(Broken Cycle) Night Terrors

[Rhodes]

Emerald eyes follow her gaze. Could she see something he could not?

"Darling, there is no shame in recognising the power of the Gentry," Rhodes adds softly. "I would never advise fighting one when we can run, even in the dreaming."

Again, the Dread Lord looks to the corners with her, though his gaze is more curious than fearful. "We're safe here, darling. Go to sleep. I'll watch over you." He kisses her softly on the cheek.

[Seraphina]

Wait, was that a growl? And her head whips around to look behind her. Blinking at the dark corners, she trembles. Too many corners here. Too much darkness that they could hide in.

Finally, after a few moments, she appears to focus on him, and nods. Knowing he was right and doesn’t argue.

“Are we?” looking around again, “There are no dogs here?” fear and uncertainty in her voice, her eyes intently looking at him. Looking for a lie. “I’m so tired,” her body weak, “but I don’t know if I can sleep.” Hesitantly laying down, scared eyes still looking around as she pressed herself against Rhodes. Seeking the comfort that only he could give. Body still shaking slightly.

[Rhodes]

Rhodes looks concerned. "No, Sera. No dogs. I made this place myself, remember." He sits up and cups her face gently in one hand. Of course - she had been ejected from the Dream with such force.

Slender arms wrap reassuringly around her. "It's alright, darling. We're safe for now. We can rest here, or go home. Here there are my arcane defences. But you need to rest. I will be here. I promise."

Truth be told, he did too. but it was clear she was so much more exhausted, having been smacked right out of the dream. And the Flowering had to protect her. Even from herself.

There was a moment as she listened, and looked around again. Trying to believe him, but there was that little part of her that refused. At this point in time. Absently, she nods her head, “You made this place.” She mutters, eyes still stealing glances at the corners.

As he wrapped his arms around her, she seemed to collapse against him. Tears escaping her eyes, “I’ll,” she begins, voice trembling, “I’ll try.” And after a few moments, her body relaxed as she drifted off.

Secured within the heart of the Autumn Hollow, the Dread King at her side, her silent, sentry. Seraphina sleeps. Dreams, and heals.

Though they both knew that what ejected the Spring Queen from the Dream, and the Fae that was Hunting Rhodes now, would need to be addressed. This was a problem larger then the two of them.
