After being ambushed by Vector and Ollie, Ankh manages to make her way to the Church of the Final Atonement. Still abandoned by Niles & co., it might be a place to rest and heal up. That, and with day getting into full swing, a cheetah running around is a bit conspicuous.Ankh is still a cheetah, and low on Mana (2); Animus remains unconscious, and in falcon form, sorely wounded from both Backlash and Vector's weapon.

Ankh sets the unconscious bird down and the first thing she does is use some of her last mana to heal her brave companion. Closing her eyes, she concentrates, praying it will be enough to save at least this one.

All non-Resistant Damage is Healed, and Animus can regain consciousness...

The bird begins stirring, slowly drawn back toward consciousness. Animus gives a confused "Caw?" as he looks up into Ankh's eyes. He takes in his surroundings before releasing his spell, rapidly expanding back to his human form, the wolf's tail resting awkwardly behind him, seemingly unfazed by both his nakedness and the burns covering large portions of his body.
"The others ... ?" The look in his eyes makes it clear that he suspects the answer.

Animus' tail shrinks to nothingness as the abyss releases its hold on his body. At the same time, however, his supernal reserves of stamina also unravel. Much as he would like to pretend that his injuries aren't affecting him, his body is at the limit of what it can handle. The Thyrsus collapses to the floor, once again unconscious although no longer dying.

Ankh simply shakes her cheetah head at the question of the others, glad that she can't really speak in this form. After Animus collapses again, Ankh turns away to prepare her oblation. Without a proper space for a rock garden arrangement, she looks around to see if there is anything she can find that might suit as an offering instead.

Ankh's nose can smell the unsavory odor of rats, and it wouldn't be hard for her to follow her ears to one or two.

|
|
|
Ankh settles for rat hunting. She silently stalks them through the building hoping that her cat form will prove to be the superior hunter then the human form ever would have.
As she moves through the rooms, she wonders if West and the others are ok and if Orphan managed to get everyone else out of the fight. She tries not to dwell on the losses her own group took in the attempt to get here. So many now gone. The attempt to keep up ones optimism was becoming harder by the hour and Ankh was very close to just giving up all together. Altough she knew it would take her a very long time to die.
Pushing the unsavory thoughts aside, Ankh goes back to concentrating on rats.

Ankh clears her mind, focusing on the natural flow of the predator and prey relationship. In this form, she is the apex predator, the top of the food chain, the end of the circle of life. She locates and stalks, hunting. She corners a few, acting out the process of the kill, but not completing it, choosing not to sully the proud form she wears with such unworthy prey. Feeling Mana infuse her, she pads back to Animus, strengthened by her oblation.
On the way, her spell fades, returning her to her natural form.
Ankh rolls Gnosis + Composure; divide by three, rounding down, for total Mana regained.

Animus slowly stirs back to consciousness and, realizing that Ankh isn't with him, sits bolt upright, immediately cringing as pain lances through his wounds. At first he fears she has left him behind, but he quickly realizes that there is still a Life signature within the church. Reassured, he waits for her return, turning to face her when he hears her footsteps approaching.
