(Pure Reasons) Smashing Grapes

[Kelreth]

A voice calls out from the central group of five Pure walking towards the pack.

"You're the Call right? We started to hear word about you up in the mountains. Can't say I'm to happy to be this far from home."

The leading figure waves a hand dismissively at the winery and houses nearby. "But Gurim-Ur is never denied." A hand heavily covered in burn scars.

Hector...you remember a story from back before coming to Sacramento. Of a Fire-Touched who cried with joy as he held his hands over a fire to burn away his past sins and embrace his new life. It would be easy to ignore such a tale, who cries with joy while roasting themselves? Except that the story also tells of how the hand's of the Fire-Touched didn't heal right. They were left scarred by the ordeal, a reminder that Gurim-Ur is always there or so they say. The story says the Fire-Touched is now called Tears-Over-Flames and that even back then he was gaining notoriety for solving .."problems".

The central group of five Pure are roughly 60 feet from the pack. The pair flanking to the pack's right are 10 feet to the right of the central, the pair flanking to the left are an equal distance away. The redheaded Pure is currently being held by Bleeds Well.

To simplify things for the time being I'll roll initiative for the Pure groups as they are engaged.

Hector growled. His shaggy head swivelled unnaturally to the right and the left as he sighted for himself what he felt through his active Gifts.


It was clear the Pure intended to flank and swamp them before the main party arrived, but maybe he could change that...


He trotted boldly to the front, which given his Urshul size and his unnatural speed, was less a trot and more a leap.


He pawed the earth with his big claws and yelled back:

Not a very good intimidate roll there.

Hector was trying to demonstrate his prowess and lure out the Pure Alpha for a one-on-one fight - which would deprive the Pure pack of their coordination, or so Hector hopes. Its probably going to backfire :P

Alpha preens and blusters at the incoming pure, his intentions are clear. Time for battle.

Bleeds Well's helpless victim, trapped in arms like steel cables, must be quickly disabled so he can turn his attention to the incoming dangers.

The mighty maw of the werewolf descends on the mans shoulder, with the cracking of bone and the shake of his head as he begins savaging man.

Bleeds Well rides the edge of his rage fueled strength, but maintains control, always in control.

Soren sees the group approaching and roars at the flankers, Soren grabs something to throw at the flanking group within range. Anything with a good bit of weight that will hurt if he throws it, like a tire or big rock.

Pale blue eyes dart from Pure to Pure behind aviators. It was a simple truth that for all her experience fighting Azlu and spirits, she could count the times she had clashed with the Pure on one hand.

But she didn't like being intimidated, that was for sure.

The Crescent stalks forward, muscles rippling as she assumes the larger, more powerful Dalu form, and takes the right side of Hector as Soren and Tiny make for the left.

Emily's shifting pool is 6, so since she's not in combat (yet) she spends her turn shapeshifting as per the House rules. Kelreth , It's poor old Red's turn.

[Kelreth]

Thankfully there had been a suitably sized rock nearby Soren. Just next to where Tiny was standing to. Lucky huh. Flying through the air the rock collides with one of the flanking Pure who drops into Urhan sidesteps the rock before dropping down to Urhan. A barking growl rolls from the wolf-form of the Pure as their compatriot swells into Dalu while staring intently at Tiny with a sick grin. Then holds a finger up to his lips.

Tears-Over-Flames watched Hector and then the rest of the pack with only a paternal smile.

“Thank you for teaching the pup a lesson I never could.

Exactly what you all are.”

At that the red headed man gives a gasping laugh then swells into the War Form and fights against Bleeds Well’s grasp. Though his struggle gets him nowhere.

No other members of the Pure pack move. Instead they simply watch, and wait.

Hector waits, paw dug into the earth. Not fear. Not patience. His head swivels from one side to the other as he clocks the flankers as they, too, pause.

He knows what this is... This is the calm before the storm. This is the test: one wolf from one pack fights another. Both are in the form of war. On the outcome of the contest between Redhead and Bleeds Well, the eventual outcome of this battle will no doubt be decided.

Hector ignores his instinct to turn and instead locks his yellowed eyes with Tears-Over-Flame.

And he put his trust in Bleeds Well their Ahroun of the Suthar Anzuth.

Hector holds position. I think I've read the situation correctly.

The purest of the Clarion's Call understands why it must be him.

Alpha has ordered to end this, and so he will.

Bear trap jaws savage the red-haired, now red furred, wolf-man. More blood leaves the man, flesh and muscle rip as the snarling wolf man is hoisted into the air, feet dangling while the monster that is Bleeds Well mercilessly rips into him. Bleeds Well head shakes, bones snap. The transformation only served to provide Bleeds Well an opportunity to do more damage.
