[Titania]

She stares haughty at the shadow demon now - hopefully - turned protector, a smug grin tracing the sides of her mouth and a fist high in the air, as if to say "WE DID IT".
The creature resists, but it can probably do nothing against her 1billion watts smile.

[Sonnie Wu]

"WE DID IT." says Titania.

Did they, though? The demon's screaming about LIES! begged to differ. It was resisting, obviously.

Sonnie didn't have the same confidence the Fairest did in her emotional manipulation magic. The animal in her was still wary of this predatory thing they were facing. She drew her staff, holding it behind her back and in it's collapsed state, for the moment. She could instantly extend it with a flick of her wrist.

The Beast hoped this would work. If it didn't, she'd have to try and kill the monster... even if that meant killing Frances. Titania was part of her Court. Her troop.

Sonnie would defend her troop before anyone else.

The creature of darkness lunges forward, and screams at Titania, "LIAR! YOU WILL BE RENT BY ME!" The darkness covering Frances recedes further, but it seems to be still attached to her.

The scene:
The shadows are peeling off of Frances and lunging towards Titania. Sonnie has her staff ready and can intercept.

[Sonnie Wu]

Intercept she does.

Sonnie positions herself between the shadow thing and Titania, fangs bared. The Hedgespun staff extends to it's full length, even as she pulses Glamour into it and her coin pendant.

Normally, the Beast would play with her opponent. Fight defensively, letting the enemy flail around until the made a mistake and left themselves open to a proper counterattack. There was no time for such games now, though. This demon was too ferocious, and she had a friend to protect.

The end of the staff lanced out, aiming to jab hard into the center of the creature's mass. If nothing else, this would be the test to see if she could actually hurt the thing.

Sonnie channels Glamour into two Hedgespun items, her Staff (+1 DMG) and her Pendant (+1 DEF). Her total DEF is 5.

The beast's staff plunges through the darkness, and then pops out the other side, dangerously close to Frances' huddled form. The staff finds only a trace of resistance, the shadows too insubstantial to really hurt badly.

The shadow presses forward, and lances of darkness stab at Sonnie. Most are off course, and the ones she easily deflects don't really seem phased by her staff's blocking. Instead the darkness stabs into the bright one behind her, and Titania is pincushioned.

"Ouch", the Bright One lets out as she attempts to avoid most of the hits. Maybe it's time to leave, and with that she takes a few steps behind. With one arm she tries to keep the other in place.

Frustration mounted in her primal mind, seeing that even beloved her magic staff did bubkis, and that the demon was able to just reach past her to harm Titania. She couldn't protect the Telluric. Not against this thing. She didn't have the right weapons or magic.

"RUN!" she growled at the Fairest. She moved to try and cover her friend as much as possible, so they could make a strategic retreat. Her staff lashed out again, hoping to take some of the pressure off her charge.
