And then comes Circe, the Queen of Puns! A smile appears as she watches the back and forth. What would Circe’s goods get her?

Then Vivian jumps on the band wagon to buy bones! Seems it was going to be a popular item with the group. The Nix really has no use for bones currently, though she bets they could be worked into a stunning dress design! Maybe a corset? Not her favorite things, but she could see a Hedge Beast bone providing some kick ass structure and even defense. It was something to look into. But she wasn’t going to try and get any today. Too many questions.

As Patty’s attention turned to the Summer Queen, Sera was quite ok with it. She figured any attention she got would be when she was trying to trade. And that suited her just fine. Sometimes all one wants to do is blend in, go unnoticed.

So with a small smile on her face, she follows the barter. How much would Circe get? Would she be able to haggle? Or were prices set? It was one of those things that could change from Market to Market. But she still keeps her eyes open to the going ons around them. One should never let their guard down. Especially when the two Summers were bartering.

"Well," she picks up the bottle, "If ya want me ta show the grams, this is in mass production," terrible terrible puns, "But let's get ta the dirty, it be thirty." As for Patty's belief that she had a dog to treat, she could go with that. She waves her hands, "Who doesn't want ta spoil a puppy? That look when they go from, I will eat you to yay you are food giver! That is always a great sight."


Though she had another thought. "Are there any Iron Side spices yer interested in stocking? Just fer future reference if I need more bones. Oooh," Circe smiles, "Like maybe capsaicin? That's the stuff that makes peppers spicy ta burn yer tongue whilst cold. Unless yer a bird. Iron Siders eat 'em fer fun." After a second, the blue elf keeps talking, "Well, ta laugh at those too weak ta keep up with the pain, but fun is fun."

Vivian waited her turn with Patty, closely attending the conversation between her Queen and Patty. Patty seemed much more respectful of Circe, which made Vivian relax a bit. More information about what the bone vendor wanted was always good so they could get more bones for armor later. They had talked about going on a grand hunt to get bones, but you know, this was so much more safer!

John did what he did best, stayed still, stayed quiet, and kept a lookout. Never knew what one might find and also which thieves might not be deterred or have ways around the bands. Though Circe’s questions would help let them know if they were interested in Iron Side things at all.

"Oh-ho!" snickers, and a beaky grin, "The only meat I don't stock is puppy! Their faces are just so cute~!" she sings out, "Then bright eye'd I'd give an arm and a leg for some saffron. And some five spice! I heard about that! Must be really good with five whole spices!" comes her enthusiastic reply. "I'm a bird! Ha-ha! Wont burn me~" Patty's head tilts, as she takes in the bottle. "Here, I'll give you enough to fill your pack, for the bottle, and I'll weigh you down too, for your rations. Any preferences in bone? Or should I go through my scraps?"



Sera and James see the same thing, a birdy beast kin, purple banded, happily battering with the Summers, inside the shop is the same as before, a butcher shop turned up to 11, with a nice sprinkling of fantasy thrown over it all. Around them the Market continues with it's purpose, bartering happens, Lost and Hobkin alike move from stall to stall.

Circe claps in approval, "True that," she nods at the bird Beast part, "Just like ya can't tell when I eat blueberries," she sticks out her tongue. It is a little blue. As for bones, "Saffron and five spice? Sure! Oh, do ya want browning sauce next time? Color the meat and all that." Then a look of worry crosses her face, "Uh, I like clapping. Especially fer someone as fun as you. Yer a total hoot. Should I specify something so my hand doesn't have separation anxiety? Like briar wolf maybe? THOSE aren't puppies. Like, what briar wolf bones can I get fer choco and spice?"

Circe had no desire to have to build a prosthetic hand. Even Hedgespun, it'd be difficult to pull off with only a single hand.

Vivian stands by, watching, and listening to the vendors preference. Ohhhhhhhh. Saffron was expensive, but Five Spice Powder, wasn't. You could get that in bulk at the Asian grocery outlets in Sacramento. She felt proud of her Queen for figuring out a bone connection for them that didn't involve dragons.

Vivian winced slightly at her own nasty thought. She needed to chill out. All this standing around was making her grumpy. Keep telling yourself that Oona.
