Striking Looks
The Delta King, an authentic paddlewheel riverboat, revived to its former glory and moored along the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Originally built in 1927, The Delta King has been restored and converted into a 44-room boutique hotel with one-of-a-kind facilities for riverfront dining, nightlife, weddings, conferences, and special events. Tonight however it had been commissioned for a New Years Eve party like no other, its sole purpose to sell tickets and rooms aboard to raise money for a number of grass roots charities working in a number of areas from foodbanks to programmes for disadvantaged youths. The River Cruise promised to offer stunning scenes as you sailed down the river, a stunning buffet in the riverboats restaurant, the bar would be playing some classical Pianno for those who wanted a quieter space to relax and a DJ and dance floor in the Riverboats event space.
The night promised to be exclusive and at $150 a ticket it certainly was exclusive but all the proceeds went to great causes around the city although a number of radio stations had purchased tickets to give out as prizes over the festive season. The Theme was listed as: Black and White Formal
The Event opened at 8:30pm, the riverboat would set said down the river at 10pm.
The Event had just opened when Apollo stepped aboard and made his way to the bar. He had decided to wear black trousers, a black shirt, a bowtie and white dinner jacket. It was new years even and after a rather stressful Christmas back with his family in Brooklyn he had decided to book tickets for this event and let his hair down for the evening. Tonight for him was about going with the flow so $150 on a ticket and $300 on a room was worth every penny to him. He ordered a cocktail from the bar and observed the room as people started to arrive.
