"Depending, resources if you need. I have reach within the entertainment community and have no stranger to finding performance spaces. She smiles as Gerrit joins them, "Hello, Gerrit." It's nice to see him after she had been so worried that he might not show. Something feels really off about him tonight though. And for the first time, it feels like she might actually be able to get some insight into her friend. Why did he stop up like that? What's he thinking? Did something happen tonight perhaps? In general, Gerrit hasn't quite seemed like Gerrit. It couldn't still be from that time that they spoke before, right?

Anatole looked thoughtful for a moment: his beard actually shifted, reshaping as his mouth puckered into an "O".

"I'll have to think about that. Your offer of assistance and... Start from scratch? Well. That would push the timeline back a little further... but..."

And Gerrit was with them. Anatole smiled, the expression remaining fixed as the Ogre made his greeting. The burned dwarf's expression simply didn't change.

"I am... As you see. As you see. Our last patrol did not end quite so well. And. Yes. Took the wind out of my sails, as it were. That quest took quite a turn, it did."

Cassandra had come to know Gerrit's tells. He didn't try to hide anything at that moment, but even if he did her close relationship with John probably made her aware of the hints and tricks the Darkling had been teaching Gerrit. But no, as stressful as big events seemed to be for the Ogre, that day wasn't special in any way.
The hesitation? The flicker in Gerrit's eyes, that quick look he gave the Dwarf - it wasn't exactly fear but it came close. She knew about the apprehension her friend had when it came to violence, so if she had to bet she would put her money on that axe-related escalation for possible reasons why Gerrit just stopped there.

But at this moment she realized something else: the way he had been acting the last months? She didn't know about then, but it didn't seem like a conscious decision anymore. He was either lost so deeply in his coping mechanism or the way he had been in the beginning had been the actual act. Or heck, maybe something had happened to change this Ogre's general behaviour in a lasting way. As far as she could tell he wasn't particularly sad or in a bad mood right now.. he just wasn't as optimistic as before.

I'm not rolling to contest your 6 successes, so here's a deep dive into the emotional state of Gerrit right now.

Gerrit listened to Anatole, looked at the stick and then back at the burned face again. Did Anatole get injured by the Bloodsuckle or is he still maimed by Iron Meg? "I can imagine that the two Lost we've brought with us have taken up all the attention of our local.. doctor's. If you want I can go and look for something to help you?" He said it that way before realizing it. Why was he keeping the fruits he'd been growing a secret? As if looking for an answer he gave the Artist a neutral look.
"In hindsight that patrol really highlighted that we need to deal with Ann permanently - if her trap had worked we wouldn't be able to enter or traverse the Hedge without having to worry about tricks like that anympre and I imagine the longer we wait the less sure we can become."
