Jennifer was hard at work in her Haven, consulting an aged leather journal and making notes in a separate, new journal. There were books beside her, one pertaining to ancient rites and one on history of Europe, another on ancient Rome. There was a thinner book on origin tales of Native Americans. She referred to a journal written entirely in her own hand frequently. This journal was very important to her- she had labored to transfer the oaths and accounts within it from her Grand Sire's own Notary Journal. The process had taken a great deal of time; but it had taught Jennifer patience.
Consulting the book on mystic rites, Jennifer noted another small coincidence regarding the mystery surrounding the leader of the mystic rites. She paused to study her notes on taurobolium, referred to practices involving the sacrifice of a bull. These rituals were a particular interest and she read the historical context for some time. She set the book aside to call up what historical students thought and found Jeremy Rutter’s suggestion. She carefully noted his thoughts that ‘the bull's testicles substituted for the self-castration of devotees of Cybele’.

Satisfied she had a solid understanding; she set the research into their respective pile and noted her thoughts on whaJeremy Rutter makes the suggestion that the bull's testicles substituted for the self-castration of devotees of Cybele, the sacrifice of the bull in her new journal. It opened new avenues for her to explore, she certainly would like to read more about the devotees of Cybele. She made notes on future thoughts to follow up on as she closed out the study for the night.
The instance that occurred to her of was an oath sworn by the House of the Blue convolvulus, an ally of her Grand Sire. One of the members of the house was Eden Ai; an Invictus Nosferatu who was once Prince of a city for a time. She had joined the house of the Lady Notary Micha Chappelle, the Libretist Garreth Slade and formalized the Dynastic House as Prince. She had personal experience with the house studying under the Lady Notary Chappelle.

She picked up the aged journal that held records of the mystical ways and scanned her index in the beginning. Indeed, there was a small offhand comment by someone in Europe about self – castration, something the Notary had noted but had not delved into at the time. What was a mortal mystical blood sacrifice mentioned in these ancient mystical blood rights? There could be a correlation.
Jennifer noted the fact, page number in her Journal: A for future study. She was more devoted than ever for furthering her understanding of ancient history. The Notary rose from her desk and carried the books to the bookshelf, thinking of the last time she had written her Sire. He had chosen to leave Manumission, causing her to miss being Blooded. Yet he had been obsessed with detailing the abilities and demonstrated Gifts of others in his city. She brought up a local site and marked a print to buy, arranging for delivery in a way to protect herself. She would send her query, obfuscated so her Sire wouldn’t know her true desire. He’d likely share his observations without much on her part, although she made a note to inquire on his data security. She might need to ensure that was up to date.
She would continue her studies, but for now she locked up and slipped out of her Haven. She moved along the street in search of prey, her mind mulling over the mystical history of blood rites. There was so much history to learn, and she would know it all.
