Brews and Games

[Campanella]

Campanella settled into a comfortable silence as he observed the group dynamics at play. His silence continued, shielded by his consumption of one the small burgers, which he washed down with his drink.

Slowly, his focus fell on Naga and Skye.

[Phoenyx]

Dark etyes flick to Naga as she watches. Why was she being so attentive? Was this interesting? "Would... you like to try it?" She asks Naga slowly.

Aurora seemed to be trying to look after Campenella as well. It was like she was trying to help everyone. The Arrow offers a small smile. "It is not unpleasent... I think I will keep with it for now. I can try one of those after?"

Skye's compliments were a little disconcerting. The First Talon could feel herself withdrawing a little as the pink tinged her cheeks again. It was a little awkward. "Um. I suppose so?" She offers the glass to Skye. "Here. You can try this one."

Campenella seemed to prefer watching. She understood that. Phoenyx partially hoped they could trade places.

[Naga]

"I do believe we should all listen to the beer expert," she chuckled in Aurora's direction and ordered herself the Belgian brew.

A curious look was given to Skye, "I'm not sure. Why the focus on butterflies?"

She smiled at Phoenyx and shook her head, "I'll have my own in a moment, thanks."

[Aurora]

Smiling to Skye, “Beer can come in a wide variety of flavors. If you like heavier beers, there are even chocolate stouts that are amazing!” she enjoyed those. “But I have yet to find a way around the standard beer smell. Sure, you can add hints of other scents, but the smell will always remain. So if anyone has any tips, let me know!” it wasn’t an unpleasant smell to her, but there were those that hated it.

Glancing at Campy over her glass, then to the others, “Think we might need to up our conversation game.” Her tone playful as she teased him.

Nodding to Phoenyx, “I think you should try whichever ones you want! Best way to find something you like.” Yup.

Laughing, “I’m not an expert, it’s just little things I’ve picked up over the years of brewing my own. You want an expert, I’d recommend the bartender, he seems to know a lot.” But it was flattering.

“So, with the warm weather, anyone been doing anything fun?”

[Skye]

Hmm ignored ohh well that was nothing new nor anything to think much of.

Taking Phoenyx's glass and giving hers over, lightly sipping a little carefully letting the taste play in her mouth before handing it back.
"Sorry if I made you feel a bit of, I know I can be a bit to direct." The withdrawal was something she had missed but the color change and the way she spoke did make it feel like she might have pushed a bit more than the first talon was used to. "I will try to work on that but you do make it hard. It was really nice you wanted to do a try of each others though." Offering her a sincere and warm smile.

"Ohh, I do not know if you know this or not but I did grow up in a hmm lets call it nature filled environment and many of those whom were born there had names correlating to nature in some way, Vanessa did not escape that part which is how I know that it is linked to the meaning of butterfly so I just played on that. Sadly I do not know much else about you to take a name from that is all." Plain and simple.

Listening to the words of the master.
"Hmm seems like I really need to look deeper into these matters, then again it was not that long ago that I even got to a legal age to get into places to allow me to drink so I have neither the knowledge nor used to even frequenting any sort of establishment for it. Which one is your personal favorite of them all? Sadly I do not know the difference between beer, stout or why they are called like they are. I am more used to can or glass and homemade stuff both the weaker variety and those with higher alcohol content." And some very odd drinks but that was another story.

"Not really, still just trying to get used to the city, walking around it a lot and exploring the few woodland areas along with training and trying to fix up all in my new place. I prefer the work quarters though to be ready should it be needed and to keep together so my time is not all to heavily focused on being there. I have been teaching a kid some gymnastics which have been rather nice though, always nice to pass along ones skills to a new generation."

[Campanella]

Campanella let his hand linger on his perspiring drink. With the other, he reached for some fries.

"The difference between beer and stout? Types of yeast, the kinds of malts used in preparation, and the fermentation process. Roughly speaking." He murmured between mouthfuls.

"Can't be that many forests around here. You must have explored them all by now, surely?"

And then he inclined his head toward Aurora.

"I'm an indoors person. I'd rather curl up in a corner with a good book. Having natural light is wonderful, but it is not like I'd go out or anything. What about you?"

[Aurora]

“Personally?” then she looks thoughtful, “That’s a really hard question to answer. I tend to gravitate towards the lighter beers myself, and I always enjoy one with a unique flavor.” Something someone had to put the time into. “Stouts are a darker and heavier beer. They get their darker color from the roasting process of the barley. Not everyones thing, but there are some remarkable chocolate and coffee stouts out there.” Some didn’t like how heavy the beer, was.

Smirking, “Roughly speaking, he’s right.” Seemed he knew more than she thought.

Eyes narrow playfully, “Didn’t we talk about your lack of going out?” sipping her beer, “Currently haven’t had anytime for more fun things. Been setting up my own, uh,” code talk, “personal workspace. So it’s been moving things around, setting books up, that whole thing. And I haven’t had a chance to really dive into them much. Sadly. Though, natural light isn’t a problem, between the skylights and my small porch, I can enjoy it anytime.” Her mouth opens, but closes, like she was going to add more, but stops. Tucking hair behind her ear, she goes back to her beer.

[Phoenyx]

Pjoenyx nods at Naga's response and continues to sip her drink. It probably wasn't to her taste, she was deciding, but finishing it was a matter of principle.

She watches Aurora again and offers her small smile. Maybe she could see if they had one of those Iced teas than made the last night out so easy to do.

Skye is given a small nod. "It... takes gettign used to. Most people seem more comfortable giving me my personal space - that is what I am used to. I have been told it is because I can be... standoffish." She tried not to squirm. Exposing herself this much always felt uncomfortable, but that was the point, the challenge. to grow in all ways.

"Are you trying to get everyone away from their work?" She asked Aurora with just a hint of challenge, and a smile that very nearly bordered on sassy. "Perhaps he feels that is more important. We all have duties and responsibilities that w might prefer to focus on."

Obviously Campenella. Nobody else. Her work balance was just fine.

[Naga]

"Born and bred city girl here. Forests are lovely, but I have no interest in tromping around in them," she smiled, apparently agreeing with Campanella on the subject.

Naga's beer came, finally, and she took a taste. "Hm, not bad. I like it." There was a nod of approval.

"I'm afraid," she answered Aurora, "I haven't had much time for summertime fun. A trip to the beach does sound attractive, though. Time to decompress does have value. I'll have to try and make the time for a weekend break, sometime soon."

[Skye]

Nodding towards Campanella whilst nibbling on the food he had shared.
"Thank you and yes I have pretty much done that yes, still there are some good tracks to run and if you just keep your eyes open and wander around so can you always find new things you haven't seen before. If nothing else so is nature always calming."

Listening to Adi's words.
"Hmm seems like I will need to explore the world of alcohol overall a bit closer whilst I am in this city then. It's always fun to try new things, even though I might be more of a cider person than a beer person but that most likely comes from not knowing all to much about beer."

Drinking some of her drink as she listened to the first talon.
"So she thinks you need to get out more and people take you as standoffish hmm." Counting on her fingers a bit "Well I have waited over four months now to give it time" Looking her in the eyes "Would you do me the honor of going out with me on my first date? You may pick the activity, I am sure we can find some nice physical activity we can both enjoy if that would feel easier for you and not feel the force of romantic ones, not that I would be opposed to that either."
Yeah she was a bit direct but being subtle was unfortunately never really her style.
Giving the first talon a warm kind smile.
"If you need to think about it for a while so is that quite all right feel no rush to give me an answer." It might be better to give her some time to think about it and not rush her besides she wasn't going anywhere so if waiting a day or week or two would give her a better chance so could she wait.

"So we are quite the opposites then, one who can navigate and survive the city jungle with ease but is not good in the woods and one that you can throw into the woods with a pocket knife and then come get in a year and find healthy and fine but that cannot navigate city life at all."
