Blood and Faith: The Compound

The flier lures these lost Kine to the same rundown warehouse that some Kindred had staked out in September. The warehouse is situated by the riverfront. Graffiti adorns the outer walls and large sliding doors; windows are broken out of their sills. The initial view shows only two entrances; a large sliding double door, and a smaller metal door beside that.

There is a man standing about fifteen feet from these doors, an electric lamp in his hand. The man is dressed in a black hoodie, and is wearing a black cloth mask over his mouth. A crude wooden sign ‘Come, those who seek the miracle’ is written in something red and mounted in a bucket of hardened cement by this man’s feet.

Conner tries masking his weapon with shadow before he approaches the warehouse, but for whatever reason he can't quite feel the darkness answering his call. Almost as if his sword doesn't want to be concealed. Like it dared Conner to bare it to the world as a sign of his willingness to fight and protect what he called his own.

At any rate, Conner uses the natural darkness around him as best he can. But it's nighttime in Sacramento near the water; there's not many there who would stop him if they could.
Conner stops behind one of the many abandoned vehicles that had granted him cover before and takes in the warehouse and its watchman. The man doesn't look too imposing to Conner, but looks may be decieveing.

He knows that there must be others who are interested in putting an end to this 'faith healer' interloper and his minions. If nothing else, the new Reeve will want a chance to flex her muscles and get some credit under her belt. ​And if Conner's hunches about this place are correct, he'll need all the help he can get.

Helen has brought the full pack. Quarters, baton, knife, even the .357... She'd have left it home, but this is the land where you have to plan for everyone pulling a gun out of their ass, so here it is. She keeps her distance to bouncer guy, because unlike some folks, if he's kindred, he'll pick up on her really quick, and why warn them fellows before they know what's going down ? She studies the flyer again.

Man, these guys kinda lay it on thick, but then, looks like it works... They'll see about that soon enough.

As is, she shoots a message (http://nwod.org/forum/showthread.php...5#post14498005) over to the others and goes on her merry way to where the more hidden door is. Just to see if she has to go crash the party anyway. After all, she's purposefully picked a black shirt and the boots today, wheres the fun in dressing up if nobody comes ? Chuckling, she puts a cigarette in her mouth, but doesn't light it and gets a can of Dr. Pepper from her jacket pocket.

The Kindred of Sacramento have concealed themselves behind cover, watching these unknown Kindred at their work. Over the next five minutes, five people come in from the dark and approach the man with the lantern. He hands each person a small white square of paper and turns to direct the person to the large sliding double door. All five gather at the door for a few minutes before the door is opened. As the door is opened, you note something – the flicker of light. There is a small open flame inside the building.
The man glances around. Perhaps looking for any stragglers for the event. Perhaps looking for observers such as yourself. What do you do? What is this miracle that these Kindred are tempting people with? What should you prepare for? Conner Wells Helen Kingsley Albert Baker

Al appeared on the scene, a bitlate it seemed but he had to change his appearance a bit so that Mr. McCabe couldn't identify him on a glance. Thusly he had dyed his hair and moustache back to the dark chestnut brown it once had been and the sickly paleness than came with trying to force himself to look alive might help as well. Besides he had chosen to once again dress a bit more unconventionally than usual, which in this case meant a flannel shirt checkered in black and red, blue jeans and black hiking boots. Slowly he walked closer to the masked man, but hesitated once it became clear, there was open fire in the building, which made him more nervous than the thought of entering the beasts cave unarmed.

Yet again Conner attempts to conceal his weapon with supernatural means, and again the shadows deny him. A bit of predator slips through with bared fangs; maybe of frustration, maybe of satisfaction. It seems violence calls to him tonight.

He senses approaching presences and is relieved to see Helen, and then Albert arriving. He feels the telltale buzz of his phone and check’s Helen’s text. Looks like the Reeve is Reeving. He looks over to Albert. “Not sure about the exact nature of this meeting, but the fire’s not the real deal. At least as far as I can tell.” He thinks back to the last time he observed the warehouse to find his FIRE BAD sense not tingling the closer he got. Which considering the strength of his senses, seemed like a good thing.

Willing blood to color his skin with life, Conner prepares to exit cover. “I’ll take contact, Priscus. I trust you and Reeve Kingsley to bail me out.” It feels strange, relying on such fickle creatures as Kindred. But these Kindred had proven themselves trustworthy to him. For now.

Conner approaches the watchman with hands up in a non-aggressive gesture. “Hello! Are you the guy in charge? I’m interested in this gift you’re offering.”

Showtime !

As the door is opened and attention shifts towards those wanting to be let in, Helen takes off towards the back of the warehouse. For a moment she thinks she#s seen some familiar figures among those, but she's not sure. Anyway... She knows there's a backdoor and she roughly knows where it is. Might involve some looking, but then, first order of the day is finding it and seeing how easy it'll be to get in there. Or if it's guarded.

Maybe she won't even have to waste her tasty beverage !

She checks again if her jacket hides the artillery and walks on.

"In charge? I would not put it that way, friend." As Albert had walked closer to the masked man, it appears the man has taken notice of Albert. "Come in out of the shadows." He invites Albert. The man turned back to Conner.
"What brings you to us?" A smile. It seems genuine. Yet at this close proximity, it is clear that this man is Kindred. The masked Kindred has BP 2.

"Please, enter. We are serving coffee and cake. Then we shall have a short service. We would love to hear more about your lives, about what makes you need to reach for a miracle."

After a few moments of stealthy exploration, Helen finds the back door. She does not see any guards. It is closed and presumably locked. Is Helen seeing all there is to see?

'Present. Going into the maw of the beast shortly'.

It took a while for him to go on, as he had expected a mere henchman to stand outside, a Ghoul at most and thusly was't prepared to encounter a fellow Vampire yet. Thus he had to calm himself and fight the urge to run away. After that had been taken care of, he mentally added another prayer for his Goddess to be with him and then slowly shuffled forward.

Noticing the sign and the attire of the man, he raised an eyebrow.

A bit dramatic, are we? Though perhaps those carnival preachers have to be...
