PrP Where Timmy Fell

[Scourge]

There is no light in the room beyond. The sickly yellow glow doesn’t extend beyond the torn up cardboard door’s threshold, leaving Titania’s whisps as the only source of light.

The room is square. Skeletal metal supports of a blocky jungle gym hold up mud walls covered in algae and protruding stumps of flesh. You can see the ball joints of a hundred arms sticking out from every direct. On the opposite wall you can barely make out another door, even though it can’t be more than 15 or 20 feet away. Wooden pallets cover the floor, floating on a pool of black water.

And on them stands a thing roughly the shape of an overgrown fat child. But not a body. It’s to lumpy, too segmented to be the body of an actual child. Not unless kids are made up of an assortment of disjointed hands and arms. Though in the dim light, the face made of fingers almost looks real.

Then it speaks to Worm.

“TUGGA WA MAN!?” its voice is a strange combination of clapping, squelching, and vulgar farting sounds that doesn’t sound at all like the cried of a petulant child it seems to be trying to imitate “WY R U BEEIN MEEN TOO MY SEEKRIT HIDEOWT?” Then it caught sight of Liam and Titania.

“FRENS?” The digits that made its eyebrows furrowed “WHASS þE PASWOORD?”

In the far-right corner is a ‘television’ made from a big box. You can tell because it has T V written on it. And inside you can hear sounds of muffled distress. At hearing the sound, the wind dog suddenly starts spinning and howl around and through the changelings.

[Colonel Worm]

Nightmare fuel. That's what this room is. Another scene for Worm's sleeping mind to spit up and make him re-live. No doubt again and again. Starring the one and only Mr. Hands, of course.

"TUGGA WA to you too, buddy," Worm replies cheerily, by way of greeting. He steps into the room and onto a pallet. He holds his knife-wielding hands behind his back to appear less threatening. Paints a big, goofy grin on his face. "Sorry about the door. We were just so excited to meet you," he explains, employing the tone and cadence one might use when addressing a nervous four year-old. "We're new friends!" he confirms. "We saw your sign: 'Come play with me.'"

The sounds of distress coming from the 'TV' do not go unnoticed by Worm and, while he addresses the creature, he turns both his knives in that direction. Hoping that his colleagues, positioned behind him, will get the message. Look after the kid!

[Liam Gelt]

Liam takes a moment to adjust to the darkness of the new room. He takes in the cage-like decor, the severed limbs protruding from the walls, and the hideous thing that now greeted them. What on earth is that thing? That can't be one of us? Can it? Wind Puppy's whines draw his attention to the "TV" box in the far right corner, and he hears the sounds of someone or something being contained. Someone or something in distress...

Liam just barely shakes himself free of the distress calls that haunted his own nightmares. He makes a sympathetic gesture to the elemental, though he can't quite pet it.

Col Worm leads the charge, but appears to take a subtler approach than their entrance. Liam acquiesces, nodding to the Goblin to show he gets his hint about the victims hidden further in. "Yeah, we couldn't ignore a new playmate." It wasn't normal for Liam's smile to be so forced or his voice to be so strained, but he holds in his desire to just bulldoze through as he circles around to be parallel to the "TV". If push came to shove, he could either make a mad dash for the hostages or plough into the weird Hand Child.

[Titania]

Beauty abhors ugliness.
And just like anything pretty, she's repulsed by the amorphous mass of flesh, her face transfigured by an expression of disgust.
She stands back, away from the monster.

[Scourge]

The pallet sinks slightly underfoot, cold water splashing onto Worm’s feet. The creature child give him a strange look when he welcomes with a TUGGA WA but at the mention of the passphrase it smiles. It’s mouth gapes black as the a high pitched ‘squeal’ issues from deep within it.

“YEEEEEEEEEE! þAS þE PASWOORD!”

It lurches slowly forward towards the Colonel, the hands that make up it’s feet crawling inch over inch across the boards.

“WAS U WANNA PLAY?” It asked holding out an arm made of hands clasped one on the other “MORE TUGGA WA? U GOT STONG ARMS.”

Closer to the Wizened, he can see hints of the inside out its mouth as it grins at him again. There's no tongue or teeth. Just wriggling shadows of movement.

The sounds from the TV grow louder and you can hear banging happening now.

The hand child turns angrily "THHHHHHHH," it slurps towards the TV "BE NISE TA MA NUE FRENS." it states before turning to gape at Worm, arm out again.

Reminder from last scene. Make sure when using an ability you use a power icon even if it didn’t cost anything (like from a catch). There are empty green circles for when you use a contract but don’t spend glamour.

[Colonel Worm]

Got to get Jimmy Fingers away from the TV so the Giant and Sleeping Beauty can save the kid... Worm thinks. But how?

Suddenly, Worm has a thought. It makes him smile despite the terrifying creature in front of him.

"My friends are a little tired from exploring your cool playground, you know? I think they're gonna watch TV." He nods toward the 'television.'

"But, how about you and I play a game of tag, big guy?"

Maybe Worm can lead their new friend out of the immediate area while Liam and Titania get to rescuing. From there, it's either fight or escape, but one step at a time.

[Liam Gelt]

Liam has to take a second to process what's going on. Worm's actually talking to it? And it's listening? He had to hand it to the Goblin, he was quite the Swiss-Army knife. And now they had a concrete plan of action.

"Yeah, those monkey bars really wore my arms out." He droops his arms almost gorilla-like and puts on a mock pout "Besides, I think it's time for Eleanor's favorite show..." He looks desperately at the Fairest, hoping between her magic and her brains she could help sell the illusion they were crafting.

All the while, Liam looks over at the facsimile TV to see if it's rooted to the floor. Or if there were any locks or doors on it that could be removed to release its contents.

[Titania]

"Hmm... yes", she says, briefly regaining composure, "the show is definitely starting soon. I would hate to miss it", admittedly, they're working alongside the monstrosity twisted logic.

[Scourge]

The… thing trundles over on its misshapen limbs, arm still outstretched.

“O K! TAG!”

It lunges at Colonel, it’s arm seeming to splay apart as the hands along it’s length open in a writhing, grasping elongated mass of splayed fingers.

Only one success on the very last dice. Unless Worm forgoes his defense entirely, it’s a miss.

The Wind puppy calms down slightly at Liam’s gesture but it sticks close to him. If it had been a normal dog that would have just meant walking along and bumping into his legs occasionally. With the elemental, it literally surrounded him, blowing through his branches, buoying him up.

Getting closer to the ‘TV’ the dim wisps of Titania’s light and his eyes slowing adjusting, Liam sees that it doesn’t look to be held down. He can even see it move slightly with the banging. It’s bottom up with the top flaps unfolded on the floor, except for the far side, which looks to have been torn off for a ‘screen’. They’d have to move to the far side of the room to actually see inside. Or they could always lift it and hope not to find another surprise of a rotten eyed child.

Liam

Except the pounding doesn’t sound like a child. It’s got some heft, whatever is inside. At least a hundred pounds. And the muffled sounds? It’s sounds like boy whose at least gone through puberty.

[Colonel Worm]

Worm dances just out of the reach of Mr. Hands, discreetly sheathing his knives as he moves.

"Oh ho ho, bud! That was close. But I don't know if you can catch me. I'm pretty fast!"

He keeps back peddling, toward the door through which they'd entered. Hoping to lure the Thing out of its chamber so Liam and Titania can rescue whoever is in the TV.

"C'mon! Show me what you got!"

As the Goblin moves away, he burns some more of the Good Stuff to make him just a tad more...slippery.

Worm's defense is 2! Let me know if you need me to roll anything to continue the game of tag. Worms activates the other Wizened blessing: adding his Wyrd to his dodge score, for a total dodge of 6 for the rest of the scene. He will continue to dodge the Finger-Man's attempts to tag him as long as the game is afoot.
