Matt bristles a bit at the robed spirit, "Telling the end? Or making it happen?" he mutters, tensely. "Is it the ghost of Christmas Past or Present?"
He does his best to stay alert and ready for fighting.

Sharp eyes find the robed spirit as Brigit-Urshal's body tenses. A huff sounds from her snout, but the great, fair-furred wolf doesn't budge. They were deep within Downtown and the Alpha had not yet called for a target. Dark eyes find the Alpha, watching him for a moment before her gaze is turned to Matt. To his statement, the Urshal only offers a wolfish grunt before looking back to where the spirit had been.
The Talon was ready to hunt and eager. She only needed to be unleashed.
Emily whirls around at the sound of the bell, an involuntary growl borne of years working the Hisil alone rumbling in her throat.
<<Now what?>>
Spirits sometimes looked all that but were just trying to hid, much like any other. Emily called on the Crescent Choir to try and guage how dangerous this ominous spirit was.
2 successes
Know Spirit gets Emily, the name, type and Rank, and... lets say how much Essence does it have? (2 successes = base info +1 other detail)
Hector had been leading from the front, loping ahead with a purposeful look on his lupine face.
He slows to a stop when the Hisil changes so abruptly around them. His head snaps from one side to another; his nostrils flare. He stands poised, one forepaw raking at the ground almost as if the Alpha was contemplating his moves.
With a sly tilt of his head, Hector leans into Emily.
<<What is it?>>
The spirit, for Emily can be sure of that now, continues its measured walking towards the pack. One block away and the pack can tell that this spirit is the source of that tolling bell. It's hooded head, or where one would be if it were not all shadows on the inside, rises and looks towards you all.
<<Only true faith brings clarity. Only true faith brings strength. You have been judged as wanting.>> With that the spirit rises mere inches off the ground and rushes at the pack. Mallet raised.
Know Spirit
Matt starts to snarl without realizing it, and tenses to rush forward, to meet the spirit's charge, but he knows the Alpha would be mad at him, that he could throw off the whole pack by rushing out on his own. He's done it before. So he makes himself wait, on a hair trigger, for the Alpha's command.
<<Gaffling. A big one. Strong.>> Emily-Urshal barks, pulling up alongside Matt. Her heckles are rising along her back and a low growl rumbles in her throat.
<<Leave here! We claim this!>> she snarls at the silently charging spirit. She didn't expect it to work. Quietly, the Ithaeur was kind of hoping it didn't. She wanted to fight.
Hector waited for their Ithaeur too snarl.
He had been hoping... praying... that a spirit of some sort would challenge them. Clarion Call needed to lock down their territory and a scrap was the best way to do that. The Alpha had been thinking that he'd have to go looking for some suitable prey on their hunt, but a challenger had come to them instead.
Emily's warning growl was all he needed.
<<Challenge accepted>>
Hector all but roared as he rushed forward to meet the oncoming spirit. The Cahalith did not have those silvery brands of Glory for nothing!
The silent Urshal who was Brigit finally snarled as the Alpha bounded forward to meet the prey before them. The Alpha's actions spoke of his intent and there was no chance in Hell the Redeemed would let him fight the great spirit alone.
Matt snarls and virtually launches himself forward as soon as the Alpha speaks! He is fully focused on burying his teeth in the foe!
