Circe has her pistol out and at the ready. She might not have had the time to get the big stuff out, but most things can be deterred after a half dozen 45 calibe rounds hit them. And she'd two more then that in her pistol.

Spring MantleLiam waits for the ladies to enter, satisfied that he hasn't raised any ire through his unwitting success, then follows. His height advantage in the rearguard hopefully giving him a clear line of sight of whatever Arcadian landscape awaits them.

The world shimmers, the Lost crossing from Here to There. The vibrant danger of the Hedge blossoms around them. The familiar architecture of the park is represented, just slightly...to the left. Statures loosing their mortal poses, and human features, changing to the fantastical, armour; plate, mail and leather, carrying whips, swords and shields.
Around the clearing, surrounding the Hedge warrior statures are vines and stems, and roots that are very familiar to the Lost, and the the Goblin fruit they claim as Bounty. There is no actual fruits, however. They all seem to have been harvested.
The clearing is quiet, and still. Nothing immediately jumps out at them for Circe to shoot.

"Well, good!" Circe's shout echoes as she drops the back and shrugs out of the trench coat. She hastily holsters her handgun to retrieve the other weapons from the bag. And secure her attire as armor, straps, packs are all in place with aught else in the bag.
The dagger and sheath are strapped to the left thigh opposite her pistol. The assault rifle's ammo is secured on her person as she checks the weapon. It was good. The LED? Bright as fuck and working. Then attaches the bayonet to it and loads in one of her magazines.
"Okay, ready ta rock...Uh," she finally bothers to look around. "Neat, statues give ideas, but modern is better honestly. Wait? Doesn't this place sometimes have fruit in it?" Circe's tone is curious as she asks the others. She needed to patrol the Trods more then just going, Hey what's the Hedge look like opposite this door?

Sonnie blinked and looked about, taking in the unusual scenery. The Hedge was always a weird trip. Familiar, yet not. Alien, yet with just a touch of home. It never failed to be unsettling.
The absence of goblin fruit also caught her attention. "Looks like someone took them all. This is why you should have your own garden. The stuff in the wild gets picked over pretty fast." She nodded sagely, then called upon a Contract, trying to get Fang and Talon to honor it's deal with her.
The feral aspect of the Wyrd seemed to grudgingly comply. Sonnie's senses were immediately expanded to animalistic levels. Colors were more vibrant, visual details sharper at long distances. Scents became stronger and more distinct. Sounds carried further. She was even more acutely aware of her clothing as the fabrics grazed her skin.
She should have brushed her teeth more vigorously before leaving home, as she could taste her breakfast burrito again.
Still, the use of the Beast Contract felt like a good choice. They were on patrol, after all. It was wise to stay alert.
Fang & Talon 2: Beast's Keen Senses is successfully activated. Sonnie gains +4 dice to all Wits-based perception rolls for the scene.
Health: 8, Glamour 7/9, Willpower 4
Gear: Hedgespun Staff (+1 DMG), Hedgespun Boots (+1 SPD), Hedgespun Coin Pendant (+1 DEF), 3 throwing knives (concealed), a bottle of water, a baggie of trail mix, smartphone, plastic keychain of a cloud blowing wind, Goblin Fruit (1 Coupnettle Tea and 2 Ertwen).

Spring MantleLiam looks one way, then the other upon entering the Hedge. Once he's satisfied that there is no immediate danger, he steps to the side to allow Circe space to gear up. "Maybe there were some Hobs that were moving through the area?"
Liam moves over to one of the statues covered in vines, trying to study them in hopes of discerning when these were harvested or perhaps even who harvested them.

Circe sorts out her gear, nothing's out of order from the step between There and Here.
Sonnie's Clause wakes the primal senses, and everything is more, a dizzying rush before practice has the Monkey sorting through the blast of new information.
Liam wanders closer to the vines. With a practiced eye, he takes in the vines, and roots and leaves. Noting absently that everything seems to have been properly harvested. Not left to fall, to the ground, or rot. There doesn't seem to be any natural damages to what's left draped around the statues.
y'all can do perception (remember clarity) of the area, or choose to take the Very Noticeable Path and continue on

"Well, that's fair fer 'em." Circe blithely says about the Trod being harvested, "We don't have dibs on this place. Though if they're still around, we should'a brought inflammable vodka. Usually good fer barter," she sweeps the area with the rifle only slightly pointed down. She is sure to put it down much more whence looking at Liam or Sonja.
"There is the big path." Circe points to the Very Noticeable Path with her rifle, "Or did we want ta try fer something harder?" After a pause Circe decides to cut them off, "I vote the former. I didn't brink a machete, bayonet don't count, better fire angles with bigger route. Plus patrols are on patrol routes," she nods whilst looking down the Very Noticeable Path.

Mantle Dreaming, Cloak of the ElementsSonnie took a moment, adjusting to the overwhelming sensory input. No matter how often she enacted the clause, it's effects always took getting used to. She had to focus on filtering out the useless data. Ignore the cacophony of sounds (was Circe always so LOUD?) and scents (what kind of shampoo did Liam use?) and just pick out a few to follow.
Practice made perfect.
"The path more traveled is fine by me. I've got no interest in pulling either of you out of magic quicksand or whatever else is in the Thorns." the Beast smirked, but the dangers of the wilder route were quite real.

Spring Mantle"Looks like these fruits were harvested carefully, and the fruits were in good health." That was good; it meant that future crops would be healthy for them to harvest later. "I'll keep any eye out for any more Fruits as we go along."
So far no threats to be seen. Liam feels confident that the three of them could handle most of the Hedge's dangers anyway. But it was still a comfort to know that Arcadia wasn't throwing the worst at them just yet.
And then Sonnie mentions quicksand...
"Quicksand? When did that happen? Did you get stuck? How did you get out?" Liam hurriedly follows Circe and Sonnie down the clearer path, sounding just a bit nervous; as any large creature would at the prospect of sinking.
