Tower Talk

[Kaze]

Kaze smiles, listens and doesn’t rush to speak or agree when Phoenyx says he should go. He nods when Phoenyx says he could wait instead.

”I don’t have to go. I’ll wait for you.” Kaze says.

” I brought pizza. When you’re ready, we could eat some and go out if you want. There’s a re-release of, ‘Lost Boys ‘ showing, we could go to, if you want, or we could see something else...?”

[Phoenyx]

The Arrow looks reluctant. "That's not a good idea. I want to do this slowly, so I can figure out what we are doing again. Let me take a shower and I'll see you in a minute."

She turns and makes her way out of the room.

After about twenty minutes she comes back, wearing what Kaze can tell is one of Phoenyx's nicer casual tops. She grabs her coffee and sits, pulling a slice of pizza from the box. "So.... what have you been up to? We didn't exactly talk much lately. You said you found your father?"

[Kaze]

Kaze nods, “Okay.” He says and waits, meditating, literally in a lotus position while Phoenyx freshens up.

He rises looking refreshed himself when she comes back. He seems pretty relaxed as they eat the pizza, and nod with a small sigh when she asks about his earlier statement.
After a thoughtful pause while he finishes a bite, he answers.

"Remember that road trip to parachute from a balloon? I thought I saw him, on a billboard. A while later, I saw a documentary about him, same name, same face, but in the documentary, he grew up in Hawaii and never married and has no kids. Oh, and he was born about ten years later. So...weird, right?"

Kaze doesn’t seem ready to disclose details about his father and the reason for his apparent prominence.

”I haven’t seen him since he left when I was ten. I’m not in a hurry to do anything.”

“I’m going to wait and see what happens with...my life here, before I make any plans.”

”I was pretty young; some of it could even be that I just remembered things wrong. But it can’t be same guy, if the information out there now is right, he would have been about fourteen when I was born. But he looks exactly like him and has the same name. When I have my stuff together, I’m going to check this out. “

“It’s been kind of blowing my mind and I don’t know what to feel about it, but for now I’m keeping the details to myself until I find out more about him. If he’s changed his history records for a good reason, I don’t want to mess things up for him. I mean, I’m already having to work on being better at keeping secrets.”

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx nods. "It was so much fun. I remember you pointing it out."

She munchs a slice of pizza. "Is that why we're eating Hawaiian?" she asks innocently.

The Arrow nods. "You kinda do. Or just know when to shut up," She smiles, and sips her coffee. "Well... let me know if you leave. I'm sick of people just leaving without telling anyone." Attention is returned to the slice.

[Kaze]

Kaze grins, “I love Hawaiian!” He says, “I guess a research trip to Honolulu could be fun, maybe down the line....”

At her request, he nods, “I promise if you do. At least Alastor said ‘goodbye ‘...I keep wishing Weavebreaker were still around!”

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx looks down, and blushes. "Of course, dummy." She didn't want to be a hypocrite.

"I don't know about Honalulu. It's a long way away I have to watch the Circle, without any other Arrows left." She shrugs. "Besides, maybe that might be better done alone. In case you do find your father." The Talon certainly didn't want anyone finding her parents.

[Kaze]

Kaze nods and smiles, apparently reassured at the mutual bond and promise.

He eats his slice of pizza, taking a deep drink from his water bottle.

He nods again, not smiling, at Phoenyx’s reminder that he is alone, at least in some things.

”Phoenyx. There’s something I want to say...but even I can tell it is the wrong time, way too soon . But I don’t want to wait too long either. I need you to let me know, when you’re ready to talk about...things. Practical things.” He says seriously and apparently unintentionally mysteriously.

[Phoenyx]

The Arrow delicately finishes her slice of pizza and genteely licks some sauce from her fingers.

Kaze's words just make her look confused. "What?" She asks quizzically.

[Kaze]

Kaze sighs. “Phoenyx...right now, we’re okay, at least it feels like we are. I really just want to enjoy spending time relaxing together, hanging out. I really don’t want to say something stupid and mess that up.” He smiles ruefully, “I mean, I admit it’s probably inevitable, but I don’t have to do it today, right?”

[Phoenyx]

The Arrow cockes her head, and a stern or perhaps irritated edge creeping into her voice. "What?? What are you talking about, Kaze?"
