The Huntsman, a year long threat, but one the Lost hope to render toothless, all across the City, the Freehold settles in to execute their tasks. They needed to know the Huntsman’s patterns, the elements of his tale, for knowledge was power, and the Others are their Stories.

As I’ve said for this we’re trying something different for this leg of the Plot!
Montage Time~!
How this is going to work, there will be two parts. The Montage, then we’re moving onto the meat of the Talecrafting.

The Research/Song Composition will be Glimpses, but instead of posting them individually, we’ll post them here. Since you’ve already agreed to work together we can handwave the sharing of info part between the Research and Songwriting. So both of those glimpses can be written and posted at the same time with their separate rolls...rolled.

The Research is finding the Pattern, and the Songwriting is implementing it into the Freehold’s narrative.

Yamiyo can roll, INT + Academics. Researching on the University computers will be a +0, using your Allies would give you access to the University Library and the bonus of their Merit Rating.

If someone other than Yamiyo wants to do a Research Glimpse in this montage as well, you can also roll INT+Academics as well.

For the Songwriters, we will go with a INT + Expression

All of the Rolls can be extended actions. (Attribute + Skill = number of rolls.)

If you Do Not want to spend time Researching mundanely, then you May Spend two points of Glamour, and then make some plea to fate. From Swords at Dawn: “maybe she knocks on wood, throws salt over her shoulder, says a little prayer. Something to give her an extra kiss of luck. No roll is necessary. Spending the points and making the entreaty is all she needs.”

If you do choose to Spend the Glamour, note it, spend using the Power Icons.

After the Pattern is established, we can move onto the Hook.

So research time phone turned off before heading from the campus to her home, damn this was a bit scary. Only having one semester of college behind her did not exactly leave her with that much experience, having just barely gotten back into the groove of even being a student again.

Starting her research on her computer at home, all alone fingers flying over the computer desktop trying to pin down as much information as possible.

Initially having a hard time, the topic being to vast this being or things that could for all she knew just be a part of him or not even him were everywhere absolutely everywhere. Celtic myths, Norse mythology, association with Odin, even native American lore holding more than a few tales that could possibly be linking them together.

Steeling herself and trying to compose and search for depths, to find the hidden gems, slowly peeling away excess information or things that just didn't seem to fit in.

Taking a moment to breathe in, with the information now a bit more manageable or at least narrower so was it more easy to just try and find the roots and look into what she could find and double check to compare things over and over again before finally writing up as neat a paper as she possibly can. Printing out several copies to share with the rest and just for the freehold to have as just in case, at least it was something not her best possible work but the best she could do for now and paper copies were better than email, Circe were a skilled hacker who knew how easily someone of his followers could track their mails.
Making a copy and placing it on a USB before deleting all information from her computer in order to feel as safe as possible that no one could get into her computer and get the information. Along with unplugging her computer, she tended to sleep at the sorority anyways and this were the safest she could get that no one would see what she had been up to.

Not putting her phone back on before she were far away from home and walking the way, at least no one should be able to have digitally followed her that way then again in this world who knew what tricks people might have.

[Cassandra Reeding]

Cassandra sits at home with her laptop, composing software ready to go. Instead of immediately going to writing, she just takes time to sing random melodies. She finds melodies that express a range of emotions - joy, sorrow, triumph, majesty, apathy, anything that will get her head in the right mindset. Anything that she finds that is catchy enough to write down. While she sings to herself, she does other tasks, making food, cleaning her apartment, other mundane tasks that don't require much brainpower.

She takes on the stereotype and takes a long shower, cleansing away the thoughts of previous failures, focusing her mind on shower melodies. There is a timid moment while she wonders if at some point her neighbors will bother her to be quiet, but thus far, she has heard no knocks or any yells asking for quiet. Of course, the last time she got noise complaints in the last apartment she lived in was for a much different reason...

That timid moment fades away and she finds herself lost in that suspended time where time feels both stopped and moving too quickly for the mind to comprehend. She finds a melody that gets stuck in her head, something simple at first, a bar that just sounds nice. She begins to build upon it, finding ways to enhance it, figuring out where it needs to go. It is like creating a story in itself, a song. The emotion it needs to convey needs to match the story it is trying to tell.

She continues that train of musical thought as she comes out of the shower, dresses herself and focuses just a bit closer. As she builds upon that idea, crafting phrases, she closes her eyes and dances with it. She acts out the drama of it, looks at how to bring it to life even beyond its tune. What she begins to build is catchy from the moment the sound manages to grab your ear. Once it is tangible enough, she gets to work on her computer. Using the software she'd purchased, she begins charting it all down so she can replicate it later. After each phrase, she sings it through, making sure the melody and rhythms written, match exactly. She even breaks out her cello to hear it coming from a non vocal perspective.

To anyone who doesn't read sheet music, the notes and expression markings she adds as she goes look even more foreign than the notes themselves. She writes down the exact tempo, the moments of crescendo and decrescendo, fermatas and ritardantos at the ends of specific phrases. She knows, however, that this needs to be catchy enough to go from a 1 minute tiktok or other current apps to a piece on Youtube or other accessible audio sharing websites. It needs to be the kind of piece that others want to hear fully, like that song Driver's License. Hell, like all of the trends that come from those expressive pieces. It's a good thing sea shanties are back in style at the moment. It makes it seem almost reasonable that any kind of catchy melody will catch on.

Normally, how captivating her music may sound doesn't quite sound like this. It is beautiful, sure, and it really digs into the minds of others, but even this manages to get into her head and she can't stop singing it. She can't stop playing it. It... it's almost annoying really. After a full day working on it, it is as if she cannot get it out of her ear.

She begins to feel that no matter what she does, it doesn't stop ringing in her ear, so she spends the day playing anything but the song until it is completely gone from her mind. Only then does she go back to it and play it again to see if it is still as catchy as it was as the first time, and it was. Time for victi-friends to listen in and see what creativity they may bring to the table.

Sonnie Wu didn't know nothing about no song writing! There was one time, when she tried. In third grade, when she thought she'd be a songstress (or an astronaut, or a cowgirl, or...). Her mother had made her take piano lessons. She was smarter, then. Now, she didn't even remember what all the little note symbols meant.

Sooooo... yeah. The Beast decided not to even try it. The disaster that would result would be hilarious, but her talents were better served elsewhere for this endeavor.

Researching myths, also not her strong point. The thought of going to a library made her eyes glaze over. The only mythology she was already familiar with was Chinese (and a little Norse. Thanks Marvel Studios), due to her upbringing. Naw, let the nerds handle that part.

Instead, the Claviger would help by... by...

Hm. Wait, there was some magic stuff she could try! Ask the Wyrd itself for help! Maybe it would take pity on the dumb monkey and lend a little assistance to the project?

How though? After some consideration, Sonnie went out to the store and bought a bag of fortune cookies! Of course her method would involve food. It was even a nod to her heritage... though fortune cookies were a strictly American invention. But hey, she'd never been to China, either! So it works!

The moment of truth. The Steepscrambler opened the bag in her kitchen, reached in, and plucked out a random cookie. "Ok, please let this fortune bless our weird project with good luck!" she said out loud. Nobody else but her dog was there to hear her, and Fugly was busy napping.

The cookie was broken open. The tiny slip of paper was removed. She unfolded it to see what it read....

Since titania will be dancing and singing, I assume she needs to first read the score and design a choreography, and she can only do that during the Montage phase

Finding the truth of the Huntsmen among the many varied stories of the Wild Hunt with their own Huntsmasters is quicker then the Fairest thought. The work of hours, rather then days. The zing of the Wyrd and the Desire spiced Glamour only making things easier.

They find three things, always just three things in common.

The flowers.
(blanketing the grown, the cape upon the shoulders, the heraldry)
The White Hart.
(Loss/Pride/Hate/Rage)
Three Souls Taken.
(tied down in the Poisoned Hospital Dream. missing, dream beds empty. 3 new hunting hounds)

For Cassandra, her software sings. Melodies and rhythms and harmonies. Her efforts, birth an earworm, no one will be able to get it out of their heads. People who haven't even head the song will know the song. People will be humming it while doing the dishes, and kids will dance around belting out the lyrics.

And those with the coordination will try to follow along with the choreography....

The track was on, her mind racing at its tune with forms and moves. A delicate hand works on blank paper, sketching the outline of a costume.
And so, hours go by, practicing in front of the mirror and trying to adjust her wisps to find just the right light. And although her sense of timing is pitch perfect, she still can't get IT.

Then she sits on her bed, meditating on he myriad of combinations most fitting their audience.
Finally, drowsy and spent, she falls into sleep. Her breath drowned by the still running music.
Sleep brings sound advice, for at dawn, her mind is flooded with knowledge she didn't know she possessed. From the Swan Lake to Modern hip hop moves.
Her hand flows effortless over her notebook, animated by a devilish instinct.
Maybe the costumes leave a bit too much skin exposed... but in the digital era, it sells. And she's a saleswoman.

.....which only those with several years experience with dance will be able to execute to a T, and even then it will take them hours upon hours to feel comfortable with the movements. The internet whispers, over the skill and grace of the dancer, others rage at the choreographer, for her ambition and ruthless efficiency, her economy of movement.

The dance, like the song is something that will stick in the minds of those who've seen it, and who have not, for years to come. Awakening a competitive edge, and a Desirous drive to perfection...
