There were patterns. They were slight, but they were THERE. Spirits helped a little- weak gafflings, fragments of fragments, tossed bits of coffee grinds to point in the right direction- helped find the links and connections... 'Helped.'

It took a whole journal's worth of sketches and scribbles, much walking and biking, a few weeks of research (what research could be done, of course)... Using what Nathaniel knew regarding the identification of Loci and other places of Spiritual importance didn't seem to assist much in the process. Sure, some things might conveniently intersect... Was it convenience? It was impossible to tell- perhaps the sketches he'd made weren't even entirely accurate....

But there were patterns. After weeks of study, the wolf swore he could see them when he closed his eyes.

Now back in his home, Nathaniel sat wondering at the implications. Many myths and legends put stock in patterns- numbers and geography, mainly. Mostly recurring themes, puzzles to be solved. Or puzzles that couldn't be solved, or with pieces ever-changing.

He sketched out those locations he thought to be the most accurate representations. Marked the places they intersected. He would enlist Emily's help at some point, if she was willing- Nathaniel wanted to test a theory.
