The good news? The Winds of Chance led Puck right where he wanted to go: staff looked the other way while the Acanthus crossed, patients stayed out of his way and once he caught a door that only opened for doctors just before it closed. He managed to get to the morgue and take all the pictures he wanted.

And once he figured out what to look out for in terms of security, he was able to catch any cameras reliably on his way.
Which brought him to the bad news. Stock was probably already suspicious of Puck and there have been at least four cameras which picked up where he was going, so chances were there was already someone on their way to show the Enchanter the door.

If it was someone else maybe Puck could talk his way out of the situation, maybe even get some more insight. Or maybe he could use the time had to his advantage.
Fuck, maybe he was just being paranoid, and nobody was on their way to get him.

The question at this point was whether he could get this far a second time. With pictures and first hand encounters, postcognition was going to be at least possible if not probable. He'd have to pierce two layers of sympathy in order to do it away from where the sleeping minds would see, but it was a card on the table.

Puck makes his way to the morgue and opens the door for a quick peak into the room, then turns around and walks back towards the loading dock. This time he opens the door and walks out. Glancing around for any security or anything that might be out of place as he begins walking around the hospital.

As far as Puck can tell, things seem to be in order at the hospital. At least concerning possible breaches of security or other obviously out of place things. His streak of luck seemed to persist as he was moving around too - nobody questioned him or tried to throw him out. Was this a case of Sleeper-hubris or simple incompetence?

Could you please tell me how you'd like to proceed?

From chat for reference on the forums-Puck is trying to get sympathy for as many people as possible. He opened the doors to peak through because using an object gives an acquainted connection rather then a described one. His plan right now is to grab the sympathy of as many high profile people (Medical examiners, Mr Stock, etc) and relevant places as possible so he can postcog the time the last body was nabbed.[7:56 AM]

The winds of Fate were not to be trifled with.

Whatever was keeping the sleepers at bay was working, and Puck knew what happened if he pressed his luck to hard. He blew his best chance, but got sympathy on plenty of others. He should fall back soon while the sympathy is fresh. Not that it fades that quick? But Puck isn't pushing the boundaries on security anymore then he already has.

With that in mind, he exits through the loading dock and makes his way home.

I think Puck is going to head back to his sanctum and start doing some rituals. 2 postcogs with high speech for him would be 7 hours, and I doubt he could duck into a bathroom for that long without causing issues (or gossip). I can start the follow up thread tomorrow unless something happens in this scene to stop him. Or if you'd prefer to start it. Whatever works best.

Puck did what most good journalists would do in such a situation: take what he could get and use those breadcrumbs to follow a trace to the next lead.
Fortunately, what set this journalist apart from most of the competition was knowing that concepts like 'time' and 'restricted areas' were only slight inconveniences for the Awakened.

It wasn't much, but he had plenty to work with.
