Dusk falls early the night after Edward called Isabelle. The lengthening of nights was a gift to all hardworking Kindred. Edward intended to accept the gift with grace.

Let us begin with lead generation.

He searched through all mentions of private art shows in Sacramento; compiling a list of who to approach. He took note of any special mention of local artists. He doubted he'd see any direct mention of Melanie, but Edward took half an hour to do his due diligence, searching for any references to her as well.

He then created a fake art collector online identity. Taking the time to write some saccharine crap about the masterpieces of the criminally unknown Small. Making sure to flesh out his phony presence. It wouldn't stand underneath even passable scrutiny, but for the work of a couple hours, it wasn't bad.

Edward spent some time combing through the hits that he generated from his searches. Some time was spent looking through a collection of artists hosted at special events, yet Small was mentioned in none of these. Local artists brought up several hits. Edward managed to find two past events hosted that featured Small in the last six months. One showing was at the Glass house last August and another at the Sycamore this past September.
The most interesting bit was a recent entry made the night before at the website ‘Sacramento 365’ which organized local events.

‘Rosario Small to host private event – Red Blood and Scars – to select few on -today's date - 9 PM. Contact Melanie at 555 – 6484’.

Sacramento had several art galleries that dealt in paintings. He managed to find a few mentions of Small scattered across the web, yet nothing was current. The biggest hit was a website entitled ‘Rosario Small, artist’. It appeared to be hosted by Small himself. Edward recognized the contact information that had been found on the cards scattered around the crime scene. There was a current email address that functioned perfectly when brought up.

Horatio puts a finger up as the line picks up. "Hello, yes I was calling in regards to your gallery at Sycamore. I am sorry, did you say Monster Mash? What idea may that be? I may be able to help with it."

Horatio had been chasing down a lead on where Small was hosting his shows. With what Edward had discovered about a past event held at Sycamore, it was promising that there might be an event at Sycamore. The fact that someone named 'Melanie' - the same name Dirt Nap and Horatio had encountered- was promoting an art show for Rosario Small suggested a strong chance that Edward had found the correct contact - Melanie. The showing was for tonight - in two hours!
