Avis kept running, pacing herself rather than sprinting off. In truth, it was because she was curious what her two protegees (by circumstance, if not by choice), would do unsupervised...
Sorry for stalling the scene
The creature was fast, that much was certain but he knew how to move, movement had been his passion for awhile he knew how his body could twist and turn, how to best flow from obstacle to obstacle. He saw the beast sleeping there but not knowing how sound of a sleep it was he'd still approach slowly and cautiosly, he wanted a better look at the armband if he could.

Stopping at the sight of the beast, positioning herself to fire at it either at the armband if that would be for the best or at it if she felt to much danger it had already escaped them once it would not be wise to give it a second chance to escape however if Guru wished to examine the bracelet then fine.
Knowing full well that the beast had been sneaky before so was this no time to be caught of guard, looking carefully around trying to determine if there were anything they might have missed.

The mages close once more on the Beast and this time it does not react.
Skye positions herself with the same care and attention that she did before. Her head moves back and forth, eyes sweeping the area in search of anything out of place or suggestive of an ambush. She finds nothing. The Beast seems to be slumbering peacefully in the muddy stream bed - face pressed deeply into the thick earth; clawed hands dug deeply into the soft cool ground. From the creature's position, she can tell that it simply slowed down and then deliberately dropped into the mud.
There are no immediate dangers nearby. The Beast's trail to this point was erratic. There is no hidden ambush, nor would there have been any time to construct one.
Guru is gazing with focussed Scrutiny at the armband once more. The longer he stares at the metallic armband, the more becomes visible to his Sight. He already knows the object gives off a Supernal resonance. Now he can say for certain the object's Pattern marks its an Artefact of some kind. He begins to pick up on the Resonance - Change, Shape-shifting.
And something else: a dissonance. A small - so small he almost missed it - contrary vibration that works against the Artefact's purpose.
By the time Avis finally arrived in the muddy clearing again, she was both unsurprised and frustrated to find that the padawans had...done absolutely fucking nothing.
It took her a moment to stop grinding her teeth in impotent rage, and then stalked up next to Skye.
"Talon," she growled softly, "your soul didn't cross the fucking Abyss and ascend into the supernal just so you could stand around looking pretty with a bow in your hand like some sort of Hunger Games wannabe. Now, what Arcana do you know, and how well do you know them?"
His head tilted as he squat there starring at the armband, his chest letting out a quick breath as he uttered one word. “Huh.” It wasn’t a question though, it was a statement there was finality in that huh, he could see the crack in the resonance splayed before his eyes as he examined the armband. It could mean a few things, either way he was sure he knew what this person’s problem was.
“Artefact but…I need to study it more. I’m gonna try to remove it normally.” He said to both Avis and Skye never really directing the conversation at either as he began to softly speak the words of the supernal forming on his lips, he imagined the armband finding the seem of it, how it fastened and popping it open. His fingers brushing against the band and making that image the truth, the new reality.

Guru Improvises Loosen the Threads to unlock it or at least unstick it so he can remove the band.

Her eyes quickly looking towards Avis for a brief second as she comes up at her but immediately going back to Guru as she speaks in a low voice.
"Nor did it go through it to kill and slaughter if there is no need, I will more than gladly kill it if nothing gets better once Guru have had his chance to remove the damn bracelet. As for arcana so am I an adept of Forces and a disciple of Life." At least those were the ones she could agree to share.
Damn Guru needed his time to get that thing of if it could help so was that great sure but that didn't guarantee that they would be any better of and not just face a stronger enemy. Starting to speak in high speech as she keeps her eyes clear on the beast, the green energy of an improvised spell showing up direct towards the beast.

Hoping that her spell will at least make it a little woobly and out of it if he awakens to be a threat once more.
Skye uses Chemical Imbalance on the beast, remove his stamina from her casting roll.
Guru moves closer while Skye prepares another spell.
As the Talon's green glyph flows seamlessly into the Beast's Pattern, the creature... farts loudly. It almost purrs in contentment and coils dreamily into a very human foetal position. And smiles.
The Apostate Shaman is already looking at the armband with a critical eye. His finger's brush over the object as he twines action with Will...
His spell forms and flows effortless toward its intended target. And then...
The discordant note he had detected with the Sight becomes a very real sound - a crystalline ringing sensation.
Guru - in fact, anyone with the Sight who is watching - will see his spell floating over the armband as a brown glyph; and then they will see the glyph shiver and shatter. A faint trace of smoke coils lazily from the armband, which remains steadfastly wrapped around the Beast's tortured arm.
The Beast is oblivious - ensnared by the spells of the two Arrows, the creature simple gargles into the mud happily.
Skye's spell goes off without a hitch.
Guru's spell is cast... but fails to affect the object. It would be fairly obvious to any watching that the spell was broken at the last minute; it did not fail.
"If I wanted to kill it, it would be fuckin' dead, you muppet," Avis whispered back.
The lip on the kids these days.
"Just keep the damn thing asleep. I just made it feel comfy, but you can mess with its autonomic functions, so keep doing that."
With that, Avis began to sidle closer to the beast. Clearly the armband was the problem. Remove the armband, remove the problem, right?
She didn't worry about being stealthy, not with it snoring and farting happily in the muck. Instead, she crouched down right beside it and began trying to slip the armband off, in the tradition of pickpockets everywhere, but her impatience was slipping into her movements...
failure
He hadn't really considered Avis' point before but it was a good one. She could have just walked up and slit its throat while it was sleeping. It still felt like she was humouring them but that was fine enough for him. His head tilted as his spell absolutely shattered, that got him to tilt his head in fascination.
The ringing was an announcement but to what and to who. Was it an alarm to the hunters who tagged him? He felt this was most likely but he'd been wrong at least twice today so he wasn't about to count on it. He studied the resonance, looking at the mastery's, the signature and tracing where that discordant crack was wondering what it was. Was it the Lie? Had the lie infected the artefact and cause this person to lose their mind?
"Yea, keep him asleep I've gotta keep digging into this things design. It's nothing I've seen before, I don't know if that's a flaw or..."
He let the words hang in the air as he kept scrutinizing the things resonance. Avis' seemed to have the actual cuff well in hand and if there was another trap on it or another alarm he wanted to know before she lost her hands or worse.
