There is no starry sky in the Hedge. And although she leads them with surety there's also naivete in her judgement.
She bites her lips. "Ehm, I think we're not too far off from the place. Though, the landscape has changed, so I might be mistaken. Sorry", she says almost sounding apologetic.

"The Boy Scouts, we are not. So much for our Hedge Navigation Badges." The Beast sighed and went to a nearby briar patch. She fished about a moment before selecting a large thorn, which she carefully broke off.

"Luckily," she said to the others, "I have an alternative method." With that, she pricked her thumb with the thorn, drawing a bead of blood. The catch fulfilled, Sonnie utilized her Contract, hoping it will guide the group to their desired destination.

Anatole watched Sonnie Wu with much interest. He didn't disturb the Emerald Monkey while she worked, feeling that to enquire would be almost an insult. Not when Sonnie was obviously using a Contract - the mystery was worthy of reverence; as was the act.

He waited quietly for Sonnie to make her findings known.

[James Turner]

James really had no idea they were lost until Titania had said something, sure the thorns were getting thicker and the shadows seemed to be creeping closer but the hedge was…strange. He slipped his thumbs under his backpack and pulled it in close seeing Sonnie prick her finger and enact a contract. His eyes and ears open and darting, taking in all the hedge had to offer. He didn't want to be caught unaware after all.

“Well, where to fearless leader?”

As painful as it is to admit it, the Monkey is really in her natural environment.
She observes in religious silence as the threads of Glamour are woven into a contract. If the Fate is not being capricious, their furry friend will lead them through a safe route. And so she follows.

[Sonnie Wu]

Like a dowsing rod, she let's the thorn she held between her fingers pull her hands in one particular direction. Sure, the thorn wasn't actually doing anything (she was just playing around, as monkeys were wont to do), but it looked interesting.

"Aha! North!" Turning to the others, she gave them a (pricked) thumbs up. "The safest route to a goblin market in the area is north of here. Shall we be on our way?"

The information about dangers in the area was sort of obvious... to her, anyway. The Hedge is always risky. So she didn't bring it up. Instead, the Beast started trekking forward, to find this new path that will lead to the shopping mall goblin market!

[Anatole]

Anatole grunted when Sonnie Wu spoke and hefted his axe.

"North it is!"

The stout dwarf muscled his way into the lead, seeking out a path through the Thorns that followed the direction the monkey advised. As he walked, his face took on a grim aspect: eyes narrowed and alert, fingers flexing on the haft of his fire ax.

"North then. I'll do what I can to keep an eye out." He would do what he could to point out the common markers and pitfalls of the hedge, even if that meant he couldn't hide. Though he kept to shadows and the edge of the brambles where he could. Places to dip and duck into where he could. He knew what the thorns of the hedge could do but also what the denizens could.
