Incidentally, all that was said will be transmitted to Phoenyx and Kaze via their radio link. It's a good compromise between being informative and innocuous. Shodan thinks himself quite clever for that. Approaching the guard, he says simply "We're on the list tonight" Now that his resolve is back, the Prime Mover puts on a confident face.

Kaze moves slowly and cautiously towards Shodan, watching all around him and prepared to use Brawling Dodge to enhance his ability to avoid any attacks from the mob of strangely acting and strangely appearing dancers!
He dropped his Tunein spell when he cast Nightvision on himself, so he doesn't hear Shodan or Phoenyx. It does appear that Shodan is right in front of him though....
You think you've heard something, drowned amid a sea of noise. Could they hear your monitum? You don't know.
The sharp scent of the ghastly ichor pierces the air, it reeks of mud and salt-water. After some strain, your eyes breach the veil of shadow, it's not enough for the Aetheric light to banish the curtain of darkness blanketing the hallway, but at least the shackles of this fallen reality have been lifted from your mind.

Where your fingers once clung, the wall has morphed into a sea of skin, a blurred mass of shuffling faces and tangled limbs the yellowish tinge of old flesh. Occasionally one such faces crystallizes for a second [wits + composure - 3 (to recognize them, night vision has already been factored in)], the contorted edges of its lips twisted into a mask of pain, and like a beggar would beseech you for alms, it too calls for your ear to hear his whispered wisdom.
In front of you, the hallway seems to go on forever. Behind, the rushing sound of flowing water echoes until it can be heard no more. Suddenly, like the two folds of a gaping wound, the space to your back snaps with a sickening thud, sealing your retreat and prompting you to advance further.

Shodan: "Yeah, whatever", the man replies, crossing your personal space again and placing a big, friendly hand on your shoulder. "So, you said they'll let us in, right?", he says squeezing hard on it, a big smile plastered over his face.
"Let me check", the bouncer replies in a raspy voice barely above the booming crashes from the speakers. He blocks the two of you and urges you to stay put.
All around, screams, shouts. The party is getting heated. "Too many drinks", the guy says aloud.

You hear Shodan's words before you cut the broadcast, isolating yourself under a blanket of tranquility.
Shodan is not Shodan, neither his action nor his words make much sense. One moment he's staying put, surrounded by those fleshy marionettes that used to be the dancers, and another he just springs up and crosses the floor, carelessly bumping into those THINGS like it's nothing. To add insult to injury, he's barely paying attention to you.
Despite your best effort, the distance between you keeps growing. Unlike him, you have to sneak past the dancers, trying to avoid contact at all cost and soon he'll disappear inside the VIP lounge.
The eerie feeling is not unlike what a deep sea diver would normally experience deep down, when the beat of his heart drumming in his ears is the only reminder of warmth. Unlike a diver though, you know you're being watched.
Suddenly a boom, followed by a crash. The floor beneath you starts shaking uncontrollably. [dex+ath - 1 penalty (night vision couldn't deny darkness in full), 3 successes]
Keep in mind that mages can keep up a number of spells equal to their gnosis + 3. With Night Vision, Phoenyx is above that limit, which means she'll have to declare a spell she wants to unweave.
Night vision cancels penalty from darkness on a 1 for 1 basis. Both Phoenyx and Kaze still suffer from a -1 penalty on all rolls involving eyesight (-3 from darkness minus +2 from the potency of their spells)

The young mage proceeds with caution, trying to avoid contact with anyone and carefully pick is way through, trailing Shodan without undue haste, not worrying about falling behind but not losing the trail either, and above all staying alert. Even if he can't trust his senses, he is using them to their fullest to get a read on the changing situation!

Stopped by the bouncer, Shodan takes the opportunity to perh up his ears, in a metaphorical and literal sense. Calling down a tiny bit of Aether magic, the Libertine pulls the screams and shouts from the VIP area towards him. Maybe they are nothing. Some corporate schmo or Internet starlet overdoing it with the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. But he's seen enough worrying signs tonight to be extra careful about where he's stepping foot. If that doesn't yield any exciting results, the same will be done for any nearby sources of loud noises, provided they seem to be at least a bit out of the ordinary in this setting.
The Obrimos' other senses are equally put on alert, not wanting to miss anything that might slip past him in this place.
And his friend? Shodan shrugs and smiles, as confident as ever. Once the guard clears them for entering, the mage will extend his hand in a 'this way please' gesture, without being so quick to enter himself just yet.

Skin. A wall of flesh. In a split second the knife is in her hand, ready to lash at the tangles limbs and bulging ripples on the wall. Faces, unrecognised, press out and writhe in the area.
Turning to face back the way she came, Phoenyx sees the corridor force shut like some alien amoebic wall or enormous valve in some biological tube.
Her stomach clenches.
Whirling around she presses down the corridor, her pace quickening now she can finally see.... and doesn't like what is there.
"Can you hear me? Shodan? Kaze? Get out now. It's a trap!"

Shodan: For a second the booming sounds go quiet and the Libertine is reminded of that lab experiment (or of what occurs whenever he finds himself in the wilderness) he once performed during a physics class when they were studying the red-shift of a dying supernova. It's... unsettling to say the least, unlike the swan's song of a dead star this noise recursively calls itself, repeating in a loop. Was it Phoenyx's voice, running in the background?
From the rest of the room comes a loud crash, followed by muffled sounds, eventually people start cheering and enjoying themselves again.
Roll: Int + Science, target of 2 successes, to discover that it's some form of code. Deciphering it will be a lot harder, though.
The bouncer ushers the both of you past the entrance of the VIP area. Ahead of you: a large and narrow corridor, the walls - illuminated by soft lights, like those of a strip club - are covered in red velvet.
Contestual spellcasting (that's it, casting a spell on something you see, as opposite to performing a spell and then leaving the area) extends to the minimum between 200 yards and sensory range. In this instance, Shodan can redirect the sound reaching the entrance of the VIP area. What doesn't reach that point, won't be redirected. Also, read Discord DMs, some hints can't be shared with other characters in order to not spoil
Kaze: You're quick, but not quick enough. The ground collapses under your feet and there's little foothold for you to steady yourself; with your balance gone you follow the rest of the dancers in the darkness below, swallowed by a curtain of shadows. The last image you see, is that of Shodan leaving for the VIP area.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the landing It's just a second, but enough for you to process what's happening. You know as you float midair, that you have to brace for the impact, find a way to soften the fall, perhaps by rolling to the side. Anything helps.
Roll: your current dex + athletic + half of your dots in life (from the armor) each success will subtracts one level of bashing damage from a base pool of 12. This roll is reflexive. You might also attempt casting a spell, which might help. The situation will levy an additional 2 dice penalty to your spellcasting roll, though
