Funderland

Funderland Amusement Park has been dishing up kid-sized thrills since 1946! It is the only place to take the kids in Sacramento that has nine exciting amusement rides, a concession stand, birthday parties, and more. We are conveniently located in William Land Park next to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town.


Funderland is a public location, but also the heart of Sacramento's Changeling Freehold.

Some Freeholds hide in plain sight, while others hide so well that new arrivals need an invitation and direction to even catch a hint of just where the Lost's stronghold resides. The Freehold of Sacramento is of the former, and has always been, but with the death of the dragon Fairweather, the Lost of Sacramento have taken control of, and are operating an amusement park. A self contained space, a fortress for the Lost, but one where mortals come spend their money, and offer up something more precious; Glamour. The park is divided along the lines of the Seasonal Courts, each having their own ride or featured building, so the Glamour is spiced in the layers of the four cardinal emotions.


Much like the world - the Hedge - beside the mundane one, there is a private world beneath the park -- prohibition era tunnels, passages and even rooms.


For now, the the Park is closed and admittance is only for the Lost. For those moments before Equinox and Solstice, The Eternal Seasons reign....

[Seraphina]

With Spring in the air, Sera thought a stroll around the park would be good. Enjoy the warming weather and the signs of plants regrowing and awakening. It was her favorite time of the year, but she was probably partial to it. Spring was her thing after all.

Tonight, the Treasured went with a long flowing summer dress and a pair of boots. Light was reflected in her golden gilded skin, her hands translucent, her long golden, silver and green hair dancing down her back and brushing the floor. The gentle curves of three curly points, iridescent scales catching the light, of her ears poke through her hair.

Finding a nice spot, where she can be found if needed by new faces or current members, she sat on the grass and pulled out her sketch book. Pencil moving across the paper as she got an idea for a dress.

[Sonnie Wu]

Good thing there were no mortals around today. There might be a panic if they saw this rhesus monkey running around the park. It's nice to have after-hours access.

"Eeeeee! Eeeeee!" she screeched for no particular reason, as she scampered up a nearby tree and perched on a branch. Tail swaying in curiosity, she looked down at the Fairest sketching stuff!

Roll is in my last post. Forgot the glamour expenditure, though. Sorry. Bookkeeping!

[Seraphina]

It was screech that caught her attention and made her look up from her sketch book. Sapphires looking around before finally looking up.

A huge grin her face as she spots who she guesses is Sonnie. Cause adorable monkey has to be Sonnie!

“Sonnie?” cause while she didn’t know of any other monkeys in the Freehold, you never know. “Gonna come down and say hi or simply screech from up high?” she teases.

The rhesus macaque monkey grinned at the woman, and waved a paw at her before descending the tree. She scampered over the grass to join Seraphina, sitting at her side. The simian pointed a little finger at the sketchbook and went "Oook?"

She wished she had her phone for a selfie.

Feeling cute. Might throw some poop later.

[Circe]

Circe walked towards the sound of some animal crying out, a set of the keys for the park spinning on her left index finger. Her usual professional attire loosened up after having to have rapidly moved some things. She'd needed to cool off.

Circe had been working. Those tunnels were good for storing some things, but she'd needed to move it fast, and done it quick! Proper bikers were so much fun to work with. And cooperative with the posers.

But right now, there was the odd sight of what was before her, causing her head to tilt and her suit jacket to almost fall to the ground. She grabbed it to stop that, slinging over her right shoulder. Which kept her left's holster easy to access.

"Uuuuh, Sera?" She points at the monkey, "That Sonja or are ya so jealous of Fugly, ya decided to get yer own pet? And good evening. I guess I should say that too, but la scimmia confusa mi sta confondendo."

[Anatole]

Anatole is ambling.

Dressed in another new suit - this one cheap and off the rack, a little too long in the arm - and waring a fedora with a matching band, he is happily walking and swinging his gnarled walking stick for sheer pleasure. The loud calls hooted from Sonnie Wu attract his attention and he hurries over to the growing group. By the time he realises there is no danger, he has joined them.

"Queens Circe and Seraphina. Eh... oog?"

He nods to the the Sovereigns before turning to Sonnie and attempting his (non Contract) Beast tongue.

[Seraphina]

The wave was returned.

She did not speak monkey, so she was going to have to guess here. “Like it? New dress idea.” But that wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. “Want me to try drawing you?” this could go really bad, drawing animals was not her thing. Not at all. But it might be fun to draw. “Or do you want the pencil and have a go at drawing?” was she going to have to look into learning to speak monkey? Could only Beasts do that, or was it something she could tap into?

Laughing as Circe appeared and spoke, “I’m not sure about the laws over owning a monkey, nor do I think it would go over well at home.” Laughing, “Though I think we should try it and see what he says!” leaning down to Sonnie with a wink. “If I got a pet, it would probably be those adorable bunnies we ran into.” Yes, they were still on her mind.

Spotting Anatole come running up, she waves, “Hey Anatole! Good to see you!” says the Treasured, “Love the hat!” it suited him quite well.
