PRP: DID Interlude

[Circe]

Mapping out the underground is all well and good, but it helped to know what was above when you traveled below. Digging up to put in a chandelier and popping a pool would be bad and all that.


Hence why Circe was willing to lend her house
to the investigation session. She'd a large table, lots of Internet, and a big LCD that could be hooked into her computer for better displaying the maps from her home's intranet.


Circe also had food too, though with only a single visitor that wasn't as big an issue. On the plus side, the two queens could easily debate whom in their court would be best to "volunteer" to investigate the toilets. Well, the Summer was also monarch now, so volunteering folks sounded fun to her and she could do it, Seraphina could give input. This thought made Circe laugh.

[Seraphina]

Sera arrives at the time Circe told her. But she came bearing gifts, in the form of coffee. Plus, a bag of ground coffee for the Summer. One does not show up to the Summer Queens house without coffee.

There was a knock at the door as the Nix juggled the various coffee items, and her messenger bag. She went casual in cutoff jeans and a bright off the shoulder top. It was still Summer and it meant she could wear less clothes and get more of those sweet, sweet looks.

Circe answers the door, revealing her own attire to the better dressed Seraphina. Her shorts are short but not as short as Seraphina, a tank top with a videogame t-shirt logo, and much less fancy footwear. Then again, slippers are meant to be comfy, not fashionable.


"Sera! Always dressed ta impress I see," Circe greets the fashionista Spring Queen and waves her inside as she sees the coffee, "Con il nettare? Eccellente! Come in, come in, come in," that was a rapid delivery before she slows down to normal speed "I got the big screen ready fer work and chilled snacks."


She'd only one big screen and Seraphina had been to movie nights here before. After Seraphina enters, Circe closes the door and asks, "Fruit or dessert?"

[Seraphina]

“Dressed to impress? Why thank you!” she didn’t think what she wore was anything special, but she’ll take the compliment. "Are you impressed?" striking a brief pose, “But that tank top is adorable!” obviously not knowing it was a video game logo.

Coffee was held up, “I brought gifts!” walking in when invited, “Some extra ground coffee to stock you up and some fresh coffee to enjoy!” always keep the Summer Queen caffeinated. Always.

“Excited to get started, see what we’re able to get figured out.” Which direction would they go?

Placing the items down, she sets down the messenger bag and pulls out her notebooks. “Oh…that’s a tough one! But I have to go with my sweet tooth and say dessert.” She loved her some dessert.

"Yes," she assures Seraphina with a double thumbs up, "But my shirt is waaaaaay cuter. Dachshunds," Circe proudly declares with arms spread and a massive smile. "I'm tempted ta turn Chorizo petting inta a screen saver, oh ho ho ho!"


When Seraphina brings up the gift of coffee, her coffee, Circe's smile lights up and her ears reveal her joy, "Ah, saintly golden gift giver of grand gratuity," Circe is laying it on thick as she leads Seraphina to the liing room, "I am most grateful."


The table is laid out with both the maps and Circe's laptop. The 60" television is currently showing a screen saver from said computer, ironically, the infinite brick maze. Yes, the Summer Queen planned that.


"Cool," she assures Seraphina as she goes through the living room into the kitchen, "It shall be. Flan, fudge brownies, jello, red fish, or fruit smoothie pops if yer feeling healthy," Circe gives her the options as she starts to retrieve things from the kitchen. She brings out the chocolate fudge covered brownies first, placing them on a blank spot on the table. "Ya want anything ta drink? Hot, cold, caffeine, alcohol?"


And Circe returns into the kitchen as she says this to retrieve her guest's preferences. Let it not be said that the elfin Larcenist isn't a good host.


"Unless ya," there is a metal banging noise from the kitchen, "Ya consider grape jelly meatballs a dessert," that'd be the lid of the sauce pan being moved to check on a classic 1980s party food.

[Seraphina]

A sage nod, “Yes, you have the cuter shirt and I now want one.” Because she did, it was cute, she liked cute things. “Oh! You should!” much cuteness.

“I figured it’s the least I can do for you being such a great friend and protector of the Freehold.” The Summer was someone she knew she could depend on if things went south.

“Pshh!” she calls out, “Who goes healthy anymore?! Sugar is the backbone of any healthy diet.” Not really, but to her it was. “Uhh,” thinking, “think I’ll stick with coffee, help keep the brain thinking.” Not that she needed it, but she enjoyed it.

Was it killing her to have Circe be the hostess? Very much. But she knew it was a role she couldn't always fill.

A few blinks, “Grape jelly meatballs?” she wasn’t sure what they were, but they sounded good, “Never heard of them, but they sound delicious!” sitting down and pulling out one of her notebooks with notes from the tunnels, she looks them over briefly. Also with the notebook was the papers she had from the Historical Society.

[Circe]

"I'd hafta hack the game files, oooor just record it ta make the screen saver," she muses loudly.


"Excellent choice!" Circe has gourmet coffee, from Sera's business of course, already brewed but decide to ready more as a precaution. As for the question about grape jelly meatballs, "Did ya miss the 80's? They were all the rage at parties back then," she shouts from the kitchen whilst she spoons out some of the meatballs into two bowls. Circe also grabs a bowl of the red fish from Sweden, because why not. The rest was chilled and would have to stay in the fridge.


Her tray also has room for a coffee carafe, milk saucer, sweeteners, two small plates, and utensils. Circe happily brings out this tray to Seraphina in the living room. "Tada," she places the tray on the coffee table's empty spot.


Finally, Circe bothers to see what Seraphina has brought with for the work part. "Hmmm? Oh hey, ya found a lot didn't ya?" Circe leans down to see what Seraphina has with the notebook.

[Seraphina]

“Sounds like that’s something that should be easy for you!” she had all the faith in Circe’s hacking abilities.

“I missed a good portion of them. Some of the 80’s I remember, but it’s not a whole lot. And it sucks, because the music was on point!” she had grown to really enjoy 80’s music.

Her face lighting up, “Looks amazing! You’re the perfect hostess! 10 out of 10 stars!” she compliments, reaching for the coffee.

Swallowing the coffee, “Well, I have what I was able to gather from the Historical Society, as well as trying to keep notes of what we found and what direction. Though I think Cassandra would have better more detailed notes.” That girl was a genius with navigating. “I though if we had a general layout, and what we found in what room, we could better plan how to clean it up. Well, if we wanted to clean it up and use it.” They were just rough, very rough sketches with notes on what they found in the room.

“What were you thinking for the tunnels?” popping a Swedish fish in her mouth. "Think it's worth investing more time in?"

Seraphina's praise is certainly boosting the hostess' ego plenty. Though Circe most certainly doesn't preen. That'd be beneath a violent summer queen.


Said reigning monarch samples a few of the meatballs as she preps her own coffee. Then sips the coffee as she listens to Seraphina. Well, listnes and turns off her screen saver. Thus, the big TV switches from the brick maze to Circe's laptop's current screen.


This reveals a number of files are open: a word processor document, picture gallery, and an image file. The first she opens and starts typing into as she looks at Sera's notes, "Neat. Ya did fine fer this I'd say. We know what is in where so that is important," the file has a bulleted number list that Circe is typing some of Sera's notes into. "Should make any cleanup a lot easier."


The descriptive notes of where they have been, not the actual research stuff. The very basics only. She then boots up a crude map of the tunnels, showing where they have explored with various numbers matching those in the file.


Circe's amazing software tool for editing this map so they can change it live on screen? MS Paint. Because it is free. Circe has updated the map to include the bar, toilets, and dead end they'd discovered. There are still sections to the East-ish that are unexplored in the map.


Circe stops to sip her coffee, sighing in pleasure, as she considers the uses for it. "Well, safehouse is one option if we find more entrances. Storage, fall back, cleanup shit detail fer troublemaking Freeholders," she shrugs in her reply to Sera. She'd not really thought about it too much. "It ain't like I can use it fer my work work, what with the links ta Funderland."


Blue hands use a fork a to skewer more meatballs that quickly pass blue lips. Wash it down with coffee, "Why? Did ya have some ideas?"
