MantleHis attention was off Sera. Good. Let's keep it that way. Surefooted as she was, the wobbling didn't bother her, but it could be a problem if this thing kept trying to topple the bookshelf. She hoped she could put him down before then.
Another knife came out and was flung down at the Pursuer. Sera's luck magic was gone, but she still landed a solid hit.

Through the haze, as she feels the Contract catch, she sees the giant shape of thumpy moving back. Something caught his attention…and saved her life.
Sonnie.
A silent thank you was said as she works the Contract into her wounds. She doesn’t even move from her spot on the floor just yet. Wanting to feel that magic knitting her deep gashes. Her breath was shaky, as was the rest of her body.
Soo sorry I forgot to add that, I was just so excited the healing worked...lol! 1 suxx to down grade a lethal to bashing, 1 suxx to heal that bashing, 1 suxx and 1 glamour to downgrade 1 agg, 1 suxx and 1 glamour to downgrade 1 agg, and downgrade another lethal to bashing

Wounds knit, the worst of them disappearing in a haze of glamour. Sonnie's knife strikes true and the Pursuer grunts out as it pierces his flesh.
The Pursuer doesn't falter, however and continues his attempt to pull the bookshelf down. This time the heavy thing doesn't even budge.

MantleWas the thing getting weaker? It couldn't make the bookcase shake this time. It barely behaved as if it was in pain, though. Still, no reason to stop her assault now! Sonnie's third and final throwing knife appeared in her hand and was instantly whipped at the monster.

She could admit it now, fighting was not her thing, at all. But she would never abandon her friend. Never.

Another knife finds purchase and the Pursuer grunts, blood leaks from the corner of his mouth.
He doesn't faulter however and continues his attempt to pull the bookshelf over. This time is budges, slanting slightly from the wall. But it's still anchored, it's still upright.
Sera, looks herself over, she's not in danger of imminent death, but without proper equipment, or more magical healing she's as good as she's gonna get.

It's faltering! End this!
The primal side could smell the weakness in her enemy.
There were perks to being a Steepscrambler. One such perk was not being worried about her footing. Sonnie didn't need the bookcase. It was a simple thing for her to shift her feet to the wall behind her, the long simian toes easily finding purchase in even the most minuscule of cracks and crevices and imperfections. Even wet glass wasn't a challenge. She could squat there all day like Spider-Man.
The staff wasn't going to do the job. A flick of her wrist and it retracted, as the Beast called upon a Contract she had never used outside of practice. Some of the last bits of her Glamour was sacrificed to the Wyrd as she mentally tugged at the air around her.
The Wyrd answered and the air stirred. There was a whistling sound as Sonnie seemed to shimmer and blur slightly. It became clear what this was as bits of dust and cobwebs and even drops of her own blood were swept into the spinning tornado that surrounded her entire body. Whirling, slicing winds gave her protection... and a deadly weapon.
With this, her expression shifted. The rage had abated. The fear had drained away. Now there was just excitement. Passion. Desire. The Beast grinned down at the monster below her, her eyes wild.
This is gonna be fun!
Contract of Elements 2: Armor of the Elements' Fury active. Sonnie gains 1 Armor against all damage. Anyone or anything touching her takes 2L (half her Wyrd rounded up). She can touch a target to inflict lethal damage, as well.
Hedgespun Staff and Pendant activate.
Sonnie's DEFENSE is 6, 1 ARMOR against Bashing Damage (Kung Fu Merit), 1 ARMOR against all Damage (Armor of the Elements' Fury).
Fang & Talon 2: Beast's Keen Senses active. Sonnie has +4 dice to all Wits-based perception rolls for the rest of the scene.
Elements 2: Armor of the Elements' Fury active.

But then Sonnie did something. Sera wasn’t completely sure what it was, but the Beast shimmered and blurred.
Huh…that was new.
The Nix wanted to use her dagger and drive it deep into the things back, but she doesn’t. Sonnie had told her to run, but she wasn’t doing that. But she knew taking a stab at the thing was going to be a distraction to Sonnie, so she crouches behind whatever she can find. Winching at the pain from her wounds.
Sera takes her action to try and hide

The gale explodes around Sonnie!
Sera moves around the pair, trying to find a place to hide.
And the Pursuer continues in his single minded determination to pull the bookshelf down. It jolts, but doesn't move further off the wall.
I'll need a Dex + Stealth from you Sera! And Sonnie hasn't moved off the top of the bookshelf, I let you get away with climbing up since it's a bookshelf and you're a Steepscrambler, but for the wall if you want to scale it I will need a climb roll.

MantleThis thing had a one-track mind. Smart, it was not. Not that Sonnie could brag about being a genius, or anything, but she was a far sight more clever than this Jason Voorhees-wannabe. In any case, she had to get down to kill it, so it was best to do it on her own terms rather than let the Pursuer pull her down.
Once more on the floor, the wind-wrapped Spring Courtier bared her fangs in a mocking grin at the psycho-killer. "Bring it!"
