Mable laid naked in a pool of her own blood, shivering and praying. She was calling on all her gods and goddesses to help her understand. She had been abandoned by Thomas and Krieg.

The alien being had taken in so much of her blood and given her very little information. That was Mable’s fault, her own ignorance in not knowing what to ask. She helped it, with her blood and she tried to protect it with her body. All she did was get beaten up inside and out. Her head still hurt from the mind raping she received. She didn’t realize she was the enemy. She had been left alone, abandoned. She couldn’t let anything hurt it, nor could she let the mask be breached. How was she supposed to know the tall alien dudes were the protectors, they acted like they wanted to hurt it. She sighed in the dark and rolled over to her back. She pushed some blood to heal enough to leave here.

Did it make them all leave? Did it do something to Adam to make him flip out like he did? Did it just enhance what was there for them all, all along? Krieg and Thomas with their studies abroad. El, she left to go help people in another area who needed medical care. And Adam went all religious fanatic.

Creation is power. Tribulation brings enlightenment.

Finally, she was well enough to leave and go home. She went to the sacred grove to pray and heal more. It was her private area. Her place of power and faith. Alone, she would turn more focus on her faith. It was something the guys never really understood. They both were more interested in studies.

Mable waiting for the power, for the enlightenment. She was trying too hard. She stopped thinking and just laid there being, feeling. Letting the night air run its cool soft fingers over her body. Healing her, strengthening her, readying her for the next step of whatever fate had in store for her.

Her mind kept reeling around how everyone always left her. They all left. Everyone she got close to left. She was cursed. It wasn’t safe to get close to her. Obviously, her road was for her alone. But did that mean she wasn’t allowed companions beyond the cats, chickens and her raven?

Mable sunk into the earth slowly, letting the bloody mud coat her skin. Her skin began to tingle and burn. The blood began to glow a soft rosy red. Mable laid there partially emerged into the ground. Tree roots grew closer to her like fingers with gnarled long nails scratching her. Hunger filled her mind. Almost all consuming. Her vision filled with blood red juice dripping from a fruit. Her tongue reaching for the juice, the need… the urge… the desire… the lust all filled her to the core. The branches held her in place. She struggled and strained against them. She must have the red juice.

Suddenly it stopped. And she knew… she knew she could force others to feel that lustful hunger. The goddess Persephone had answered her by granting her some power. Mable smiled sweetly at the thoughts.

The sweet realizations ended abruptly as mable’s vision and hearing shifted as if they were being taken away by a bird…she could see a mouse in the distance and swooped down to get it. It screeched the was silent. Next, she shifted to looking at a random street. She could hear all the noises of the city. Then everything flew back to her. The sensations left her head whirling. Anxiety flushed through her and then quickly left. The branches still held her tight. She struggled then relaxed as realization took over. She had heard about this, she could use it. She relaxed against the branches.

The branches released her as she pushed back up through the earth. Mable sat up and pulled her knees under her chin wrapping her arms around her legs. She was exhausted. This still didn’t help offer any explanation as to the alien being issue. She needed answers and didn’t have any. She had to hope one of the men would find something in their studies. For now, she would say nothing more about it to anyone else.

Mable joined with the earth to sleep through the day. The animals would be fine, she needed rest.

Tribulation brought enlightenment and power.
