(2003) Fate Leads to Sacramento

[Tyche]

Tyche smiles, though she doesn't glance to Campanella. Not immediately, she keeps her eyes on the stonework.

"Interests? Sure," she offers, finally turning to look at the older Moros, "A good beer now and then, I guess. I go out. Let loose every once and a while."

She pauses, smiling as she thinks how that might be a construed.

"Might be a Guardian, but I'm still an Acanthus, sir," she says, granting Campanella some respect, it's clear her counterpart at least respected the man, "Other than that? Movies, maybe? Architecture, to some extent too sure. Don't know much about the latter if I'm honest, but it's beautiful. And you?"

You know what the best part of an unofficial concilium is? It's the small talk. The change of topics, and cringe worthy awkwardness of some of the participants. It was so great to know that no amount of power or self perceived enlightenment could 'fix' social awkwardness. The Mighty, the Enchanted, even the Scourged, all equal in their ineptitude. Silence reigned in some corners. 'Vroom's in the others.

Pixel smiles. Rather then try and force Rose and company to return to a topic he could add to he slowly steps back and away from the group. He makes his way instead over to Winter and the now former Heirarch.

"So," He's still grinning like someone just told him a joke. "what kind of hobbies do you guys enjoy?"

Sure, Tyche posed the question to Campanella already, but he figured he'd get Winter back into the conversation as well. He couldn't say he wasn't interested in knowing anything about Winter beyond his Path.

[Briar Rose]

Her fists would be bumped or they wont. Either way, the conversation carries. Growing organically the opposite to what she'd been well, not a part of last go 'round. What with her not speaking...much.

She rolls her shoulders, and twists her hair up. She knew it didn't look good, forgetting the bush as she had, tying it up gave her something to do, while, making something out of her pink locks.

"So, is red a favourite colour?" Briar Rose asks the firebird, wondering if it was, and wondering if her reasons for her enjoyment of the colour were the same as the Shaman's.

"Is Jon Bon Jovi wanted dead or alive?"

So that's a 'yes'. On a steel horse he rides. Clearly -- he's a cowboy. If cowboys rode bikes because they couldn't afford cars and wanted to be able to go where police cars couldn't in the event of a expedient change of location. His brows bobbed up under curly bangs before he squiiiinted slowly and then met Briar Rose's presented fist with his own gloved one. That's enough sharing. He's not going to tell them where it is because he already goes to pains to conceal it each time he arrives. This guy is not getting a tracker put on his wheels. He almost offers Pixel the sage advice that ten dollars worth of bus tokens can be bought for a two dollar joint at the bus station near any halfway house... but again. Totally over-sharing.

"Sure, yeah, let's do that," he added agreeably. One, he'd suggested it. Two, he enjoyed it. Daredevil stunts with intermittent high-speed graffiti-ish? That was as good as it got. "Now... that could actually be a combo thing? Riding. Art. I think every August, is it," he pondered, "There's like thirty or forty artists for the Sacramento Mural Festival. So there's, like, murals all over the city. You just have to know where to look."

They're perfect for hiding messages in, too.

"One of you could give him," he gestured at the city's only Mastigos, "A ride so he doesn't have to take the bus."

Wait for it.

"Otherwise he'd be...

[Phoenyx]

The fist of Briar Rose was bumped tentatively, but she's smiling. "That sounds like fun." It's followed with a nod. "There was a lot of fiery colours involved in my Awakening. I sort of... embraced it."

Phoenyx looks over to Star. "I guess he is. I can make time, whenever you both want to ride." She had no idea that people were actually bikers. It was nice to discover. Maybe she could make this socialising thing work after all.

[Campanella]

Campanella allows himself to follow Tyche gaze.

"Oh yes. Very beautiful."

He mulls her words for a minute.

"Beer and cutting loose? Not much for the cutting loose myself but I do enjoy a good beer when one is to be had. Books and art are perhaps more my means of enjoyment. You, however, might find striking up a conversation with Aurora profitable - she also enjoys a good beer... Maybe you could convince her to brew some of her special drinks? Quite the treat."

A smile of nostalgic enjoyment creased his face.

[Briar Rose]

She can't help but laugh at Star's well. Words. Not just the whisper, but her question is answered by the Arrow and the Apostate nods. "Rife with symbols, symbolism. Meaning. I can get behind that."

She nods, "Me too. I got nothing but time really. Well. Not really. So not an Enchanter, but you get my meaning." she laughs, smiling, tongue caught between her teeth.

"Morgan's the one reason I came this way. Didn't really care where I went, so I haven't done anything to really. Uh. Yeah, but a Mural festival. Yeah. That sounds amazing." her eyes sparkle with joy, visions dancing around her head. "Gotta be something magical to see."

[Winter]

"I read a lot", it's his tight lipped reply. Other than their extraordinary circumstances, they didn't really have much in common.
For the most part he's quite alright with the general atmosphere, this kind of bonding experience was likely going to strengthen the Consilium. "Anything caught your eyes?", he asks the younger Libertine, "College life must be quite busy"

[Tyche]

The light discussion of the other mages catch Tyche's ears. Star seemed thoroughly engaged with Briar Rose, not that the Enchanter blamed him. Even that Pheonyx girl was involved.

Tyche would leave them be. Her own company was pleasant enough. Turning her gaze to Campanella as he spoke, Tyche smiled.

"Nothing wrong with reading" she said, "A night in can be pretty nice now and then, but, yeah, it's not usually my forte. Consider me informed on Magus Aurora though, it'll be nice to find someone to jive with. Have you known each other long?"

The smile certainly indicated they did.

[Campanella]

Campanella is drawn - reluctantly - from his reverie.

"Yes. Yes I have. We were part of a Cabal at one stage - Nidhogg's Bane. Back at the lowest point in the... Time War. I don't know how much you know or have been told about that. Suffice to say, Nidhogg's Bane was the last stand, as it were. We were all that was left."

He frowned as the words tumbled from his mouth.

"I believe she kept a still in our Sanctum."

He tried to brighten up his recollections.
