The Man in the Grey Hoodie, one of the Witnesses to the Huntsman's ride through downtown Sacramento one year ago, belligerent, rude and obviously scared, he seemed to have made some friends. Friends who used to watch the Huntsman's Effigy Tag, and who’ve followed the Lost, glimpsing into the Hedge when they opened a Door to flee.

Now it’s time to deal with this would be Cult.

Starting where the greyhoodies had been seen last. The dilapidated alley, cobwebs. Broken windows, rotted boards nailed over them, several of the boards are nailed up over doorways as well, one of which the Lost had broken to open a Door into the Hedge still shows signs of their forceful entry. The concrete blocks the pass for something akin to a stoop is strangely well kept.

Not all threats to the Freehold were beyond the Hedge or wholly supernatural in nature. Ever since the Queen of Wrath mentioned a cult, Gerrit has been asking around here and there. Cults were terrifying on their own, cults worshipping a True Fae? That's something that needed to be dealt with.

When he heard that some of the Lost were about to investigate this problem, he gladly offered his help. Arriving at the alley he had been told he idly worried that he somehow got it mixed up or took a wrong turn somewhere on the way - there was nobody else there. That's because you're early, give it a rest.

He looked for a spot to inconspicuously watch the area while he waited for the others to arrive. Plain jeans, a windbreaker, his backpack, and a baseball-cap made him look like just another pedestrian (maybe taking a shortcut or relieving himself in that alley). He brought some items from his toolbox and writing utensils - having no prior experience to playing detective he wasn't really sure on what else to bring. I'll probably have to depend on my gut and intuition here. And of course on the help of the other Lost - even if he knew that the other member of the Onyx Court weren't going to be a part of this operation.
That's nothing to worry about - we'll probably do some digging and nothing dangerous will come of this.

So he told himself.

How long has it been since she had last encountered the Huntsman hooded cultists? A year? It had been so long, but they had been quiet.

Too quiet.

It itched Sonnie's animal instincts, irritating her. Why even have this cult if they do nothing all this time? What if they weren't doing nothing, and were instead active and out of sight of the freehold? That was worse.

So it was the Beast had returned to this run down neighborhood. Rough streets didn't scare her. She was capable of protecting herself from muggers and junkies. Spooky cultists were a different matter. They were... unnerving.

The Monkey was outfitted for adventure. Jeans, hedgespun boots, and a red hoodie under her Sacramneto Kings jacket. Hair tucked up under a black beanie. Weapons secreted in her pockets and sleeves. Messenger bag (complete with picture of a monkey on it) slung across her torso.

Time to go hunting.

[Circe]

Cults were bad for business. Oh sure, they might buy up lots of illegal stuff but the feds tended to drop the hammer on them at some point. Throw in the True Fae as what they worship and any Summer would be ready to go to war to shut that shit down.

Yet Circe wasn't dress for war. She was dressed casual and mostly for hacking. Denim, hiking boots, yellow tinted glasses, and a grey hoodie sweater. Seemed to go with the theme of those they sought in her opinion. And she could blend in! Circe was also familiar with the underbelly of the city, even if she was the one they came to instead of the other way around.

Summer was the spear against the Freehold's foes be they any kind, throw in Groundskeeper and Circe must be here for this. Circe had much hidden on her person in the pockets of her pants or coat. The suppressor she'd machined for instance wasn't attached to her gun yet, just in case she needed to toss it. The gun was legal after all.

Now it was just a matter of finding the rest of the gang. And then they'd catch themselves some crazy humans.

Personally, she didn't like this one bit. Last time they had interacted with these people, she broke a pair of very valuable heels (she was really fond of those shoes, thank you) and almost lost her life.
Rhodes almost lost his too... but whatever. It was his fault if they were into this mess to start with, they should have respected her plan and let the Deluge she summoned wipe away their traces. Little did matter they still were unaware of her plan, oops.
But there's no point in crying over spilled milk. And so, she followed along, to put this "CULT" to rest once and for all.
Today she opted to dress casually. Of course, casual doesn't mean inelegant, just comfortable. And so she joins her group of friends.

One after the other Gerrit saw them arrive, but nobody said anything. There was a sense of gravity and determination around the Lost - good. He had seen the loud and carefree side of them, so this change of tone was a welcome one.

He stepped to the others and gave each of them a short nod. "Hello everyone." He looked at Sonnie and considered introducing himself - was this the first time they really got to talk? - but decided against it. Who knew, maybe these walls had ears. "Before we get going: can someone give me a quick summary of things I should know?" Yes, doing this here and now was probably not the smartest move, but it beat going in totally blind.

Arriving a bit late, dressed a bit provocative along with a jacket. Wearing a pair of sexier leather boots without heels, if they would need to run so would that be a hindrance but hopefully so would her small illusions fix up her look for anyone who saw her. She were not big, nor a trained fighter rather she hoped for the social chance. Hoping that she would be able to speak, charm and use her looks to gain insights if they found this group. Opting to not have any weapons along that could hinder her or make her look suspicious in any way, no she was here hoping to use her sneaking skills, thieving skills or hopefully charm her way depending on what would happen. As such she had not brought much that could make her seem hostile.

Watching the group and silently walking into it, giving them all a soft smile being a bit ashamed that she was last to arrive.

Giving Gerrit a look.
"Can you take this for me please?" Handing over her mace towards him, it would be a hindrance for her to carry.

[Saber Sloth]

Passing by a scant few people out and about. If they kept an eye out, they would have seen unhidden confusion and hostility, the Lost amble into the alley. Silent, save for the late coming Succubus and the Ogre, they stand in the alley, clustered around the door Sonnie and Titania remember fleeing through, into the Clearing with the Stag Effigy.

A piece of the concrete blocks of the makeshift stoop falls, and a fat squeaking rat shimmies passed the hole, out into alley. Running with all it's rat power to the overfilled trash can several meters to the right.

[Circe]

"There is a cult," she answers Gerrit, "They're mostly online with lots of stuff. They are supposed ta dress like this," Circe pulls at her own grey colored hood. And then Yamiyo arrives. Va-voom. And a mace? Circe would be very amused if Yamiyo had brought the more medieval kind of mace.

Circe reacts to the rat by reaching into her sweater for something that she doesn't remove. Then back to Gerrit, "And these idiots are worshiping Them. I don't know much more then that, sorry."

Sonnie turned and nodded to the other Lost, giving an amused smile at Titania's idea of 'street casual.' She listened to the others speak, then nodded. "What Smurfette said. They serve Hunty in particular. About a year ago, Ellie and I found this graffiti in an alley, marking His claimed turf. The grey hoods were all over the place. We had to book it into the Thorns to get away from them. Then we ran into some wolves and it was a whole thing."

The Beast glanced about, alert for suspicious individuals, "Oh, and they can see the real us. At least one of them could."
