"Pleased to meet you." He greets each in turn. Anatole? Interesting name. Sonnie and Sarah seem to be fairly close. Work friends? "You'll have to try the candied apples, they're delicious." He displays his own treat, now half-absorbed. Totally worth the nausea-induced bloodbath he'd have to endure later.
"Of course, the more the merrier." Conner lets his excitement show at Sarah's invitation. "Maeve keeps telling me I have to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people." You shit-faced liar. Conner looks at Maeve with boldfaced innocence. The game of mental chicken begins anew; pulling her along until one or the other breaks. But in this case, the breaking might not be so bad.
