"Call me Spade. Everyone does." Spade leaves his spot at the bar and draws closer to Jim. All the better to hold a conversation
"What do you do Will?" It was doubtful Spade was going to learn anything. But if he could draw close enough...
Morgan nods to Mark and takes a sip of her drink. "Not bad. Busy, but a different kind of busy from Los Angeles. You been here long yourself?"
A delighted laugh tumbled from Myah as Neil did a quick flick with his wrist that had her spinning in place for a number of heartbeats before his sure hand pulled her back in close to him. She wasn't sure if there was a reason for his sudden desire to step up the dancing, but she didn't much care either. The music's tempo beat along her veins and she momentarily debated activating the blush but held off. It was going to be a long night, no need to run her vitae down so early.
So instead she let herself fall into the moves of dancing. Her eyes sparkled as she shimmied up to Neil and gave him a quick wink before turning, molding her back against his front and together they rolled in a complicated move that ended with another spin. Without pause Myah slipped close to Neil and the footwork resumed.
Neil smiled and laughed, delighted at having such a skilled partner. He spent so much time trying to turn geese into swans at Glissade that sometimes he forgot how special it could be to truly dance with a partner, rather than doing the majority of the work as an instructor.
Thoughts of showing the other Lost who the Fairest of them all was quickly faded as they continued, and his hands gripped the svelte waist, then reluctantly let it go as Myah spun away. He answered her wink with a pout, and let their footwork and hands become a dance of teasing promises with him reaching, and her constantly eluding. It was fun, showcasing both their skill with an impromptu story to the dance, and the symbolic frustration that they danced out was only bearable because he knew that Myah wasn't a tease.
"I'm an financial adviser," Jim says. "Not the most fun job in the world, but it pays. I envy artists."
Enzo smiles when she calls him a tease. Then his smile grows more and more lustful as she herself becomes a tease, slowly but surely teasing him along with her dancing. He pulls her her tightly against him, and kisses her deeply. "You're one to talk of teasing."
He keeps his hands on her, slowly turning her in his arms and begins dancing slower, but his body still maintains the rythym of the song. He spins her slowly, till he back faces him and then pulls her against him once more. "We keep this up, we're gonna have to go home early." He whispers into her ear over the music.
"I know." Spade wondered how much Will made in a year and whether it was twice or thrice his salary.
"You wanted to do something different? Financial Adviser. Thats pretty specialized."
Why isn't he at the Lily?
And why hex Mark the random Bartender?
After dancing for a time, Orphan guides Tam back off the dance floor. "I'm not having any alcohol tonight, but I could use something wet to cool off. Would you like something?"
For a moment Alice returns his kiss, having lost herself in the moment. Then suddenly she remembered the dance floor and all those people and she started to lightly struggle against his embrace until the kiss ended. Afterward her expression changed dramatically. Her smiling face was replaced by a cool, emotionless one. She still followed his lead on the dance floor, but even with his arms around her she felt distant and aloof, like Enzo was dancing more with himself now than with her.
"We can always stuff your head under a cold water faucet in the men's room," she replied plainly.
The bar is slowing down and Markos starts wiping down the countertops and washing tumblers. He sends back a rack of Shakers and and pints. When he sees Orphan and Tam on there way over he pulls his hands out of the quick sink and dries them off. "Ello folks can Ah get yah sokmething tah wet your wistle."
