(Grimoire Hunt) Let the Record Show

[Kaze]

Kaze ponders a moment. He looks at Shodan. "Well, most...people like us would have a hard time just dropping a chance to get something they're looking for, just on someones say so. Maybe we could pitch it like we found something interesting, maybe urgent, and would like them to look at it as soon as they can to see what their interpretation is?" He asks. "Seriously, I could have got it wrong; it wouldn't hurt to have them read through it and see what they think it means."

"If they don't come out, we should definitely go in."

[Mage ST]

Shodan gets a phone call and leaves.

[Yumyumcrow]

Striga Mortis smiled, he hand still open and inviting.

"Just confirming what we all know. Striga Mortis, Necromancer on the Path of Doom, Scion of the Watchtower of the Lead Coin. Yadda yadda yadda. You really here for the good music? Or was the specific thing ... more, you know, rarified? Not for the public eye."

The extended hand shifted, became a pointing finger posed just so, and jabbed in the direction of the pair from Sacramento.

"And who are you guys anyway? I'd have recognised you from our regular Assembly meetings... And our Consilium meetings - yes, Satyricon I know. But we Libertines do actually keep up an Assembly as well. We have secret stuff..."

She smirked. Winked at Pixel

Harmony cracked a laugh. Satyricon groaned, rolled his eyes, smiled and raised his hands in mock surrender.

[Kaze]

With Shodan's sudden departure, Kaze looks around warily. Then he moves to a point further down the street from the store where the other mages have gone in, trying to avoid drawing attention by lingering outside, but definitely keeping an eye on the entrance to the place, so he will see when they come out or if anyone suspicious or noteworthy goes in while they are still in there.

Pixel accepted the phone

​"Rarified."

Pixel is noticeably more relaxed as words like Necromancer and Concilium start floating. He chuckles when Striga winks and mentions secret stuff.

"He's a Mystagogue and I'm a Libertine from Sacramento. We heard you had a thing he wants so here we are."

When Satyricon raises his hands in surrender he gets a look a from Pixel. A look that was jealous. A look that longed for the degree of autonomy an independent Assembly required. A look that said pretty clearly to Abacus he wasn't thrilled with his situation in Sacramento.

"Oh." Pixel returns to attention and looks around like he just remembered the oven is on at the Assembly hall. "We have people with us. You mind if I grab them real quick?"

[Abacus]

Cards on the table. But not all of them. He suspected revealing his Order would raise some eyebrows. Especially from Libertines. He suspected they thought anyone that wasn't a Libertine would just as quickly sell them off to the Guardians of the Veil.

He thought to reassure them.

"Don't worry. I'm not a Censor. Far from it. There's a vinyl we're interested in. Dark Revolution."

The look did not go unnoticed. Yearning. But it looked no different from the doe-eyed aspiration of the youthful who wanted to change the world someday. The only difference was that Pixel was powerful enough to crack his Will like an egg and spread it over the Fallen landscape.

These things took time. These rockers were older, more experienced, and from an age where there were things to fight for. They built their city already. He wondered how long it would take for that unenthused disillusionment to blossom into something. He'd be an example to the rest.

"I'm sure it won't be too much of a problem?"

He really did love it when things worked themselves out. Although he was far from certain that they were out of the wheelhouse.

"More the merrier."

Harmony grinned impishly from the counter where she finished up their purchases.

Satyricon coughed very carefully. "Yeah... Bring them in if they'e part of your group."

Striga raised a manicured eyebrow - first at the jealousy flaring behind Pixel's eyes, and secondly at Abacus' request. She unsuccessfully covers this with a sultry chuckle and an artful shift in her posture - hand on hip, other hand raking through her hair.

"We keep a signed CD over there. It has a way of coming back into our hands. As for the vinyl... We don't have it. But we do know who does."

Her lips quirk into a hungry smirk, almost goading the Enchanter. With an effort she stills her face into a business-like mask.

"Seriously though, my advice would be to leave that one alone. The vinyl has a habit of passing around... A lot. You could make your play for it then. I think it would be a lot safer."

But she didn't say who had the Grimoire.

[Kaze]

Kaze checks the time on his phone, trying to make it look like he's just hanging out fiddling with his smartphone. How much time is left? If it's been ten minutes, Kaze will go in to the shop where the others are.

[Pixel]

Pixel waits. With the lull in the conversation he heads outside to grab Kaze.

"Uh oh."

He was not where Pixel had left him, and as Pixel scanned the street a vein of concern began to develop. Sure enough though he hadn't wandered far. Which was not apparently the case for Shodan. Still, Pixel waved Kaze over and returned inside.

"So where is it? Also why would it be safer to wait?"
