Jacque looks to his two colleagues, "I got a chance to examine the body briefly but not long enough to get much of anything other than a sample of that hell juice."
He then focuses towards Mable, "Lets see if your contacts can uncover anything for us to start with. Cummings was going through a pretty nasty divorce so motive won't be in short supply. If we're lucky we'll have someone thorough with details in the report from the club. Deja Vu was the place."
If we're unlucky, we'll be dissolved by acid, he thought to himself.

Mable gave a nod. "No problem. Do you have anything you want me to find out specifically?" She figured that might sound stupid so she added, "I am just trying to decide which person to call. I also want to make sure we are as pointed in our questions as possible. If we simply want to hear gossip or if we want records it matters."
The sheriff ignored his question regarding the use of the Moore house to exam the body. Without resources to approach the problem, Adam felt like a third wheel in this investigation. He stood and observed out of the way. He needed more information about what all this was about.
He offered a smile to Mable. Perhaps he had not been clear when thinking out loud. After all, they had not seen what happened at the club, "The police report regarding any investigation of the homicide of Jeff Cummings would be a good start. If you can also acquire the medical reports from the paramedics or hospital it would be a bonus."
He glanced over to Adam who had been quiet since leaving the office. Lina had ignored both of their statements but at least Jacque could pursue the antidote later on his own. Adam, however, seemed like a fish out of water.
"Thanks. Let me make a couple of calls." Mable went off to the side to make her calls. She pulled out a notebook and purple pen from her backpack.
First Call was to one of her friends in the police department
2 successes
The Second call was to a friend in EMS that she had met during the fires.
2 successes
Mable's first call yielded her the name of the two officers who were on the scene. They reported that the man was dead on arrival and no CPR was administered. Some of the notes state that the man looked like he had taken a shot of acid. They did not interact with the body, but instead held off and waited for EMS.
Mable's EMS contact said that the Paramedics immediately went into chemical poisoning mode. Whatever it was that killed him, they theorized it wasn't in the air, or many others would be dead. They still called in a hazmat team, just to be on the safe side. One of the EMS said the man's face looked like he drank a beer bottle of lye.
The hazmat team found no external issues that would threaten the general public, and transported the body the city morgue.
"An inspection of the body would be a prudent move. Kine reports are sometimes mired with inaccuracies and speculative theories." Adam was still a bit put off by the snub of the Sheriff.
Mable gets off the phone and looks at the sheet of paper she took notes on.
"Ok, Not a huge amount of info. I do have the names of the officers who were first on the scene. The paramedics and Hazmat teams were called. I could stop into dispatch and get the names of the paramedics and who was on hazmat that day if that would help."
"Basically it looked like acid or lye ingestion. Not airborne. And the guy was transported to the morgue." Mable thought a moment.
"Do we have anyone who is connected with the morgue? We really need someone who does body transportation so we have an in."
"Had the Sheriff not evicted the Lance from the Moore House, we could have used its front as a funeral home as a means to pick the body up and transport it to our own facility for investigation. I believe such places also contain the appropriate equipment for transporting bodies."
Adam would drop the suggestion again. Maybe if someone else approached Lina she would pay attention. If not, then it wasn't anything between her and Adam. The Sheriff had an ax to grind with everyone.
