MantleThere were shiny lights. And all kinds of food. And shiny lights. And lots of music. And shiny lights. And many people. And shiny lights.
Was this festival designed to lure in curious monkeys? It sure seemed that way. In any case, it worked, because here came Sonja Wu. Dressed colorfully and warmly, the young Asian-American woman entered the festival with eyes wide in wonder and a thrilled smile on her lips.
So. Many. Shiny. Things.
Where oh where to begin? Food, obviously. Sonnie let her nose lead her towards the vendor stalls and food trucks that generated such delicious scents.

Mable dressed in a casual way with jeans and a cute sweater. She couldn't wait to go see the lights and the zoo animals. And maybe dance a little. This was certainly a night of excitement for the petite Pagan.
For Mable, the lights held a significant meaning. Living in the dark as she has to do now, light was a symbol of her soul being illuminated. A celebration of the goddess. Tonight was a massive celebration, the solstice, Saturnalia, yuletide, the full moon, her list goes on.
She stood in the entry way, and stared in wonderment at what laid before her. One day, her farm would be lit up for all to see and to enjoy the gardens and lights.
Mable entered and started to wonder around. In front of her was a familiar face, "Sonnie." She yelled to get the girls attention.

MantleWhen her name was called, the Beast turned about from the churro stand, having just paid for a couple of the treats. Sugary sustenance in hand, she beamed at the sight of the beautiful blonde. "Mable? Hi!"
With a quick skip over, Sonnie smiled broadly as she greeted the vampire, "Sup, girlfriend? Happy holidays! I haven't seen you since that dive joint! How you doin'?" she imitated Joey Tribbiani with a giggle. This was followed with a bite of one of her churros.
Unlike their previous meeting, this time Sonja had on a pair of shoes. Red tabi boots, to be specific.
Following a mithral non-existant thread, Kasterborous stumbled upon a park, covered in lights. Unnatural. "What sorcery is this? Illuminate Trees? Fascinating."
To the casual observer, he may have come off insane. But a diligent watcher would note that the innocent routine was all an act filled with mirth for the sole purpose of entertainment. Whether meant for an audience or the mage himself, it was difficult to say.
The Gray Ladies weaved red threads around the lights. A Beast of Glamour and a Beast of Feral Blood met under trees that hung with lights like stars. One who had journey to Arcadia to seek the Truth wasn't far from one who'd escaped it. Lydia came here not for entertainment, but to watch and protect on that glorious, sparkling night. There were Hedge Gates in this park: one active, and one close to opening near the baseball diamond. It was around the time of the Solstice, and close to Christmas, and these were days of fate and emotion indeed. She remembered something her old Freehold's Groundskeeper had told her: "Where there's fate and fortune, there are Them. Where there are limits, They will lurk. Where someone can disappear and reappear in an instant, They will take their chances."

Unfortunately, trying to remain unseen in the crowd was near-impossible. Excited children ran around her feet, nearly bumping into her and making her stumble. The lights of the trees were hard on her eyes, Lydia unused to such a glow when she'd lurked in forested shadow. The smell of food being cooked and sold distracted her, as she hadn't eaten something before leaving the boarding house. Most awkwardly of all, a small girl had come up and asked if Lydia was an elf, and the Airtouched had panicked for a moment.
"Oh...right. S-Santa's Elves. Ah...nae, love. Wh-where's the Little Ae's parents?"
The girl shrugged. She couldn't have been more than five or six, and was all alone. This was more than unsafe, with all these strangers around and the time of day it was. Lydia desperately glanced to and fro, trying to find someone that wasn't her to be a responsible adult. (Clearly her parents were either very distracted or did not give a shite...)

Dreaming, -1 WP to analyze, WP to hold Dream together, DreamscapeSparkling Chrismtas lights? Live music? Food?! Count the Treasured in!
One of her favorites part of the holiday season were the lights. If done right, the could transform a building, plant or anything into something magical. And she was all about magical.
Bouncing around her apartment, she picks out a burgundy sweater dress. It cinched at the waist, highlighting how tiny her was, and hit just above her knees. She paired it with a pair of similarly colored knee-high boots with amazing button detail up the side. But what made the dress stand out to her? It buttoned all the way up the front, so she left some unbuttoned on the bottom, revealing more of her long legs. Long hair was wavy and left down around her shoulders.
Breezing into the area, sapphires widen with amazement at the lights! It was beautiful! Then glancing at her hands, she realized how the lights sparkled against her gilded skin. There was a giggle as she wiggled her fingers.
She spots two familiar faces, Sonnie and Lydia, and waves with a huge smile.
But first, something to drink or eat. Shes not sure which, and will decide once she gets there.
Long legs carry her over to the food as she hummed some random holiday song.

Mable smiled at Sonnie, "I have been great and you? How's the food? OMG awesome boots." Her excited words came out like a flood after a damn had been released. "The lights are sooo. beautiful." Mable's brown eyes sparkled.

MantleSonnie munches on one of her churros while offering the second to Mable, "I have been great, thank you for asking! I've been going to parties and making friends and totally impressing my boss at work! And thank you, I love these boots! I just got them a few weeks ago!"
The Beast's eyes were easily drawn back to the lights, and she nodded vigorously in agreement with the Gangrel, "Riiiiight? They're almost hypnotic! I kinda wanna climb one of these trees and just nestle in among the lights! Is that weird? It sounds weird now that I said it out loud," she giggled, just as chatty as Mable this evening.
Spying Seraphina and Lydia, she grinned and waved energetically to her fellow faeries!
Oh thank the Fates, familiar faces. For once, Lydia didn't shrink back into the crowd, instead hurrying over. She both expected and didn't expect the child to follow her, brown eyes round and big, mousy hair tucked back into a tight tail. She was like a little puppy or kitten, and Lydia felt sympathy for her. She looked so unconcerned and unsure at the same time - did this happen often? Once again, where were her parents?
Lydia quickly scanned the scene for the most sensible choice of person to take charge. Sonnie? No, too much energy. The woman with her was unknown, and therefore a possible threat to the child's well-being. Seraphina? She'd have to do. Lydia grimaced, apology written all over her face.
"Greetin's," she said quickly to all, and then, "er...Sweet-Voiced Ae? Thissae...um...." She gestured at the girl. Her tongue was tied, words frozen in her throat. Great was the urge to melt into the Earth and disappear; the littlest one sensed this.
"Who are you?" the girl said. "Do you know my Mommy?"
"The Littlest Ae's alone," Lydia finally managed to say. "Just...alone. Nae a parent." The girl stared at all of them with expectancy.
