Albert had recovered a case from one of the strange Kindred at the warehouse. Somehow this Kindred is involved in the strange happenings. The case has a simple three number combination lock at the clasp.
Should a locksmith be summoned, or would brute force to break open the lock be used?
What would @Alber Baker do?
OOC this thread shall close within seven days, as the decision about the case should not take long

Al sat in a chair on the porch of his dwelling and thought, the case lying at his feet. It was a simple question: call a locksmith or risk opening it himself ? He had the slight feeling he was once again overthinking things... When realsiing that thinking alone did not help, he began meditating with a prayer as he had been taught in Victoria to try and use 'gut feeling'. After a while he rose and went into the house to get a bag with tools. Picking up the case he went to the back yard and put the case down, before taking a hammer and a chisel out of the bag and using them on the locks.

Albert settles in for the delicate task of picking the lock.

Dice Pool: Dexterity + Larceny (no advantage for the hammer and chisel as they are not lockpicks)
Action: Extended (5 successes required. One roll represents one turn -- three seconds -- of work)

Al put the chisel on the lock and began applying the hammer. As he wasn't familiar with locks and how to pick them it was harder than he thought and took some attempts for thwe chisel to stop sliding off the lock. Perhaps he should learn to do things like that better in the future. After a while of not hitting the chisel (accompanied by some curses) he finally hit home and the tools did what they were supposed to.

Albert works the lock. It originally looked to be a simple matter of smashing the small latch. Yet this was a higher quality briefcase than originally thought. After a few false starts, Albert wedges the chisel in a proper place for an appropriate tap of the hammer.
The lock breaks. The tools set aside, Albert looks inside for his treasure. He first finds two fliers that look to be the same ones 'Cal' was handing out.

As Albert is setting aside the second flier, he paused. There was something not quite right. A dark stain on the corner of the flier.
He looks down and noticed something smudged in the case. A smudge any Kindred becomes knowledgeable of- a dried blood. There is a man's wallet and a folded piece of paper. Both appear flecked with dried blood.
The wallet is a man's wallet. Opening it reveals a California driver's license matching the Kindred Albert has been following. The name is Calvin Robert McCabe. The birth date states that the man is thirty years old. The other information tells that he is a resident of Sacramento. The ID appears valid. The other items suggested the life Calvin had led- a few recent receipts to Desert Pain institute. A medical insurance card. A folded piece of paper with medical jargon that have the words "nerve damage", "malignant" and "late stage colon cancer".
The paper has a scrawled occult image and the words " spread the miracle. Recruit more new Blood to receive the miracle, Calvin".
The occult image is not of the Crone. Perhaps a different Covenant could shed light on it.

Al took the contents of the case into his dwelling and began dividing them, for delivery to those that might work on them further. Most of the evidence was bagged for the Reeve, just in case it needed to be archived for further reference. One of the fliers went into a different bag, though it was put with the first, as someone might want to look into that 'miracle'. Finally the paper was singled out for it needed someone else to take a look at it and perhaps discern some enlightenment out of the image. Time to give someone a call...
