Campanella enters the Circle shrugging into a light, casual, blazer. He emerges from the cloister, having come from the Mysterium's chambers. Initially, the Moros does not notice the small gathering. Once he does, he stops, pivots on a foot and makes his way over.
"Well this is a surprise. I had thought I had the place to myself today."
Avis more than the cursory nod he gives out to the group. She is his cabal mate, after all.
"Is this gathering for anything in particular, or to simply enjoy each others company?"
His eye's fix on Guru.
"Bread!"
Campanella moves directly to where the Shaman is sitting.
The Shaman amongst shamans walks in dressed in nondescript suit, carrying his beat up leather briefcase. He slides into a seat near Kaze.
"Good day all. Hey Aurora, wanna practice summoning spirits with me later? Maybe we can get Naga to hel-- oh Muffins!" he cuts himself off as he grabs a honey nut cupcake from Guru's offering and takes a bit. "thanks Guru! Wait, there's not drugs in this is there?"
"No thanks," she declines politely to Guru. "Have you.... settled in?" she asks stiltedly.
Aurora seemed odd somehow, but it was hard to see why. To Kaze, Phoenyx smiles albeit a little awkwardly. "It's... good to see you too." Overseeing had been rough to start but had settled out. Now just being around each other, knowing what they knew.
Urgh. Small talk. This is awful.
Naga had done something with her hair. It looked like a lot of work. And the new Arrow. Avis? Avis. In.... colours. Bright colours. She had meant to talk with the new Arrow. Forcing conversation was hard enough, but in public it felt... exposed.
Phoenyx shakes her head at Campenella's question. "No."
Are you fighting or merely blocking? Engage! The old voice grated abrasively in her mind.
"I think... it is just coincidence," she adds slowly. "They... happen more than one might think, or at least can appear so. I spent some time ont he Fate Arcanum, and it was enlightening to see the web of connections that give them rise."
The Arrow goes quiet, beginning to withdraw in herself again.
The Consilium? In shambles.
Established hierarchy? Nonexistent.
But Emissary's gotta Emissary, fam.
So Tyche strolls in. Eventually. Even though part of her is wracked with uncertainty. Was it really worth it to dig in before the Consilium settled on another system? Who knows, but she had to be visible. And approachable.
Still, with the informality being what it was, maybe this would be nice? Tyche was totally down to chat and mingle - so long as the topic of politics in the ever-shifting nature of Sacramento wasn't brought to bear. That shit could wait until the next formal, but, then again, Tyche had made her point on that little matter clear enough.
Tyche was dressed with the summer heat and her usual style in mind. She wore a white, cropped tank top. And overalls. Because why not? They had an abundance of pockets for snacks and, thus, distractions.
The distraction of choice today was, per the usual, chocolate, hidden away in the depths. However, it was the iced almondmilk mocha in Tyche's hands that currently garnered most of her attention. Easy on the stomach. She'd wander in with a long drink through her straw, throwing a nod to Campy and Avis before finally joining the general vicinity of the group.
The Acanthus' lips part from the straw to form her usual, casual smirk.
"Sup?"
He snapped his fingers and pointed at Campanella when he'd brought up bread. "Ayy." He drew out the song of the long A with a laugh that only doubled down when Anima had came in and asked if there were drugs in it. He took a long minute to finally compose himself wiping tears from his eyes as he shook his head.
"Smart to ask instead of diving in but no. Unethical to dose someone against their will, also makes you responsible for their well being and mental state after. And well, I don't really wanna play trip sitter today." He chuckled and tore apart some of his own cupcake before popping it into his mouth and pointed at the tupperware.
"Got a whole wheat and an irish soda as far as bread goes. Got honey nut cupcakes and chocolate no icing. I didn't forget."
Turning to Phoenyx he nodded. "Settling in is the easy part, I have very few needs. Some space for quiet contemplation, good soil, other than that I'm not in need for much thank you for asking.
"I, uh, thought maybe we should have a discussion about what came up at the end of last consilium or at least organize some focus groups about it. Like we can't just go into the next meeting and spit ball something like this and expect it to be solved in a night. Rome, well, you know."
He shrugged and tore off another bite of his cupcake leaning back in his chair. "Either way I'm good." He made sure to give Tyche an upwards nod as she entered not wanting her to feel like she'd gone unnoticed. "I brought food, help yourself."
Blue eyes look to Anima when he enters and mentions summoning Spirits, “I’m willing to be there, if you want support or something, but Spirit isn’t something I dabble in too much.” She already explained that Spirit wasn’t her thing. Messing with Spirits wasn’t her thing.
The Shaman was a bit surprised by how much Phoenyx was speaking. Was the Arrow attempting to be more social? It would require more observation she thinks, sipping her coffee.
Seeing Tyche enter, a small nod was offered. Maybe they needed another girls night out. That might be good.
Nothing was said in response to Guru. She wasn’t here for Official business, and wouldn’t deal with that mess again today, she didn't bring her flask. More coffee was sipped.
Picking out small bites of her cupcake with her fingers before walking over to Kaze, giving him a small quick hug feeling it impolite to not answer a hug opening but also remembering Phoenyx's words from before as well trying to show some compassion.
"Good to see you, hope all is well with you?"
A quick glance towards Naga as she arrived but the two weren't close nor did they have anything to really talk about so she was quickly falling out of her mind. Same went for Avis her new color not being missed but those two had their own things to discuss.
Smiling and waving a bit towards Campanella hoping to get a chance to talk with him more a bit more but not feeling sure how to open a conversation, he did have some interesting views but to really get into them she would need quite a bit of time or at least thats what it felt like.
A small frown appearing on her for a while as she over hears the words of spirit summoning, she had brought up the topic again and again with him recently but been ignored each and every time.
Walking up next to the first talon with wide eyes.
"Please don't tell me that you're going to go deep into that or at least the talk, I have already had one person going on and on into such depths that my head nearly exploded. I do admit that there is a lot of things and interconnections that those who do not know any better would call coincidences though." Shaking her head a bit the memories of her former mentor echoing through her mind. "It is an interesting arcanum though and can be of a great boon in untold situations of that there is no doubt. Anyway wanna plan something fun someday in the near future? A little getting to know each other event could be fun don't you think? Outside of these walls I mean."
More talk of politics yusch that was not something she found even slightly interesting, keeping her usual calm demeanor whilst just ignoring the words.
Tyche arriving draws another small smile from Phoenyx. She found the Enchantress pleasant to be around. "Hi. Are you okay?"
She glances back to Guru. "I would be happy to talk about it, but this is not the time. I am always around the Circle if you want to come to the Arrow quarters and discuss it."
"What do you mean, 'the talk'?" she replies to Skye with a hint of challenge, thought here is still a small hint of smile on her face. "The Fate Arcanum is a fascinating difference to my other studies, which lean to the more scientific. It is quite.... abstract, compared to, say, the Force Arcanum. It is important to keep different ways of thinking in might so one can be adaptable to different scenarios." Debating things always seemed to draw Phoenyx out a little more.
Meeting socially? She was awary of doing so with the other Arrows. She hadn't been taught that way.
Kaze smiles at Naga's version of casual. "Hey." He says. "Thanks." He thinks for a second if there really is anything he'd look for legal advice or help with where being able to speak relatively freely about everything would be worth airing his personal business to the Ladder. "I think I'm good for now." He says, smiling. "Thanks again though."
Kaze manages to keep his laugh inside, only showing in his eyes when Avis confonts Naga apparently questioning the value of her Path or at least the preferred Arcana that went with it. He doesn't know Avis. He's never had a conversation with her or anything. Still he's pretty sure it never gets boring around her. He's really sure that he doesn't want to give her any reason to really be upset with him.
Campanella is so different since he was Hierarch. He basically seems more relaxed though, so it's probably for the best. At least he seems to be recovering from the experience, and not so beaten down by the weight of responsibility.
Anima arrives. He seems better off without the responsibility of being a Councillor too. Kaze wonders suddenly if being a Councillor has anything to do with Aurora seeming down today. He hopes it's just an off day, not a new normal for her.
And now Phoenyx looks at her max of number people trying to talk to her at once before she's getting done with it. Kaze smiles and says, "I'm really glad. Thanks." to Phoenyx and the nods like to say, 'Later' and lets her off the hook from having to talk with him too right now along with everyone else.
"Hey." Kaze says, smiling as Tyche arrives. She's a cool one.
He doesn't say anything, but turns to pay attention as Guru seems to be making a bid to start up some kind of agenda. That's kind of surprising. Guru doesn't seem like a guy who wouldn't want to wait a month to do government stuff. But it's not like Kaze really knows him that well.
"I'm all good." Kaze says, smiling as Skye gives him a pretty chaste but friendly hug. "Thanks." He says. Then he takes a seat again and watches as Skye seems kind of triggered by Phoenyx saying she's finding the Fate Arcanum interesting. Figures. He does recall Skye saying that her mentor had been a Fate practitioner, and that she found it hard to deal with his cryptic sayings. The prospect of Phoenyx turning into a someone saying things out of a fortune cookie all of the time doesn't seem very likely, but when Fate is involved, he the whole point is that the anything could happen whether it's likely or not.
Kaze watches as Phoenyx shuts down Guru's attempt at starting business from the last meeting. Nice. We'll see how far we get just being more or less regular people and not setting up committees or something. Her answer to Skye is classic. Nothing cryptic and fortune cookie-ish there.
Campanella gratefully takes the bread Guru offered. The Moros broke the bread in his hands and lifted it up to his face where he was better able to enjoy the scent. The Shaman - and anyone close by - would have caught the satisfied exhalation that the former Hierarch made as he inhaled the doughy aroma. When he lowered his hands, Campanella was smiling appreciatively.
He took a seat near where Guru was sitting and started to eat, chewing slowly to savour the taste.
