"Oh, right. Hey, Vulture, interesting name; I'm Kaze, Obrimos. No Order." He says, seriously.
He smiles and waits to see if Vulture or Dee will tell her Path, now that she knows it's how things are organized here and a couple Councillors have announced themselves. She seems smart, and kind of formal...he's guessing she's a Ladder. No idea what Path she might be.
Kaze glances at Anima briefly, curiously. Apparently he noticed the almost encounter out of his peripheral vision or something.
He nods and smiles at Corn's friendly invitation. "It's true. So far we did a Scooy-Doo marathon and all three John Wick movies." Kaze confirms the invitation.
Kaze lights up at Aurora's greeting. It's really great she came. "Good!" He says, "Doing good! How's it going with you? Anything interesting?" He asks, vaguely enough for a group meeting, with a stranger.
"I've been picking up some archery tips. Seriously, not like a euphemism or anything." He says, laughing.
Vulture smiled warmly towards Aurora. "Well, in that case, this is an even easier time than I expected, and no fate magic was even needed for the meet-cute." She smirked. "Vulture of the Shamans, newly to the Concillium and seeking membership. I've got work locally, so I intend to live... uh... locally." The last part was shared a little awkwardly, public speaking not really a winning trait for the woman."I've got a letter of introduction from the Concillium of Kandahar if it's needed."
She then nodded a little to Kaze and Corn.
"And of course any invitation to watch movies is great, but if it's with the Arrow, I'm sure I'll be able to weasel an invite from them. Or at least, once I get in contact with my First Talon. But it's nice to know I'll be in good company" Her eyes finished assessing Corn, and the new comers as well, trying to put her best foot forward, even as she took another sip of life giving caffeine.
Arriving back at the consilium after her run, perspiring lightly, Phoenyx hears sounds along the corridor. She creeps along, before she recognises the voices and relaxes, slipping into the room. Wearing sneakers, a sports top and lycra leggings in black, her dark hair tied in a tight bun, she looks around and clocks the new faces before heading towards Aurora. "There are a lot of people here. Is there a problem?" she asks her friend in her formal fashion. "Or is there a gathering I have forgotten about? People do not come to the Circle often outside of Consilium meetings." All the more important to her that someone remained in residence.
"Au Contair, the lack your influence can become a void, an emptiness that exists without notice at first and grows until it reveals itself, only to be sated by your visage and wonder." Anime busts into a wider grin, "I kid of course, but I hadn't realized how lonely I've become without spending time with my few corporeal friends, like yourself and Kaze. Depression is a fickle and dangerous thing, especially among the Awakened. Melancholy should be combated at all costs." He rounds to face the newcomer finally glancing her way, eyes settling somewhere around her forehead.
"And it seems we have a new member to our Path. Welcome Vulture, I am called Anima. Which realm speaks to you the most if I might be so bold to ask?" The eccentric bald man has wild eyes just shy of being unfocused.
Corn raises an eyebrow, interested at the mention of Kandahar. "You're arriving from that far, Vulture ? And you're also an arrow? Impressive. " She seems to be from the English-speaking world, probably an American even if not from the area. And she's an arrow. As such, she could very well be a soldier.
Let's avoid war stories for the time. Corn thought to himself as he's not sure what kind of experience the Shaman may had. Vulture, arrow, Afghanistan. She probably has seen much death. Corn considered using his powers to get a better sense of how much death Vulture has come into contact with, but quickly decided against it.
As he hears Phoenyx arriving, he addressed her with a smile, speaking to her loud enough for Vulture to notice. "Greetings, First Talon." he said simply, allowing the newcomer to introduce herself as she saw fit.
From her seat, she raises a hand to greet Puck, “Hi.” Then shaking her head, “Not really, we’re just greeting our new friend here.” A nod to Vulture. “How have you been?” he was still newish to her.
Scooby-Doo marathon? Seriously? And she was glad she missed that invite, didn’t sound like her thing.
A should shrugs as she sips her coffee, “Not going too bad, just working on a few things, getting them in works and all that.” She can be vague too. But seriously? It wasn’t anything exciting or earth shattering.
Ah, so she was a Shaman as well. Seemed their Path was still growing. A good thing. Usually.
“A letter?” a shake of her head, “Never had anyone bring a letter before, we could just chat.” And an Arrow.
As she was about say who the First Talon was, Phoenyx walked in.
“Perfect timing!” chirps the Shaman as the fire bird talks. “No problem that I’m aware of, unless someone has a problem and they haven’t said yet.” Eyes sliding across the room. “I was in the neighborhood and wanted to see if I missed anything fun and exciting from last month,” a pause, “and turns out we have a new Shaman,” a nod to Vulture, “who also happens to be an Arrow. Did you want to vet her, or have me, or do we rock paper scissors for it?” obviously joking around with her, “Whatever works for you. Oh!” forgetting, “This is Vulture, and this is First Talon Phoenyx.” There, everyone knew everyone.
There was a look of bewilderment and uncertainty as she listened to Anima, “Oh, good. Cause I was going to be a bit, ok, a lot worried about you. I'm none of those things. But it’s nice to see you. How have you been? Keeping out of trouble?”
Vulture gave a quick nod to Phoenyx with a quiet "First Talon ma'am." The final word, despite it's quietness carried a respect that came from service, a word that obviously meant something to the fair woman. She kept her attention on Phoenyx for a moment before addressing some of the arrayed questions. She hadn't expected quite so many will workers so quickly, but she tried her darndest to keep it off her face.
"A letter was the best way to ensure people were who they said they were, especially when Concillii shifted locations so often. But I'm glad that those sort of formalities aren't needed state-side." She smiled weakly before addressing Anima. "My attentions usually remain in the fallen world, if that's what you are asking. While the Shadow and Twilight have their places..." Her voice trailed off, and she leapt at Corn's casual inquiry. "Yeah, my cabal travelled through a lot of that area, but we ended up in Kandahar for long enough to move off the visitor register, and into actual members. When my posting ended, it was time to move back to the states."
There was a darkness that moved behind her eyes as her thoughts moved over her former cabal, and she straightened up a little before moving her attention back to her Councillor and First Talon. "And rock paper scissors is fine for deciding my induction, I'm sure."
Fate makes everything easier. Rather then waste his breathe explaining who Phoenix (who was still a relative stranger) was, the mage simply pops into being at the meeting for Vulture to talk to. Winds of Chance ftw.
Phoenix's question about a problem is left unanswered, as much as he did want to state one.
"Haven't strangled anyone recently so, y'know, so far so good." He's smirking. At least until she asks about last month. Now he's biting his lower lip, thoughts dancing on the cusp of being spoken. Evoked by Phoenix and coaxed by Aurora.
"Just Anima leading a discussion with Skye and Guru about how whipping women can help The Spirits of Fuck to get those women knocked up." Libertines aren't known for keeping secrets. Plus Vulture should know what the doc is thinking about. "Also pretty sure he learned what a thesaurus was and bought his first one. Called me a pleb when I called his story a pervert festival too."
All. Out there. Puck is the unofficial record keeper of Concilium. At least he thinks he is. Had Corn been at them all? Pretty sure Kaze missed one. Where was Campanella? He was cool.
"Winter was kind enough to warn me he had a history? Foul tempered and what he called 'the sexual thing'. Cryptic about the details but detailed enough to know what to watch for."
Was that typical Winter? Puck had seen the guy like twice beyond that one conversation. Also new person is in from Afghanistan, or rather deployed there. Because Arrow. Part of him wanted to ask about Minutemen abroad, but she had enough people pressing her for information.
"Do you want some space?" Eyes are fixed on Vulture as talk of realms and spheres seem to focus on her exclusively. "To talk to your Councilor and Order head I mean. We can back off if you like."
Time Mages knew nobody swarmed Puck like this. He would have been pissed.
Oh. Shaman. Kandahar. Yeah, not what he thought. Not being formal, being disciplined. I should have picked up on that. Kaze thinks and listens as Vulture opens up with Aurora. Good move opening up to Aurora, she appreciates being up front and clear about intentions.
Kaze nods back when Vulture nods to him and Corn. Annnd an Arrow? Huh. Still looks kind of...brainy. Doctor maybe?
"Anytime. You can pick the movies." Kaze says with a smile.
"Hey." Kaze says, waving to Phoenyx when she comes in. He doesn't feel the need to try to answer her questions. He just kind of popped in for no reason himself, and doesn't really know why most of the others came by.
Kaze grins, listening to Anima getting all poetic. Wait, what? He's saying I'm on a short list of his friends? Man. I can't remember anything we did together except that one time he kind of tried to blow up the house I was in and when he called me a puppy. Which I didn't actually mind and he explained later about the house thing...but still, if I am one of his few friends, I need to up my friend game. I guess I should hang out with him. Oh wait, wasn't he looking for people to do brain experiments on or something? So...like something casual and public; Starbucks then.
Corn is on the Kandahar thing. Really into the new mage. Like checking her story. Yeah, I'm thinking some space is a good thing here. She's got business with Aurora her Path Councillor and Phoenyx, her First Talon. Not going to be into the chit chat right now, I would guess, but what do I know? I thought she was a Ladder!
Aurora says hi to her fellow Councillor. Good move to bring it back to business, even if this isn't a scheduled meeting or anything.
He grins as Aurora accepts his offer to not be specific about her hobbies or whatever. He could have asked if she was finishing any new furniture pieces or working on any new brewing project, but hey, that's her business what she's up to.
Cool, the Path stuff was happening. And Order. Like, simultaneously. All good.
Sounds like Anima and Aurora actually do hang out, at least. Unlike him and Anima. Yeah, he should do that.
Discipline alright. Kaze thinks as Vulture all but salutes Phoenyx.
Huh. Shifted locations a lot. Sounds like a security measure. And not a specialist with the Spirits, it sounds like. Her Cabal. Sounds like they were military. No telling though. Definitely for her though. Army? Sounds like not just her posting ended. Definitely none of his business how things ended with her Cabal or what they were doing. Kinda hope Corn or someone doesn't ask about that either. Not here and now anyway. Not you know, when no one's drinking.
Puck, is...yeah. That's the difference between being Apostate and being Libertine, I guess. Shodan was like that too. I miss him. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if he'd somehow ended up being a Councillor though. Keeping the Atlanteans honest, I guess.
A small wave is given to Corn in recognition of his greeting.
Phoenyx blinked slowly as Aurora explained and did introductions, giving her the small smile she does. "I'm sure we don't need to go that far."
Turning to the new magus, inclining her head at the greeting. "Talon. We have relatively few mages in this consilium, so there is a less than formal structure for official recognition." There was a small hint of cynicism. "Still, some of the paths have councillors as main representatives, should we have need of them - they usually do official recognition, though we do not have much in ceremony. I am also the Concillor of the Obrimos here." She looks to Aurora. "Perhaps you do the acknowledgements now Aurora?" Looking back to Vulture. "Then if you have anything you wish to ask about the Arrow here, I will be happy to discuss them with you. Official concillium business is next month and meetings held quarterly, but we can meet before then. I would like to see the letter, if you do not mind." It was nice to have someone around with formality and protocol for introductions.
Dark eyes watch Puck curiously, the joke unsurprisingly failing to land with the Arrow, and only growing more confused when he discusses the last month's discussions. She purses her lips, though her expression clear of silent disapproval.
Kaze is given a small smile, but the Talon's eyes focus back on the newest Arrow in front of her. "Are you set up with a place to stay?"
