Rites and Pacts

[Nathaniel Dormur]

Nathaniel stood fully now, looking to the spirit, playing the drums- time to seal the deal.

The tone wasn't harsh- it was simply the end of an agreement. He had his job, and their business was done. They had paid their dues- now it was time for the spirit to pay it's. At the moment Nathaniel looked quite confident. In charge.

He was in his ideal space, of course. That probably had a hand in it.

[Kelreth]

With a single bob of its six-eyed head Eyes-With-Wings flares its wings. Strokes that send dust and coffee grounds flying push the spirit that pretends to be an owl into the air. Metal glistens along its talons and at the ends of its feathers. Once above head height the spirit angles and with several more broad strokes of its wings pulls itself higher and higher into the sky where it circles the pack for several long moments. <<Seek>> Then Eyes-With-Wings shifts and flies off into the Hisil's sky. Dodging looming buildings and lights poles that twitch as it nears.

Eyes-With-Wings is visible for a short time before the towering horizon of the downtown Hisil hides it from the sight of the pack.

Emily manages to hold it together until Eyes-with-Wings vanishes between the shadowy building. Then her shuddering breath becomes jilted sobs and she turns and buries her face into Brigit's shoulder, her arms protectively across her chest, and begins crying softly. The Rahu can feel the Dalu-Crescent shaking against her.

"They... were all gone...." Emily wimpers quietly, eyeliner ruined and soaking into Brigit's top. "We're not meant to be alone..."

It takes a minute for Emily to regain her composure. She looks very sheepish as she stops, and wipes her eyes on her arm, smearing mascara everywhere.

[Nathaniel Dormur]

After the ordeal, and once their new spy is out of view the young pup releases a long breath, not realizing he'd been holding his, unhooking and dropping the suddenly-heavy drums as his legs shake. He stumbles over to make sure the pile of coffee grounds are spread around enough to not cause confusion to any passerby, and then leans against a tree, breath shaky.

His sister seemed shaken- a few of them did. There was no telling what had been shared in those hushed whispers, but the ordeal clearly had an effect. Nathaniel had no idea how these people would react to his... Fascinations. He bit his lip and looked to the group after she'd calmed down.

"... So. How was that?... Did I offer too much?... Is there anything I can do?" And like that, the young pup was back to his more reserved self.

[Hector]

Hector had resumed his quiet vigil.

When the spirit moves and begins its hunt, the Cahalith can only...

Giggle.

Cackle.

Laugh.

If his half moon grin did not indicate his mood enough, the wink he directed to Nathaniel Dormur surely did.

Shall we draw this to a close?

[Brigit]

Brigit kept Emily close, letting the punk let it out in her whimpers while she watched the pack's newest ally depart to the skies.

As Emily spoke, Brigit wrapped her free arm around Emily to fully embrace her.

"You aren't alone," she whispered, her tone soft and comforting, "Not anymore."

The embrace remained once Emily composed herself, though it loosened to allow her freedom in her motions. The Ithaeur needed support and that wasn't going to change just because she was putting on a brave face. The Once-Pure would do what she could to ensure that need was met.

When Nathaniel asked his questions, Brigit said nothing. She didn't perform much rituals and felt the question was mostly for Emily or maybe Hector, but she knew the secrets each of them shared left their lips willingly. What they chose to speak was up to them, but it seemed the spirit was satisfied.

Emily sniffs audible, and turns to give Natantiel a smile through damp eyes. "You did great, buddy. Just great."

The Crescent stiffens for a moment, then relaxes into the embrace. "Thanks babe. You... uh, you wanna hang out again soon? Girls night?" She slips her arm around Brigit's waist, and looks at the rest of the pack.

"Well. *Ahem* That all went pretty well. So, like... um... go team. We can head out and handle territory securing, and when Eyes-with-wings gets back to us, we can check out where the Pure are lurking. Sound Good?" She smudges her panda-eyes a little more.

Nathaniel nods. Their newest members seemed better equipped to help his fellow shadow- he had no easy way to comfort what had been said. It seemed some of the secrets had more trauma than expected....

<<Eyes with wings had best/ remember our barg-...>>" Nathaniel twisted his tongue, realizing that he was no longer in the presence of a spirit, and cleared his throat, speaking normally. "Erm... It will remember this. I will make sure of that."

Nathaniel packed up his stuff, his drums, and smiled- not quite sure if he'd be walking home or not. Their pack leader's laugh was rather unsettling.

"Go... Team?"

Matt slaps Nathaniel on the back with a hearty slap! "Good job, Nathaniel! Now, we're finally getting somewhere! Making the Pack territory really ours!" in his most encouraging tone!

"No more just having things just show up with no warning and no idea where they sleep!" Matt says with obvious relish.
