Territory...marking?

It's not hard to find the cause of the sirens and the police activity. In fact its almost to easy. Dusk has faded to night and this night is full of colors. Flashing bright colors. During the day Crocker Park offers trees and a small open grass field in downtown Sacramento. At night, well other nights, it could be a quiet place to enjoy solitude or the starting grounds for one hell of a party.

Tonight though the park is surrounded by police and news vehicles. Sacramento PD cruisers and suvs quite literally surround the block by block park. Where a vehicle isn't blocking access police tape has been pulled to form a barrier of thin ribbon. Outside of that line local news crews are going Live and getting ready to go Live.

Officers watch the news crews and a slowly growing crowd. There are a few that remain inside of the police line but the majority have made their way outside of it and now stoically look out, away, from the park.

From a block away the pack sees all of this. Over the local radio station they hear "...police are refusing to comment on the developing situation at Crocker Park. Local callers have reported hearing what sounded like an animal attack. We will keep you informed Sacramento, as we always do..."

This continues the story from Marking the Territory. I've tagged the rest of the wolves as well in case they happen to hear about what is occurring and decide to investigate.

[Emily Makerith]

The punky Crescent watches the chaos unfold. "This is a clusterfuck!" She whispers to Brigit and Matt. "Somewhere in that thing there's a set of wolves. How the fuck are we gonna get through that?" Emily asks, waving her cigarette at the gaggle of reporters.

Slowly, she looks around, lingering a little on the hot-dog vendor and chewing her lip absently. Emily blows smoke into the air.

Brigit parks the Defender, looking to the police line and then their greater surroundings, looking for any alleyway as she remained seated in her vehicle.

"The goal is still the same," she said, "We need to get them out of the city center. Easiest way to do that is to let them know we're here. And, since we don't really got their number to call them and challenge in the tongue, we have to show them another way."

Dark eyes, look back to Emily.

"We need to howl," she said bluntly, "Near enough so that they can hear us and far enough to draw them from the park."

Then a shrug.

"It's that or stepping sideways to get past the line and then investigate," she said, offering a counter solution if her pack didn't like the first, "but there's a lot of eyes on the park. I think it'd be better to pull them away... And I think they'd follow given a challenge. The Anshega exist to destroy - or convert - the Urdaga."

A pause follows as she looks to Matt and Emily for their reactions and counter points.

[Matt Joule]

Matt nods at Brigit. "Smart." He says. "So...should we find out what's going on first? I'm not wanted for anything. Maybe move up in the crowd and see what we can see and hear and smell before we let them know we are here." Matt proposes. He looks at Emily to see what she says.

Sound and noise fill the night. Traffic can be heard behind you all, where life is continuing more or less the same. Closer to the park itself murmurs turn into soft words and finally into shouts when bystanders draw to close. Then a police officer shoots towards a news crew that was getting, just maybe, a bit to close.

"Back up! The Coroner's people are on their way. No one is allowed in until they get to look over the crime scene." Even at a short distance you all can see that the cop shakes his head and mutters something.

The words roll through with sorrow. "You don't want any photos of this anyway, there's only parts."

[Matt Joule]

Matt works his way to the front edge of the crowd and then backs up just a little to comply with the police officer. He stays just behind the news crew, not wanting to be on camera but wanting to hear and see and smell as much as he can.

Emily stares at Brigit, wide-eyed, and slowly a grin spreads over her face. "Yes... that's so crazy it might actually work!" She nods in agreement. "We're gonna have to do it where no-one else can see us."

She looks up at Matt. "I dunno. I think we jusr need to lure the crazies outta here where we can take care of them, Luna stylez." the Crescent looks up and down the street.

Brigit offers a small smile to her packmates. A brief glance to the policeman and his talk with the news crew is given, but its clear the Redeemed doesn't here his muttering.

"Alright, let's find an alley then," she said, "Close enough for them to hear us easily, but far enough to get out of the major part of city. Any ideas?"

Brigit had a vague plan, but Emily knew the city best. If there was any hope of success, the pack needed her input.

[Matt Joule]

Matt nods once, quickly, smiling a hungry, feral smile. "Skipping straight to the ambush works fine for me." he says in a deep, happy rumble.

He follows Emily's lead to the alley of her choice; his own appetite, for violence, is in evidence from his obvious, eager anticipation.
