Continued from PrP TRoS Call to Geats...

Just ten minutes’ walk from the American River, Society Church sat on the edge of Sutter’s Landing Park. Nestled away from the rest of the residential area that was just south, the building was more isolated than most would guess, given its proximity to downtown. If you weren’t heading there, there was no reason to go down the street that led to it. Except maybe to find parking for the sports field of Leland Stanford that lay to the south, but that wasn’t the case at night. The field, the parking, the streets, and the nearby air conditioner repair store all lay empty.

It remained to be seen if the same could be said of the church.

Society Church (2711 B St, Sacramento, CA 95816) is a real place. Feel free to use google maps to get an idea of geography. However, only Dirt Nap can use satellite and street view for making his survival roll in the last thread (at least until y’all park).

During first round of posts, please vote where you’d like to park (example: Sutter’s Landing parking lot, far side of Leland Stanford Park, Society church parking lot, ect.). As highest ranking domain official Hazelton can roll Pres+Politics+Status to get final say if she wants OR if there is no clear winner, Hazelton's vote will take precedence without needing a roll.

"In my experience, it's best not to park too close, that bein' a way to leave evidence inside a police cordan, if things do't turn out well." Dirt Nap suggests quietly indicating a spot on East side of 27th street just before the intersection with B street where the Society Church is.

Connor takes the car that doesn't contain Jennifer, then immediately calls her and puts the phone on speaker so that they can have some form of communication between the two cars as they head to the new location. "I would have to agree, we need somewhere close enough to run to, but far enough to avoid road blocks. It seems like a good destination."

[Milton]

Milton is at the wheel of his vehicle, focusing on the road and following the discussion on where they should park.

He's still a relative newcomer to the city. But Dirt Nap is not. The Lord decides the trust the Savage's instincts. Hopefully he won't regret it.

"I concur," is all he says. There's not much more to add at this point. When they reach the indicated spot, he will pull over and park.

Edward does not comment on the specific destination, and instead follows Dirt Nap's lead.
Once parked, in a spot purposefully far from the others, he steps out of his car, and looks around.

[Jennifer Hazelton]

Jennifer turned to look at how her Cousin - the one slightly unknown to her - was faring. Did he still look close to Frenzy?
As talk over the proper parking place was discussed by the men, she looked to where Dirt Nap suggested, and listened to Connor's agreement on the space Dirt Nap had suggested. She spoke for those listening over phone lines, her Cursed voice stating: "I agree, Mr. Clay, Mr. OBrien. The east side of 27th street it is."

Dark eyes look to Edward. Her face was smooth and composed as she regarded him for a beat. She turns from him to face others within eyesight of her as she suggested.
"The people affected ran towards the sanctuary with some unknown people blocking the doorway out. One overseeing the center of the room and one moving to the sanctuary. I suppose the quickest way to verify is to see if the doorway is still blocked."

This was stated inside the car. Jennifer continued. "I could possibly hide myself from sight to determine if there are more nearby, if the situation requires. If you are able to hide your approach from being felt, I suggest you do so." The Nosferatu reminds about cloaking ones' Beast.
"Any thing you might do that could be helpful, while we are still in this car? A quick sentence or two to be mindful of the time already passed. And mindful to be careful over what is said over the line."
With a nod towards the phone. She knew how cell phones could be montored or cloned.

A pause for a few seconds for anyone to make their questions or to state what they might do to help, while still in the confines of the car to try and deny eavesdropping or simple overhearing by Kine.While waiting during this time, Jennifer takes the time to secure one combat knife at her belt for her dominant hand and the other on her calf, in its holster. She strums the power of her Blood, calling upon Obfuscate to hide these changes.

After a suitable pause for verbal contributions, Jennifer exits the car. The Nosferatu looks towards the entrance of the address given by her Cousin, checking for signs of Kindred or ghouls blocking the door. She also listens to her Beast for signs of other Beasts in the area.

[Scourge]

With everyone agreed the two cars pull off the highway and make their way through the residential streets onto 27^th, pulling to the far side to park next to the air systems building about 100 feet away from the church.

There are maybe five cars in the parking lot and the Kindred of Sacramento can see tainted figures milling about in the lot.

BP 1-4

They look to be carrying things to the trunk of one of the cars.

One of them notices the two cars park and signals to the others. They look over and start to set down whatever they’re carrying.

You count at least five Kindred. One in the driver’s seat and four others that were carrying what looked to be books and valuables from the church. One of them matches Addy’s description of the stronger beast in the crowd (BP 4). Three of the Kindred outside have swords attached to their belts.

Dirt Nap

There’s a gate in the fence between the church and the railroad tracks that has been unlocked and opened. There’s a sidewalk to the west that meets with 28^th St. It’d be tough to get a car through, but it does offer an escape route they could take on foot.

Connor

The driver is reaching across the car and looks to be getting something out of the glove box.

Edward

It looks like there’s some spray paint marks on the building. You recognize some from your recent work on social media. They’re gang markings but only half finished.

Jennifer

There’s a shield leaning against one of the rear wheels of the car and two of the Kindred look to be picking up something from the wheel wells on the far side of the car when they set down what they’re carrying.

[Dirt Nap]

Dirt Nap says softly, barely louder than a whisper. "Ma'am, over there, 'tween the church and the railroad tracks, there's a gate in the fence, unlocked and left open. If things go south, that could be a line of retreat. Or, could be how they could bring more in, though it looks like they came by car."

Dirt Nap stands beside and slightly ahead of Jennifer Hazelton, ready to back her play as it becomes obvious they are facing a large, prepared force of Kindred that have already spotted them.

[Connor OBrien]

Connor spots the man in the driver seat reaching for something and whispers. "We either need to get gone or get down, the driver is grabbing something out of the glove box." His hand snakes down to the knife on his belt and he draws it swiftly, moving up next to Dirt Nap in an attempt to block his Priscus from harm. "It's your call, Priscus, fight or run."

[Milton]

Milton hangs toward the back of their party, acutely aware of his lack of weapons and combat training. This is definitely not his preferred arena of conflict. He'd be much happier in a board room, or the back of a crowded restaurant, engaged in a battle of wits.

He doesn't speak, doesn't move, just watches. And waits for Jennifer to answer their colleagues.

Whatever happens next, Milton's positive he's not prepared for it.
