(2007) Formal Court

[Mable Wood]

Mable gave a simple nod of understanding to Twist. "Thank you. I will meet you in your theater."

Great, no one wanted to be tied to her...again. Seriously, she knew she wasn't like John. He was intentionally disrespectful. But in the eyes of the court intentions didn't matter.

She then stepped back and watched the scene. In her mind she was berating herself for being so stupid. On the other hand she really did want to learn better etiquette. While she wasn't Invictus and this wasn't supposed to be an Invictus domain it remained mostly Invictus so she should learn more about how to act. Lessons would be welcomed.

[Alice Hart]

Alice was a statue as events progress, listening to the give and take. The words and actions of the Danse. Her Covenant wasn't implicated, she was sure. It was only the fault of Mable, in her haste and enthusiasm that caused a fumble, but to hear Twist's voice, to know that her battle sister was very close to something more permanent then simple discipline...

Alice might need to take action if even Twist's...corrections were not heeded...

[Dirt Nap]

Dirt Nap continues to watch, as everyone, especially the Seneschal seems to be paying close attention to see or hear what will happen to Mable.


He nods in his superior's general direction as he makes his apologies and leaves with Jack. Horatio could do a lot worse. His superior seems to have added some self deprecating humor to his arsenal and tactics. That seems to Dirt Nap to be a great sign of his superior's ability to change and adapt tactics to a situation. Perhaps taking more time to do it than Dirt Nap would have wanted, but Dirt Nap himself is not all that quick when it comes to changing. Slow and steady is more his way.


The Prince turns her attention from Mable, finally satisfied maybe more with Twist than with Mable, but at least she's released Mable to get away from the danger. If Dirt Nap were a breathing man, he'd have been holding his breath, he thinks. Looks like Mable's going to make it out of here with her skin on and still living in the Domain. Good. He doubted he'd have the stomach to visit the farm anymore if she didn't live there.


Dirt Nap nods to Mister Heinrich as the man addresses him in a hushed tone. Appropriate. The tone. Dirt Nap doesn't say anything right off, which ought to be normal enough for him, even if this time he is deliberately delaying to see to the credits so to speak of Mable's situation. She hasn't gone yet. She's got the opportunity, only just.


He does notice Priscus Black looking somewhat speculative over at his superior, and can't for the life of him figure why, but notices just the same.


Jennifer Hazelton says something, like they are figuring out who is going to be giving the instructions to Mable. He hadn't thought about that. He could see as how it would matter though, like when he found himself responsible for getting Horatio back for the next Court, on time and without his dog for a second try. That had been a burden alright, and even though it hadn't gone right for Horatio afterwards, he'd done his part and not been blamed for the rest. Hopefully Mable's situation would work out as well as Horati's third try seemed to be going.


Then the Prince talks directly to Jennifer Hazelton and it goes to flowers again. He's mighty grateful to avoid any kind of high stakes conversing, as he'd probably talk about horse muck or something and ruin it all entirely.


Then Twist speaks and turns out she's going to take Mable on herself. Now that would be interesting. Scary as all get out, but interesting and probably worth it.


The new man, Alexander Moore he'd introduced himself as, speaks pretty well when the Prince speaks to him, and seems to have the right kind of attitude for this situation.


And then Mable agrees and it seems like she's going to be okay, tonight at least.


Dirt Nap says to Edward, "Evening, Mister Heinrich. If I recall rightly, you were asking me the other night why I feel the powerful need to Change myself? I'd be willing to try and tell you, if you don't mind maybe a longer story than you might expect. I believe there just might be just about enough time before the night is done."

The words Jennifer spoke to Twist were wise. What was said at the last Court had clearly not sunk in. Would the words from this Court be any different? Time would tell.

A small hint of a smile, “I had been looking forward to that as well, but I feel it might have to wit for another evening.” Between the mistake and how late it was getting, another time would be better.

Twists voice drew her attention, watching the situation. Not that the Daeva could not handle whichever direction went, but to give her Hound her support. But her deciding to take on the education herself was a bit of a surprise, but not entirely unexpected. As Judex, she was the authority of the First Estate. Mable should consider it a great honor to be granted such an opportunity. And not waste it.

Back to those in front of her. And damn, he was just so, tall.

There was a smile, a bit wider, as Alexander spoke. “That’s wonderful to hear. And you are in very capable hands.” In her short time in the Domain, the Notary had shown herself to be quite knowledgeable and capable. “Where do you join us from?” always good to know where Kindred are from.

“Have you had the chance to meet another of your Cousins, Seneschal Hart?” she asks. "I would hate to keep you from meeting her."

"You are in possession of clear memory, Mr. Clay."

With the night winding down and conversation with the new shadow concluded, Jacque makes his way back down the dirt road entrance, hands tucked in his pockets and disappears into the distinct darkness only the remote farm could offer.

Jack exits the scene.

[Horatio Quilz]

Horatio parts ways with Jack for the night assured he will meet again. He heads to the parking area making his bows as he goes, until he is out in the parking area.
With one last look before he gets in his Jeep, Horatio gives a slight smirk. He starts up the Jeep and drives out onto the road to town.
