Striking Looks"Hello." Pixel smiles and waves to the woman. He gave up on subtly after Abacus's cast, but then another glyph appears without warning. It's function unknown. He couldn't stop it, though he was clearly in it's area of effect.
He waited a second, cool as a cucumber, and then turned his attention to the counter person they were talking to.
"Anything interesting around?"
His eyes flick up to the noise, but his attention stayed fixed on where rocker billie's eyes turn.

Kaze there is a method to the madness. There is a code hidden among the mass of old (and new) flyers - he is just not familiar with the code being used.
@Ruach Kaze can try to piece together some of the messages with Wits + Investigation -2 penalty (working on the fly, no reference points)
Shodan sets himself up and casts his spell. The Influence does work - just. The sound isn't perfect and is muffled by the intervening wall and window. Still, it is better than nothing.
Rockier Billie had been fixing her gaze on Abacus but has to switch her gaze when Pixel starts asking questions. After a moment of hesitation, the impish grin returns - which seems to grow wider and more cattish when she catches the flicker in the Warlock's gaze.
"Oh yeah. Plenty. If you like music. You like music, right? Real music? We got some real music here. And the stuff we sell is sure to have the right vibe for what you need."
She stressed the word 'vibe', drawing it out with her grating affectation as her eyes bounce between the Enchanter and the Warlock.
To Abacus "I work here."
He is staring at the neon spray of flowing filaments that surround Rocker Billie, focussing on the warp and the weft and the layering of the strands. Knowledge takes its time as he unravels the layers of interconnection. So far, he has only cracked the Described and Encountered connections - and most of the shops contents is at that level of connection with her; same with her connection to the Sleeper.
@Hiver Abacus is welcome to continue delving into her Interconnections should you wish.
Over in the corner, Shaven Head is quietly wrapping up his business with the Sleeper. A rush of goose bumps indicate a new spell in use.
"Yeah. This is a keeper. Beautiful craftsmanship. Look, tell you what - we can probably put this one aside. Go away. Think on it. I know its a little expensive and I'll talk to Striga. Come back in a few and we'll see if we can work on a deal..."

He glances at Shaven Head, only to turn back and look at the Rocker Billie. The raised skin does not go unnoticed. In fact, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he knowswho he is dealing with. He is in the right place at the right time. The lynchpin is standing right in front of him. Or at the very least, one of them, through which its manipulation will bring him one step closer to sublime Truth.
He needed small talk to pad the suspicion growing between the parties involved. Play the game. Maybe they could walk out of here with their Patterns in tact.
Although...he had Libertines with him. If the deal went south, and these are the band members of note, then he could pull some Order strings. If the Free Council could even call themselves an Order.
"This is my nephew", he said, gesturing to the Warlock. He hoped to Arcadia that the boy took an introductory acting class and could play along.
"I told him about the last time I went to Burning Man. He's something of an old soul, so I thought I'd humour him with some of the good stuff, you know what I mean? None of that drum-and-base wobble bullshit."
The smile is genuine. They are here for discovery. But for the Enchanter, this was layered. The manifold of her weight was a slowly blooming flower in his vision. Maybe he could unfurl the petals some more. He could only see her ties to the many posters and vinyl records that cluttered this dust heap.
The pursuitelectrified him. This was his domain.
"And I wouldn't mind getting to know some sounds I haven't heard in a long time. Something that'll speak to me, y'know? Really talk."

Kaze concentrates hard on figuring out the code in the notice board, his intuition telling him this could be important. He begins to think he might be seeing a pattern....

And all the while, Shodan just stands there, taking in the conversation. From what he could hear it wasn't all that interesting - so far - but with any luck both Abacus and the owners will soon move on to discuss actual business. Just to make sure he picks up all the important bits, the Libertine focuses on the sounds...
... but also trying to stay alert of any... irregularities or lurking dangers. He doesn't expect Sleeper burglars breaking in to a record store, of all places, but less mundane things might be about, especially in the unknown territory that was San Fran.

Abacus's lie was less then convincing, and he was half tempted to step in and salvage the scenario. Still, he didn't really need to lie for what they came for. Add in the mystery glyph and Pixel was rather sold on flying as straight as possible, if only to say that he tried to.
"Yeah, so what's the vibe like upstairs? Anything we can get a sneak peak at?"
Something whispered to his minds eye, and regardless of Abacus's intent Pixel was intent on finding out what those whispers were. For all they know heir goal was one and the same.

Rocker Billie makes a sultry noise that might have been a laugh.
"Burning Man. Totally. Love. It." She then figuratively opens up, swamping the Enchanter with a discussion of the music scene and the state of the festival circuit. Along the way, she helpfully points out what CD's and music related merchandise the store has available for sale. If Abacus and Pixelbuy into itplay along, she will quite gleefully build a CD list that will suit his needs - all the while remaining in character, with an affected croak that sounds like a gravelly, wheezing, bagpipe.
And she really, really, wants to make a sale... She even leaves the sanctuary of the counter to do it, leading them around the store and pulling out CDs and Vinyl that might fit their requirements.
Not of a whisper of Dark Revelation.
Shaven Head herd's the Sleeper musician out the door - gently but determinedly, like the older man is an old friend who will be back... tomorrow... once the bald headed man has attempted to work out a better price for his customer.
He at last turns his attention to the pair.
"Oh we party like you wouldn't believe. We are lucky enough to board with Striga. One big dysfunctional family..."
He moves closer to join Rocker Billie on her tour / circuit ofsalediscovery...
He is hugging his sides as if he has experienced a sudden chill.
"Its just... our home. The store is all down here." His lips are pinched within the frame of his short, well groomed, beard as he looks over at both Pixel and Abacus.

Outside
Shodan overhears all of this but it is an effort, even with his spell work. His attention caught, he can't really focus on much else - Kaze though, appears to have found something in the message board.
Looking through the window he can now see Shaven Head as he moves to join Rocker Billie - and Pixel and Abacus.
A tubby older guy leaves the shop with a determined set his face - and he apparently ignores the rather suspicious looking duo (of the two mages) as he exits the alley and walks away. The Mighty gets a flash of the man's Sleeper aura with a spell glyph floating in it.
Kaze has a eureka moment, spurred on by the twin pushes of [i]desire and lack of time. The code isn't that difficult, it is just unfamiliar and an AA reference to something other than a little meeting hall gives him his rosetta stone. The message board describes the comings and goings of mages and Cabals in the Golden Concilium. The shop appears to be the domain of a cabal called the Lotus Eaters - Libertine and Mysterium.
There is a warning about Scelesti.
And a directive from Hierarch Venois about authorising a Guardian cabal called the Snakes to investigate the matter further.
There is also a note informing all Awakened to contact the Silver Ladder or the Guardians of the Veil in event of contact with the River City Consilium - Sacramento.
Abacus continues his scrutiny of Rocker Billie's fated threads...
Rocker Billie is not being possessed, nor is she the subject of any supernatural influence. She has a mix of threads, shooting across the room and up into the ceiling; other threads fan out to the north, south and east.
She has an Intimate connection to at least one person in the floor above, and to the shop (as well as the presumed Sanctum above). She has an Intimate connection to Shaven Head, less a personal connection as a mystical tie.
Other Intimate threads fan out to the north and the south - some are personal, others appear to have a more mystical quality.
Rocker Billie has a wide fan of Acquainted connections that fan out around her in all directions.

The Stones. Pink Floyd. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. The sort of classic vinyl his dad would play in the car. It's familiar, but distant. The kind of thing he would come back to at family gatherings. It's an ebbing nostalgia that brings a genuine brightness to his eyes. But nothing more that a dim glow of remembrance.
The Enchanter felt that was the right amount of jadedness for Rocker Billie. Her threads confirmed his thoughts. Shaven Head was connected to her in some way, shape or form. The going hypothesis was that they committed Will work together, given that the bond was more mystical than personal.
Was it time to play the card? Maybe...
He settled on "From the Mars Hotel". He was a certified DeadHead.
"I'll take this one. Got any punk?"
