Beverely seems to wake up from her trance and leans forward, her hand rubbing Orphan's arm lightly. "Oh, believe me, I'm sticking with you, not too keen to sit out in the open."
She unbuckles her seatbelt and gets out of the car, glancing around, although her attention keeps retuning to Orphan, a somewhat odd touching her face for just an instant.

Orphan nods, not saying anything. He straps on all his gear and moves to the door, listening and then cautiously trying it.

Orphan doesn't hear anything, but looking at the doors, it's not much of a surprise. They're thick, wooden, and carved. Easing the door open, he can see a foyer area, with large double doors that no doubt lead to the nave. A small basin, once filled with water, stands dry. To the sides of the foyer are another pair of doors. One is marked PRIVATE, and the other says RESTROOMS.

Taking out a mini-Maglite with his left hand, Orphan shines it on the floor near all three sets of doors and looks for tracks leading to any of them.

|
One or two small dark spots on the floor lead into the nave. They look black, but have a red cast to them when the light hits them directly.
|
|
|

|
|
|
Orphan points out the spots to Beverly and gestures for her to not step there as he approaches, giving them a wide berth. He doesn't want to take time to collect them now, but if he reaches a dead end here and they turn out to be blood, they may help provide some sympathetic connection.
"Could be friends, could be foes, could be nobody here now. Either way, I ought to know in a few seconds," Orphan thinks.
Orphan opens the door the slightest bit, staying behind it while doing so, and speaks one word in High Speech, at a normal, conversational volume. "Arrow."
