Tower Talk

[Kaze]

Kaze surpresses a smile and shakes his head gently, "Nothing. I am just enjoying us being friends, Phoenyx." He says smiling now. "I had a lot of time missing you, and adjusting to being 'just friends'. I think I finally called you because I wanted to be friends, really want to be your friend."

[Phoenyx]

"You are my friend, dummy," the Talon says in a matter-of-fact tone. She turns and looks at him levelly. "I... missed you too. I... didn't like what you said back then. It hurt me in a way I couldn't fix. I felt crushed because I wasn't enough, again." Like when she had los tthe fight and kept all her feeling in. One with a more rounded view of life might call it Pride. "But what compounded that was that you lied to me, Kaze. I let you into my life and you pretended to be something else just to be what I wanted. That was what hurt. I didn't know how far back you were pretending. Whether it all was a lie, right from the day we met."

Phoenyx sips her coffee. She doesn't normally drink coffee. Too strong, too consuming. Still, he had made it sweet enough that it wasn't awful. "So here's your chance. If something is wrong, if something is bothering you, tell me. But if you lie again, I will find you and kick your butt." The Arrow looked deadly serious, even by her standards.

[Kaze]

“Phoenyx.” Kaze says, then he pauses, “Okay, I could see how you could wonder about that.” He says.

”This isn’t that. I had an idea, was about to make a suggestion, and I realized it was unnecessary and stupid and maybe even provoking or insulting to say, so I decided not to be a dummy and let it go. It’s not some secret that I’m hiding. I’m good; I promise. Really.”

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx folds her arms and leers. "What was the idea, Kaze?"

[Kaze]

Kaze chews thoughtfully, finishing his piece of pizza and wiping his mouth with a napkin.

He shakes his head gently and rises from his seat, “Phoenyx, I’m not going to fight. I am getting ready for a month, without any connection to people. I’m not going to spend the month rehearsing our last conversation regretting some fight over something stupid.” He says, smiling.

”Thank you for asking me to come over. I would like to do it more, you know, after I finish my sentence. I really should go now though, and get everything ready. I have some assignments to turn in early and stuff.”

Sorry to end the scene abruptly without the usual exchanges OOC! I only have a day or two from the end of Consilium to the start of the next one, but Kaze had a whole month in between to wrap things up IC!
