The Fairest Tavern

She hadn’t been to the Tavern since the Dream training. And realizes she should visit it more often.

With the weather getting warmer, she opted for a suede wrap skirt and black bell sleeved fitted shirt. Her new pair of boots were paired with the outfit, as well as her hedgespun necklace. Which came to life in an ever changing rainbow of colors in the Hedge.

Walking into the room, she first noticed the delicious smell of something cooking. A smile appears as she sees Abraham busy at work.

She hated to disturb him, “I had no idea this meeting included a meal!” says the Nix with a smile, “But it smells amazing.”

Smiling, “Why thank you!” a girl always loves a compliment.

Walking over to the table, she pulls out the chair and sits, watching Abraham as he worked.
Laughing, light and musical, “Oh I don’t diet.” Shaking her head, “I just bust my butt at the gym, but never diet.” Hell no! Looking to the wine, she shakes her head again but with a soft smile, “I don’t drink, but thank you. I think water will be ok, and don’t let me stop you from having any.”
She had to remember that not everyone knew she didn’t drink. Not that is was a huge thing to her.

“A quest you say? That’s always exciting!” eagerness in her voice, it was like an adventure, and she loved those.

“Me?” she knew her connection to Spring was strong, “But shouldn’t our Monarch be a priority? I’m sure she’s more interesting than I am.” Plus she was the Monarch.

“And a project?” this was going to be a fun meeting.

The smile was returned, “Well, that is a lot to cover.” She agrees with a nod, “My suggestion would be to go with whatever is more interesting to you right now. I’m fine with all the topics.”

Frowning, “Sorry.” And she meant it.

Smiling once again, “Do you enjoy being a knight-errant? Sounds like it must keep you busy.” She says. "Mind of I ask how you became one?" it could be considered nosey.

“Really?! A picnic here in the Hedge?! Consider me jealous! How was it?” sounds like something that could be fun, with a mixture of danger as well. Perfect! Shaking her head, “I haven’t, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t around. While it is concerning, I’m sure if there was a problem, she would have let someone know. Ingrid isn’t a fool.” She had faith that their Queen was fine.

She smiles gratefully he poured the water, taking a sip.

“Oh,” she says glancing around the Tavern, “it doesn’t! I never even thought about it. It should have a name.” everything needed a name. “Maybe we can reach out to the rest of the Court and see what they think. Then everyone can come up with a name and we can select the perfect one! With how much it’s grown, it deserves a name.” she nods.

A hand touches the necklace, as she grins, “It is Hedgespun and I did make it. I’ve been trying to get more into Hedgespinning, but it’s a difficult craft to get into. But I keep trying! I hope someday to carve myself out a piece of the Hedge and be able to make things for friends.”

There was obvious interest on her face as she listens, “It does sound very exciting! Especially hunting monsters in the Hedge! And a shovel?!” she laughs, “I do have to admit, you tell amazing stories. I’ve actually been working on singing stories, well, only one so far, but yah.” A shrug.

“Maybe you’ll be one of those knights that survives everything that comes at you, and will get to tell those tales until your old age.” Ever the optimist.

“An actor huh?” then a smirk and nod, “I can see that.” Which to her was a compliment. “So the sword isn’t just for show? How good are you with it?” a hint of eagerness in her voice. “And I think it’s great that you’ve found a way to put those skills to use.” She says as she cuts into the meat.

Nodding, “Our Queen certainly is full of surprises and ingenuity.” Ingrid had been an excellent leader for them. Shaking her head, “I can’t remember her doing this before. And should it be something she doesn’t want us to worry about, I’m sure it will eventually come out. But if that’s the case, you can’t fault her for wanting to handle it herself. Sometimes it’s easy for us to forget we have people who will gladly help us. I’m always having to remind myself that I don’t have to face things alone anymore.” But it was a hard thing to stop.

Taking a bite, she eagerly nods, “Oh yeah. With new Springs in town, it’d be great to get together and get to know each other.”

Pointing at the meat, “This is delicious!” she gushed.

“I have some knowledge, I learned from a friend who used to reside here. She made me the jacket I usually wear. Her talent was undeniable. She even had her own workshop in the Hedge. I wanted to learn as much as I could from her, but she got called away.” So goes life.

“I’m not a local, but I haven’t really traveled a whole lot. I mean, I’m from a very small town in the middle of nowhere. And while I did travel a bit before as a kid, I’d hardly call myself a traveler. And you?"

[Seraphina]

Laughing and shaking her head, “Like I said, it’s still in the works. I haven’t figured out the perfect notes for each word and section yet. It’s considered a poem, so I’m try to come up with a good flow of the words to bring it to life. So if I were to attempt it, it wouldn’t sound good at all.” She warned.

“Really? Well, I guess it’s better to go out doing something you love than sitting in a chair remembering those times.” Retirement wasn’t for everyone.

Sapphires watch him stand and grab the sword, curious to what he was going to do.

Her eyes then widen at the trick and she claps, “Wow! That was amazing!” she gushed, clearly impressed. Nodding, “That is a very satisfying answer! Quite impressive!” seemed he would be quite the opponent.

“L.A. huh? I’ve only been there briefly, but there seems to be a lot to do and see. Anything L.A. has that you miss?” she enjoyed getting to know people.

“For fun? Hmm, lets see.” She looks thoughtful for a moment, “I enjoy reading, and find it quite relaxing, training at the gym, watching movies, designing new looks for Garden Grounds, shopping at local flea markets for unique trinkets and what not.”
