut electricity and see if this addiction of theirs wanes while they're disconnected"

[Witch]

Witch nods, "A solid starting approach."

Looking to Cookie, she waited to see if there was anything further that the visiting Mage had to offer.

Unless Vincent/Winter has anything else to run through, I'm good with calling this a wrap on this scene. We've only got 1 day left per the tracker, and with a location I think the next step is going to investigate there. Xander

[Xander]

"I'll be in town until the burial. I can stick around if you need help with clean up and memory wipes."

The offer stood in the air, but her assitance with the laptop didn't seem to have anything left to add.

I'll leave this open another day to give Vincent a chance to respond. Other than that I can get the next scene up a few days after that. Can't wait to see what you y'all got for me!

[Winter]

"Thanks", he says, "uhm, hopefully it won't come down to that", he remarks, leaving the door still open.
