[Campanella]

This Irish Pub was squeezed into a space in downtown Sacramento. Cunningly contrived, the pub's actual street frontage was small; inside the space was far larger and... irregularly shaped. Who knows why? Campanella certainly didn't - and possibly couldn't given the ale fumes already percolating inside his head. The dark paneling and decor also bought into the mystery, especially with the low lighting. Again, was it sheer contrivance or a subtle sign of the Supernal at work? The Sleeper crowd did not seem to mind and the pub was filled with the low buzz of conversation.

Outside, the darkness ate at the lingering light in a triumphal foretaste of winter.

The Moros Campanella wanted escape. The Consilium's fluctuating numbers and the ripple effects of Epitaph's death, hunters, and the uncertainty of the Clock, had driven him away from his place of abode and the theatre Sanctum of Nidhogg's Bane. He was working too hard and the Arcane seemed to be increasingly shrill and urgent.

So he had rebelled.

And so here he was nursing a beer. He really hoped it would be the first of many. The odd corner he had picked out was safely away from the main body of Sleepers. He really didn't want to have to deal with them as well while he drank himself to the point of stupor.

Social scene. Open to all.

[Kaze]

Kaze enters the pub looking around with interest, more like he's taking in a museum exhibit than like he's looking for anyone he knows. Nonetheless he smiles and nods in Campanella's direction when he spots the Councillor, but doesn't initiate contact beyond acknowledgement.

He's wearing a brown leather jacket and black trousers and shoes. He moves back to a corner booth with a view of the entrance, and gets a menu which he looks at with some interest, the same as he takes in the surroundings and denizens of the pub.

[Sand]

Wanted: Scotch. Preferably something of quality.

The Theater had some. Of quality and even a couple bottles of quality. Steps taken 2/ insure so.

Appeal though? Low.

Theater = quiet atm. Thoughts = loud. & that ... even less appealing.

Irish Pub on the other hand. Exact 180. Maybe it wouldn't have the top shelf Nidhogg's Ban had. But it would have better than blended whiskey.

A # of t-shirts were pulled on. & off. Finally settled on simple. Dark jeans & plain colored but fitted t-shirt.


Step inside, feel click of satisfaction w/ choice 2/ go out.

"Lagavulin 16. Neat." When eventually arrived @ the bar.

Turn 2/ look while waiting.

Campanella. W/ a beer?! And Kaze near the entrance. Missed on first arrival. Goals & priorities.

"Keep the tab open," exchanged 4/ glass of whiskey.

1st: A taste.
2nd: Move 2/ socialize.

[Kaze]

Kaze nods in friendly greeting and acknowledgement as he notices the Councillor noting his presence. He seems to return to perusing a menu though he still seems to be aware of his surroundings.

[Campanella]

Campanella at least lifts himself from his brooding thoughts.

He notes Kaze . The Mighty is at the other end of the pub. While the Moros inclines his head in a subtle - perhaps too subtle - gesture, he does not make a move away from his corner.

Sand is a different challenge. She is more than just another mage. She is a member of his Cabal. The Moros Councillor might wish to be alone, but he has obligations to discharge.

So he signals that he is open to an approach if Sand felt the need for company.

[Sand]

A smile returned 2/ Kaze. Maybe waiting 4/ a date due 2/ lack of drink but menu?

Campanella = winner then.

Step left. Step forward. Right twice. Forward quickly. Stop & wait.

Eventually, arrival.

"Evening. Looks like a few folks had the same idea tonight."

Refrained from sitting. Maybe Campanella also waited on a date.

[Campanella]

"It does indeed," Campanella makes a pointed glance toward Kaze.

He quickly turns his gaze to his Call mate.

"Please! Sit! Join me. This table offers an excellent view of the bar. Should anyone else appear. What is your choice tonight? For myself, I am on the cheaper stuff tonight. Sometimes, quantity over quality is the best thing. That is my intention, at any rate."

And quite deliberately, he drank his beer.

[Phoenyx]

I don't like it. This feeling. Make it stop. We're just going for a drink.

So why do I feel like I'm about to be attacked?

Phoenyx breathed deepy in the alleyway, using her discipline to regain composure.

In, and out.

Feeling her nerves settle, she shuffles a little in her trenchcoat. She felt a little exposed without her knives, her gun. The Obrimos scolded herself internally, seeing the image of her Great-Uncles face, hearing his voice. An Arrow does not rely on one form of strength. That is not our way.

She missed him. Iero was a tough sensei, but he had taught her discipline, and tried to impart wisdom. Finding her own way was... harder, though she knew she must. Seeing all these new people, feeling new things away from her small patch of the world - it was like awakening all over again. But it was reassuring to recognise there were those she felt she could count on, if only a little.

Phoenyx tugged up her pants and walked slowly into the pub. She spotted Kaze at the bar, and felt herself smile. as her eyes wandered around she saw the Councillors, Campanella and Sand, in one corner. Feeling her chest tighten, she gives them a wave as she heads straight for Kaze at the bar.

"Hey," she says to him, smiling. "I.... um. Sorry I'm late." Phoenyx sounds like she has to force out the apology, like the words are particularly unfamiliar to her. "You got a drink?"

[Kaze]

Kaze grins at Phoenyx's arrival rising as she comes to his booth. "You're perfectly on time." he says to Phoenyx. "As always."

He says, "I haven't ordered yet. I am going to get a coke and some soup." he says, offering the menu to her. "I'm glad you came." he says, glancing around, "This place seems to be kind of popular."

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx's smile shrinks, and she narrows her eyes. He's mocking me!

He's joking. Stop seeing eveything as a threat.

She takes a slow breath and tries to relax, sidling into the booth across from him, looking intently at the menu. "I might actually have a drink. Rum and coke." Brown eyes flick up at him, then back down. There you go, Kami. Relax a little. Kaze is on your side. The big goon. She stares at the menu for a few moments, before looking at him with another small, almost inperceptible smile. "Soup sounds good."
