Corn looked around his empty house, his suitcase next to him. Hard to think that all that remained from his possessions was now in that suitcase, with the rest neatly packed in the big moving van. He had made sure to lock down the Hallow well. He hoped to return here some day and he didn't want to find a Seer there. Some "Strategic" defects were placed on the walls after Maria went down, so that they would have issues renting it out.
So many memories, many of them good, a few of them bad - very bad. And those few bad memories are an important reason they are moving away.

He liked his time as a mage in Sacramento. He became a master, made friends - or at least he hopes they consider him a friend - and rose to councilor. In a consilium of less than a dozen people that was not that great achievement but there it was. Sure, there was a lot of bickering but nothing too bad came out of it. For all their inertia, the mages of Sacramento didn't declare Nemesis or went against each other. Things were peaceful here, after the Seers would be defeated.
Yes, he would miss the place.
