Haunting House

As Halloween draws closer, there is a pattern to be observed. Traditions upheld, but have been disturbed this year as more and more rumours come through about a Haunted House that is just too real. Real enough that it's made the news, people have called the police about the House, but even if there was something fishy about the place, the owners are wealthy enough that all allegations would disappear.

This well, you'd say house but really it's a mini manson, a sprawling estate, several hundred square feet, well crafted and now decorated to the nines, perfect for the spooky season is now allowing cheaper admittance so everyone can enjoy a Real Haunting House.


The Lost have already paid, and have walked passed the gate and are walking up the drive. The Autumn King has a particular interest in this, and where the Dread Lord goes, his wife, the Verdant Queen isn't far behind, and of course obviously walking into potential danger as the couple is Spring's Claviger is ready and waiting to defend her Queen.

[Seraphina]

Was the place real or fake? It was hard to tell, but there seemed to be many who said it was real. As for what Sera believed? She wasn’t sure, which meant agreeing to check it out. Cause, well, you never know. But it was spooky season, so everything was on the table.

The Treasured had gone casual for this, skinny jeans, black low cut tank top and a long flannel. While she almost went with these adorable booties, at the last minute she decided on a pair of sneakers. If she got scared by a scare actor, she had a better chance of remaining on her feet in sneakers. Her hair was down in loose waves and she wore no makeup. Deciding it might be good for later, she tosses a hair elastic around her wrist.

Offering to drive, she had put a Halloween treat bag aside for Sonnie. It had all her favorites!

When they got there, “Well, it’s a beautiful house. And the decorations are on point!” sounding excited to go in.

[Sonnie Wu]

"Uh huh," she mumbled between mouthfuls of Halloween goodies. Providing Sonnie with a bag of treats may have been a mistake. She sat in the backseat, munching and looking at her phone. It took her a moment to finally notice they had arrived. Blinking, she looked at the window at the house in question.

"This is it? A real haunted house? Think we'll see a ghost or something?" Her manner was curious, taking the Velma approach. Does that mean Rhodes and Sera are Fred and Daphne? JINKIES!

No orange sweater, though. The Beast was wearing jeans, a black hoodie over and orange tee, and her Hedgespun boots. Her messenger bag was slung over one shoulder as she exited the vehicle.

Sadly, Scooby Fugly was left at home.

"Do we knock orrrrrr......" she asked, glancing up and down the street.

Rhodes had dressed down, a plain sweater under his coat of thunderclouds, pants and sneakers. He looked out of the passenger's window, eyeing the place curiously. Even if it turned out to be fake? The Fear would be real.

"It is a nice place," he agrees as his Mask began covering up his branches and pale skin. "Worst case? This is a spur of Ann's operation. Best case it;s just some human fun times.... and the emotions will be ready for harvest." He checkles a little, exiting the car. It felt a little like Mom and Dad taking a kid on a day out. You know, the one munching on the halloween candy and getting a sugar high in the back seat....

"Well, that's what we're here to find out," he replied to Sonnie with a shrug. "Could be like Endas - an actual murder site. Or it could be nothing. All part of the adventure." He looked at the front door, taking the handle. They'd paid their tickets after all.

Who knew what would be inside?

As Sonnie voices her question, the front door slams open, bouncing off the wall and cracking the glass window surrounding it. A press of bodies rush forward, intent on the gate, and out - away.

Teh Lost could catch one of the runners, if they a mind to, and if not. The way forward has so readily opened.

Perception if you wanna catch a closer glimpse of the runners, or a strength+brawl to catch one and see what's up, and if you don't want to do either you could enter the House and give me a Perception Remember Clarity!

[Seraphina]

She was glad Sonnie liked the candy. It sucked that Sera wouldn’t be able to go out this year, but she knew her best friend would have stories to tell her!

“Depends on what you believe,” she begins, “some say it really is haunted, some say it’s just a really well-done Halloween display.” Sera wasn’t sure, but she was leaning towards it being fake. Edna’s was supposed to be haunted but she never saw anything. Though her Fae sense tells her not to discount anything.

Another shrug at the question, “Guess we’ll find out when we get there.” They might have it setup as a tour type thing, which meant knocking.

Emotions for him maybe. She’d never liked the ‘taste’ of fear.

“Seems a bit fancy for an actual murder site, but hell, you never know.” Maybe it was what also drew the attention. People loved a good murder story with a location they could visit.

Now the door suddenly slamming open does jump her and she moves back. A mixture of confusion and worry on her face as she watched the people pretty much flee. Sapphires steal a peek inside the open door, maybe trying to figure why the stampede of people. Was this place that scary?

The Beast smiled at the thought, "An actual murder site? You ever watch Unsolved Mysteries? The old one? It was sooOOoo creepy and campy!" She began humming the iconic theme music.

"ZOINKS!" Sonnie exclaimed as she stepped aside at the sudden rush of bodies pouring out of the house, her humming interrupted and forgotten. She blinked in confusion a moment, then reached out to snag a running bystander. "Hey, dude! What's going down?"

"Well, murders can happen anywhere," Rhodes replied, before the door burst open.

He tried to snatch a look at the fleeing entrants - maybe it would tell him something about what they were about to face.

[Saber Sloth]

Rhodes, hands off, takes in the tapestry of Fear writ over wide glossy eyes, tear tracks, bitten lips, fingernails, and...was that blood spatter....? Yes. Across faces like freckles, and a telling story spattering over their clothes.

Sonnie easily catches one of the runners, who flinches but doesn't attempt to pull away. "It's real, it's real, it's real..." the man repeats, over and over and over. Eyes wide, searching but unseeing. Hair a mess, and a obvious sheen of sweat over his brow. Dark sweat stains on his chest and underarms can be seen. "Don't go in...don't. You can't get out if you go in." the man begs, as he comes to some semblance of sense. Lips trembling, body trembling.

Sera heads on ahead, leaving Sonnie and Rhodes behind to deal with the terror filled mortals, and steps into the foyer. It's...beautiful. She can see the obvious Halloween decorations. Perfect and beautiful as the outside of the House they may be, but there's nothing here that the Fairest would think would cause that sort of reaction.....maybe there would be more further in...

It wasn’t that Sera had no fear, because she did. But this just seemed like a really well-done haunted house for Halloween.

Judging by what she sees, that’s what this is. It was a beautiful foyer, and the decorations were on point! Better then her own even! And that causes a slight hint of jealousy.

Calling over her shoulder, “You guys coming?” sapphires looking around again, wondering how far in the ‘scares’ started? “Cause there isn’t anything scary in here yet, it’s safe.” She teases.
